  • Just breathtaking.

"The house is spacious, yet also felt cozy for our long weekend for two. Fall colors were in full effect, and the setting was just spectacular. Absolutely gorgeous home and property! We biked around the area on winding, colorful, totally car-free roads. We canoed around the lake. We star-gazed from the dock at night, and watched bald eagles socialize in the pine trees right in front of the hot tub! When I win the lottery I'm going to make them an offer they can't refuse!"

  • Beautiful Place

"This is such a nice property with a huge yard and lots of shoreline. The lake is gorgeous and peaceful. The owner obviously takes great pride in his property as everything is well appointed, updated and maintained. It was a great weekend and I would highly recommend! Be sure to visit Louie's for a drink and a cocktail right across the lake! It's a bit of a drive for supplies (about 15 minutes) so plan ahead but, I personally prefer a less-busy and quiet area when getting away from it all. The property owners on the lake have even maintained a spot on an island where you can pull up your boat and get out, cook, etcetera. It's very nice!!"

  • Magic. Spacious. Well thought-out property.

"We just spent the past 10 days at the Artist's Lake-View Country Home. It was wonderfully, artistically, intentional. What I mean is that every piece of furniture, art, shrubbery, trees, statues, windows, lighting was thought about and carefully placed - yet done so in a way that at first appears quirky, then looks completely natural. Applause for Richard Dillon creating such a place. There was plenty of room for us to do everything - sleep, cook, dine-in, walk or simply enjoy gazing out at a sunrise or the nearby woods on any of the 5 open or enclosed decks. The house and grounds/gardens are well kept and very inviting. The information we received about the place was clear and concise. It was very helpful. We came as 4: 2 adults, 2 kids. It can accommodate many more. If I would want anything it would be for more storage/closet/drawer space in the loft area where the kids chose to stay. The rest of the house was fine. We spent a good deal of the time hiking, biking and enjoying Lake Superior. 6 miles south is Washburn, WI, and I would recommend eating at Coco Cafe and Bakery for breakfast or lunch. DaLou's is a great choice for dinner. 6 miles north is Bayfield, WI, and I would recommend the Egg Toss Bakery Cafe for breakfast. Maggie's for lunch and dinner. Ethel's at 250, Pickled Herring Restaurant, Greunke's and Wild Rice Restaurant for dinner as well. The Candy Shoppe is great for ice cream and Big Water Coffee Roasters beats Starbucks anytime. There are concerts in the Park by the shore several times a week. I can't speak for the Wintertime. Our time there during June and July was fabulous. I imagine Spring and Fall are great as well. I would highly recommend the Artist's Lake-View Country home to anyone."
