  • Great cabin for a large group!

"We loved our stay here! We visited as a group of 8 with 2 dogs in tow and there was plenty of space for everyone. The fireplace was a huge plus for us, visiting in the middle of winter. There were loads of board games and trivia books for us to enjoy as well! The only real down side is that the bedrooms on the outer corners do not heat well and were very cold. Also, make sure to bring bottled water if you are not fond of well water. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend at this cabin and would love to visit again in the summer!"

  • A charming rental home with a fun nature hike to the lake.

"The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. We enjoyed the old utensils and glassware. Dinner in the dining room was a highlight. Time away from TV and electronics and playing games. Our children loved the nature hike down to the lake. Definitely got our exercise in each day! They caught a lot of fish out in our kayaks and on the boat we rented. The bakery, library, and city beach are in walking distance. An added touch in the house that would be nice is a washer/dryer and another bathroom on the main level with dirty little feet from outside. There is no lake view, which we missed, but knew that when we rented it. It was a really quaint home on the lake with enough space for our family of 6! Loved the experience."

"Paradise!! Deep Lake Lodge could not have been more PERFECT for our group of 6 women needing a post Thanksgiving getaway! What a place to re-charge before the Holiday Craziness !! The photos on the VRBO site are amazing BUT don't quite do justice to this comfortable, cozy, serene, private, spacious and gorgeous VRBO! Our time was spent mainly relaxing with some good wine and cooking up some wonderful food together in a gourmet kitchen. Enjoying a fire each evening, more wine, playing a game of pool, curling up with a good book, more wine, going for walks, a trip to Hayward for some shopping, etc... Deep Lake Lodge is perfect for all types of groups and families but if you are a group of women looking for this type of mellow retreat that you will never want to leave, this is the place! We plan to expand our group next time as the Lodge/home can sleep up to 14. (The bunkhouse will be closed until May - and is a WONDERFUL space as well!) Some of our friends enjoy scrapbooking or crafting and some of the group enjoys more outdoor activities i.e. nordic skiing and snow shoeing - perfect place to satisfy a variety of interests for any group! We very much appreciated that the Adams keep this property meticulously maintained and a bonus that it is only a 2 hr. drive from Minneapolis. Going to re-book asap and look forward to our next stay! Thanks so much Kent and Elaine!"
