  • Perfect location for all things Door County!

"What a wonderful time we had at this wonderful home with our family. We were within walking distance to downtown Fish Creek yet it was quiet and away from the summer crowds. Very spacious, especially the kitchen. It was fully stocked with everything we needed. The grill and fire pit were great for our evening gatherings. There was a winery and art gallery right across the street, so convenient and fun. Owners were attentive and responsive. Thanks for a memorable family vacation!"

  • Great host, great cottage, great location!

"Everything was great about this cottage; the view, the breeze, the fireplace, the location. It had everything. Lyle was kind enough to bring us firewood, kindling, and newspaper for our fire. You can walk 200 feet to the main road, turn left or right, and within a three minute walk you can find coffee, food, or drinks. A truely great location. Not to mention a 5, 10, and 15 minute drive gets you to Ellison Bay, Sister Bay, and Ephraim!"

  • This cabin was almost perfect - wish there was a 4.5 star rating

"Almost perfect. Here's why: the bedrooms are very in you can't walk around the bed (on the end) if the closet doors are open, and the beds are double-sized, which with two adults and 11 & 12 yr old kids is, well, interesting. The website says it sleeps 4, which it does, but wow - it was tight. The couch is comfy, but not enough space for all four people at one time, so movie-night when it rains isn't a comfortable option. The fire pit is a bit further than we'd expected; though it is listed as "shared" on the listing, we only used it once since it wasn't too convenient to carry all our wood and goodies back and forth with us. (This cabin is surrounded by actual home owners, so they won't let you have a fire pit right at your cabin in case it would get out of hand.) Other than those few things, this cabin was clean, so very peaceful, stocked with the necessities, and sits on a gorgeous lake with a steady pier. Next time we visit, we will plan to book the home next to this one - 3 bedroom, and absolutely beautiful...more like an up-scale expanded pent-house hotel suite, actually. Cindy, the property manager, was absolutely amazing, and the owners were very quick to respond and very flexible to our needs. All in all, a perfect getaway, just a but tight on space for a family of four."

  • Wonderful Vacation Home with a beautiful view

"My husband and I, our three very young children, and in-laws rented the Nelson house the first week of October 2016 and we can't say enough good things about it. We had a fabulous time enjoying dinners around the large dining table, sitting together in the beautifully crafted great room, watching the sunrise in the mornings, and playing on the beach with our children. The owner is very responsive to any issues. The House is well maintained and comfortable. With three small children who like to get into everything, it was nice to come to a home that didn't have a lot of knick-knacks and breakables. Jacksonport is a very quiet town, which makes the Nelson house a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the busy bay side of the peninsula. We look forward to renting the Nelson house again."
