  • Wonderful quaint house with lots of character

"Our stay at the Tuck-er Inn was as close to perfect as you could want. It was everything that we were looking for. The house is not new, but it is impeccably maintained with wonderful attention to detail... and has great character. It has all the amenities that we were looking for: lovely in-ground pool with a (blue?)stone deck, deck chairs and table surrounded by apple trees and lush landscaping; brand new (large and awesome) hot tub outside in another small deck; Sauna inside by the rec room; large deck behind the dining room with a grill and fire pit available to spend glorious evenings by the fire under the stars. We love fireplaces and the house has two: one in the dining room and one in the living room. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the utensils, dishes, cutlery, etc. that we would need. My wife loved the center island for cooking. The house had lots of space for our group of 7, with lots of options to relax and unwind. The property is serene and secluded with majestic, tall trees surrounding the property... but yet just moments away from all of the cool places and things that the area has to offer. It's a great location within 5 minutes of Warren Village, Sugarbush and Waitsfield Village. The owner - Tom - was extremely helpful. He first notified us a couple of weeks before our stay that there was a problem with the pool and that it might not be available during our stay. When I made him aware of how important it was for our group to have a pool, he went out of his way and was able to get the pool repaired in time so that when we got there, it was ready to go. There are too many great things to mention about the Tuck-er Inn in this small space. All-in-all, we couldn't recommend this beautiful country home more highly. It's picturesque and quaint but with all of the amenities that you could want. Thank you Tom and Beth. My family will have fond memories of this vacation. Luis"

  • Great 2016 MLK weekend get away

"My family had a wonderful long weekend at Battleground! What a beautiful place. The condo was fabulous. So well stocked, everything we could need. Kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of towels. Just great. The queen bed is one of the best beds I have ever slept in. My husband is 6-5 and I was worried about a queen size, we always get a king but it really was great. I would recommend this condo to anyone! The owner was very responsive to any and all requests and questions. You will eat very well in the Mad River Valley. So many restaurants we will have to return to try them all. Skiing was great at Sugarbush and Mount Ellen."

  • Definitely a home away from home

"We are senior citizens who just returned from a 2 week stay at "Snow's Nest". Not only is the house well equipped but as repeat renters we noted many things that had been updated and refreshed. The setting offers privacy and quiet with flowers and shade trees, but many tourist attractions are less than an hour's drive away. The expression "Shop Local" will take on new meaning when you visit the Waitsfield Farmer's Market or any of the businesses in town; folks are friendly and helpful. For anyone who has not been in Vermont in the summer - swimming holes in the Mad River are for all ages; you will drive through the Bridge St. covered bridge many times and we recommend parking and walking a short way to watch the activity under the bridge!"

  • A wonderful family weekend!

"We stayed 3 nights over MLK weekend, and had a terrific time. This condo is really in a great location just off Mt Ellen. It was nice to know we could come off the slopes and be back in our own condo in about 5 minutes! The owner was super helpful and the condo lived up to everything it promised. We will definitely be back!"
