  • Cozy and well equipped cabin

"We loved staying here, it was perfect for our family of 4. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook really great meals, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were nice, and the views were lovely. The house was nice and clean when we arrived, and our toddler loved playing with the toys we found there. We made s'mores around the campfire and enjoyed fishing at the pond. Angie was very easy to work with, she replied quickly when I asked about the coffee pot (it's a regular coffee maker, not a Keurig, in case you were wondering). We would love to come back and stay here again in the future!"

  • Anniversary Weeken

"We were looking to get away and celebrate our one year anniversary and the Black Bear Chalet was the right place. When we arrived we found the cabin to be in excellent shape, and everything in its place. The instructions were easy to follow and we didn't have to waste anytime before turning off our phones and not touching them again until we left. The porch was a great place to enjoy meals and watch the birds. The property was large enough to explore and find some spots to sit and soak in the surroundings. Other than some cars going past, we didn't see anyone else and that's exactly what we we wanted. All correspondence with the Webers was prompt and courteous. They provided detailed instructions regarding the cabin and things to do in the surrounding area. We didn't venture out on this trip by design - other than the Paw Paw Tunnel on the way home - but next time we plan to take advantage of their suggestions of things to see and places to go. We definitely want to return before too long to unplug and recharge. The only thing we'd do differently is maybe add an extra day."

  • A Lovely Historical Home

"A lovely home located near the historical area of Winchester. A wonderful home to spend a couple days relaxing after having spent a busy week before with our 9 year old grandson. We met his mom in Pennsylvania to return him after our visit and Winchester was a nice place to stay a couple of days before returning home. We enjoyed the restaurants and the shops that were close enough to walk to. The weather was very warm so we spent time just hanging out in the home. We enjoyed learning about the history of the home and the old town area. Justine was a pleasure to work with and she had everything clean and ready when we arrived. The house is perfect for a larger group as it has plenty of space and nice bedrooms. I would definitely recommend a stay in this very quaint and historical home. We hope to return sometime in the future."

  • Perfect getaway

"Perfect little cabin. Nestled in the woods with no neighbors too close for comfort. Has everything you could possibly want. It rained the whole time we were there so we had to stay indoors mostly, but we're not bored. Has all the movies on Netflix and roku plus a vast DVDs collection. Has a great selection of board games not just for kids. Plus wii and PlayStation 3 so there's plenty to do if you do get stuck indoors. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in when away from home. And the price is great compared to what I pay for a lot of rental properties. If your thinking about booking do it! You won't be disappointed we weren't. Can't wait to go back when the weather is nicer"
