  • What a way to enjoy a horse show

"When we got there not standing in line at the check-in desk, open the door and its a little bit of HEAVEN!!!! Our stay was so peaceful, and like Amanda says "Everything is there just bring food and yourself". When she says everything, she means everything including an a washer and dryer, corn hole game outside, and a propane grill!!! Can't go wrong!!!!! We loved our stay."

  • Bucolic Interlude

"We were looking for a place to meet with friends for a 3 day excursion and happened upon this beautiful 1820 farmhouse near Lexington, Va. This charming house has been kept true to its history, with some added features, such as a back porch and deck, a/c, etc. A long winding gravel road takes you through a working farm and the cows and other animals until you reach this gorgeous house. The house, itself, is well appointed, with just about everything you can think of that you'd need; then there is the artwork and historical certificates and plaques hanging on the walls of all rooms; and the views are amazing. For the more adventurous, there is an 1850 cemetery across the parking area and up the hill, but you have to scale a fence and make your way through the cows to get to it. The location is just about perfect, half way between Natural Bridge and Lexington. Every evening we enjoyed our cocktail hour while sitting on the back porch looking at the birds and animals and the grand vistas. We want to thank the owners and especially, Joyce, who made our stay so welcoming. As another reviewer mentioned, there are notes all over the house, explaining switches and other features to make it easy to stay there. Next time we come to Lexington, we will definitely try to stay here...again, thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of staying here."

  • Unique, and so very comfortable

"We really enjoyed our stay. It was so much better than the typical hotel experience. Besides the extraordinary period correct furnishings and artwork, it just felt like our own personal apartment. It seemed as though the studio had been prepared by an invisible butler that had anticipated our every need. VERY COOL AND SPECIAL!"
