  • Private and quiet

"The property is at an absolutely beautiful and private location on the lake. Cute little house with enough amenities to make the stay comfortable."

  • Beautiful views and more

"Ramsey's Retreat is a great lake house with an ideal location, plenty of space to stretch out and relax, and top notch amenities including a sandy beach area, boathouse on semi-private inlet, paddleboat, ping pong, darts, and close proximity to SML state park. Our family enjoyed our week of swimming, BBQs, boating, and fun in the sun. Convenient to Moneta (restaurants/Food Lion), and across the bridge to Bridgewater, movie theater, Kroger, etc."

  • Great home, great location.

"Great, clean home on SML. We were a group of three couples and stayed very comfortably. The deck provided a great view and most of our time was spent on it while at the house. We took the basement master as we had two dogs and could keep them away from our friends during the night. This home is the perfect layout for two families, with children, vacationing together. The Parnell’s were so easy to work with and I would definitely recommend this vacation home."

  • Very Roomy, Private, Fun

"This was a very nice home to stay in. There were some glitches however, mostly with older, outdated and nearly unusable stove and refrigerator. The stove burners worked sporadically, I would be cooking and the burner would stop working in the middle or go so hot it would burn whatever it was I was cooking. So we ended up using the grill side burner and top to cook nearly everything. We ran out of propane near the end of the week and I texted the property manager that it was empty, but he responded that the owners did not supply propane so we exchanged the tank for them at the store that we had to drive to get to. Also, something was wrong with the seal on the door of the refrigerator. We ended up having to use a bungee cord to latch to the cabinet from the door to keep the door closed so our food would not go bad. Anything we were concerned about, we had to keep buying ice to keep in the coolers. We did not see the property manager at all. When we arrived at the property at 3:30, I called, left voice mail and texted him. Finally, the person retrieving linens from the previous week renter let us in and called him. He never showed up once to show us how to use the lifts, game room air conditioner or anything. That being said, this is a beautiful home and when the renovations are complete, it will be an amazing place to stay. I loved how easy it was to get to the dock and the water and scenery there was amazing. We were pulling a tube on the boat and pretty much just stayed in the cove. I like that it was so remote and private. The Doughertys home is very nice."
