  • Nice for a getaway

"The Sungrazer is a nice place for a getaway or vacation in the mountains. If offers an open dining/living area with brand new wood floors. It will accommodate a large group easily. The owner, Carol, is very responsive and easy to access. The view from the deck is fabulous!"

  • Perfect weekend getaway

"We had a wonderful stay at Creekside Retreat! Our group comprised 9 dads and our daughters as part of a Indian Princess reunion. The house was fully updated and slept everyone comfortably to help make our weekend stay a memorable one! It has a great location on the mountain and the creek made for a picturesque setting. We enjoyed a hike in the nearby Shenandoah National Park and our daughters took advantage of the fabulous water park. Jami, the owner, and her staff were wonderful and very accommodating throughout the entire process. On the day of arrival, we were met at the property and given the key code to the house and a full walk-through, eliminating the need to go to a rental office. My daughter left her eyeglasses behind, and the friendly cleaning staff was able to find them and ship them back to me the next day! I would recommend Creekside Retreat to anyone and will be staying there again in the future!"

  • Beautiful property, lovely hosts

"We thoroughly enjoyed our Easter vacation at the farm. There was plenty of room for our family of 6. The house was immaculately clean, and we were able to get in a few hours early. We were well stocked with plenty of towels and essentials. Despite the age and quirkiness of the house, the kitchen was modern, and the fruit & chocolate was a welcome surprise when we arrived. Brad and Deana gave us excellent advice on local hikes (esp humpback rocks) and restaurants (loved Blue Mtn Brewery & Kings Popcorn) . we were about 20 minutes from hikes in the Shenandoah National forest (Doyle Falls hike was beautiful,) and 30 minutes to Monicello, both of which we enjoyed. Our kids loved playing ping pong in the barn, visiting the donkeys, and walking down to the river to fish. The location felt secluded, yet was just a few minutes to the highway. Our security deposit was promptly returned. would definitely recommend this home."

  • Just the kind of mountain cabin you'd want for a family get together!

"Our family gathered in Basye to celebrate our son's graduation from JMU, just 40 minutes down the road. We had about 12 people come together, and the cabin was absolutely perfect for the occasion. Each room has a comfortable queen-size bed, there are two and a half baths, and there was plenty of living space for folks to spread out. With 12 people, all but one being an adult, you have a number of cars, and there was even plenty of space for 5 cars to park. It all really worked out well. The cabin is rustic, clean and welcoming. Brad was excellent in his communication, yet he was not fussy about the arrangements. He answered any questions I had, but he did not hound us with check in or check out procedures. It was all professional yet casual. Thanks, Brad! The cabin is in a very hilly community of homes that appeared to be primarily second homes. It had a real mountain charm. All amenities were accurately represented in the description, the property was clean and I would recommend it to friends looking for a place in the area."
