  • A nice condo in walking distance of everything.

"The condo was tidy and clean. No TV cable or antenna for news/weather. The location was prefect for us, as everything was in a short walk from the condo. The only night life on the island (Tom's burned out bar) is 50 yards away, so you can hear the music from the condo. The music was great, however if music playing till 2 or 3 AM, this might not be the spot for you. For us, the music drew us out to enjoy the night. Most eateries were also in easy walking distance. We found that "gourmet" spots were awful. The beach club, Grandpa's pizza were simple but good. The coffee shop under the condo wS great and had the best souvenir clothing around. Overall the island is beautiful. We were surprised to find the state park to offer so little and largely not dog friendly. Candles aren't my thing but the candle shop, the grounds, and the people aren't to be missed. I enjoyed their beautiful gardens."

  • Super nice!

"Well appointed and super clean and quiet place with a nice lake view! comfortable beds and nice décor. Paul was very accommodating and met us at check in to show us the place and answer questions, and was very responsive to questions and requests prior to our visit. He takes very exceptional care of this property and I would not hesitate to rent from him in the future. Regarding Madeline Island- if you haven't been there, take the plunge! Whether you're looking for solitude, great beaches, fun (but not overcrowded) bars and restaurants, or simply looking to put the feet up and read, Mad Island is the place to go. We own a seasonal place and rent occasionally in the winter to check on our place and enjoy the winter."

  • Beautiful condo in a remarkable setting

"Sheila's condo was the perfect place for us--very clean and confortable, with a good queen sized bed and an astoundingly well-equipped kitchen...Plenty of linens are provided. It was spacious for the two of us, but would have been comfortable for four since both sofa and loveseat open out. The wifi was free and fast. The amazing location was upstairs from a bakery, coffee shop and restaurant, and art gallery. The living room picture window (which was spotless) has a view of the bay, complete with ferry, sailboats and sunsets. Right across the street are several shops, including kayak, bike, and moped rental. Up the street is "Tom's Burned Down Cafe"--a very unique local hangout. The back porch looks toward the woods and the sunrise, and has some patio chairs and a table...the photos on the site capture it nicely. Sheila is a great VRBO host. Our email was answered within a few hours. She has placed many thoughtful extras--safety and first aid supllies, toiletry samples, as well as books and travel guides. I sincerely hope to return to the island, and to Sheila's!"
