  • Great family getaway

"We stayed here for two nights in January so we could get together with family from Virginia and North Carolina. The house is beautiful, clean and very well-equipped. Plenty of beds and seating space for our group of 15. Although temps were in the 40s we went fishing off the dock and took the canoe out on the lake. We really enjoyed using the large outdoor grill and fire pit, and the kids liked the little playground. The pool table was nice also. Michael, the owner, was very friendly and helpful as was the local property manager/housekeeper. We would definitely stay here again. Be advised, there are very few businesses in Bracey so you should bring your groceries, bait and supplies with you. The cottage was a little hard to find, it's best to get there before dark. Overall a wonderful experience."

"The Lake and the house are equally beautiful !!! All the comforts of home and too many amenities to mention. Plenty of room for everyone to sit and visit or just be by yourself on the wonderful decks! We spent our days playing in the lake and at night on the screened porch enjoying each others company. The grand kids went fishing off the boat dock and caught so many fish. They had such a great time. Lori and Bill were very welcoming and helpful and made our stay enjoyable. We would go back in a heartbeat, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, peaceful, and fun vacation."

  • Perfect Getaway!!!

"This home is a perfect getaway for my family. The weather was perfect, the house was immaculate (they even had little soaps in the bathrooms!) The jet tub was heaven! We spent most of our time out on the dock. We sat in the sun, read, swam and then at night we had an outdoor fire in the fire pit and made smores. The house had everything we need to make our meals and there were some books and games available too. The grocery store is about 10 minutes away, which was perfect. The house is deceiving large, you wouldn't know from the outside how big it is in on the inside. This home can easily fit a dozen people! And it was enough space that the kids could hangout downstairs while the adults were upstairs. I also love the amount of trees in the back yard, giving you some shade during the day! Brian and Jean were wonderful to work with, they truly cared about our experience renting their beautiful home. I've rented many homes in NC and this is my new favorite. We will be returning."

  • A feast for the eyes and soul!

"No words can even begin to describe how beautiful the Lakeside Getaway house is! No words or photos can relay the experience of being in this house, out on the deck or WOW that dock! The inside of the house is so beautiful, brand new and spotless. Sitting inside the house with the massive window view just puts you in an amazing mood as you can see the trees and the dock right from those comfortable lazy boy sofas! The kitchen is the kind that you’d see on a cooking TV show! with super modern silver kitchen equipment and royal-like black marble counters and every utensil you can think of! The lighting system in the kitchen is amazing you can dim the lights as you please for the mood. The master bedroom is like a honeymoon suite, we used to sleep with the curtains open to wake up to the view of the mist on the water. It was like looking at a piece of heaven with the mist moving on top of the water like clouds right from your bed :) The master bathroom is as big as a small apartment! There’s the jetted tub with a huge window next to it overlooking a beautiful view. We used to keep these curtains open too except while in the tub. The shower with the “his and hers” showerheads and those beautiful tiles is like one from a 7-start hotel. The walk in closet was a huge plus and so were the two sinks. The deck is so spacious and perfectly furnished it was our favorite spot for lunch everyday right where the grill is! The dock, which is just a few feet from the house, was where we spent most of our days fishing from the morning till night. We caught so many catfish, the biggest was 4.5 lbs, tens of sunfish and yellow perch. This was the best fishing ever right at the comfort of a huge dock that offers light, power outlets, a nice bar with elegant marble counters and a storage room so we didn’t have to carry our fishing gear to and from the house. And guess what? There are two chaise longues on the dock! Perfect for tanning while waiting for these lines to drag ;) The basement has a Ping-Pong table, kayaks and a conveniently located laundry room. Lakeside Getaway just has anything that anyone could possibly think of or need. We had an amazing time and to top all that, Brian and Rebecca were so great to deal with, they actually treated us like family! We had never experienced anything close to this with any of the owners we’ve rented with before. Thank you so much Brian and Rebecca and God bless you and your beautiful home. We will definitely be back!"
