Enjoy a wonderful vacation in our immaculate and newly redecorated upstairs owner’s duplex. Park your car and just relax! This charming beach house is ideally and uniquely located on one of the few LBI streets with a beach on either end. The island and our side street is only four short blocks wide here; about 12 houses either way from our home, you will find ocean and bay beaches. You choose the beach depending on the day and how you’re feeling! Our bay beach boasts a lifeguard, playground and pavilion while our lifeguarded ocean beach is newly replenished, with plenty of room to spread out. If you tire of the sun and sand, take a short stroll to the many shops, restaurants and snack spots nearby or enjoy a pick from our DVD selections. Of course, you can always just relax in the peaceful yard on our chaises or on our deck with a good book from our "beach library" and look towards the dunes or bay.
We have lovingly redecorated our home for our own enjoyment as well as yours. Enter the sliding doors from the spacious gated deck with its dining table, reclining chairs, gas grill and breezes. The living area features comfortable leather seating, a large TV with DVD player (and DVD selections to choose from), and a library of beach books for you borrow. If you must do work or check e-mail, Wifi and broadband connections are available. The bright eat-in kitchen with a tile-top table opens to the living area so everyone can be together.
There are three comfortable bedrooms, all with new high quality mattresses (a queen, a full and a twin with a pop-up twin) and plenty of drawer and closet space. Michelle is a born and bred Jersey girl and proud of it! She has beautiful memories of growing up with family vacations here on LBI. Andrew, originally from rural upstate NY, has married into a family of Jersey Shore lovers and has happily joined the club!
Why the Owner Chose Surf City
Owning a home on LBI, especially in Surf City, is a long time dream for us! We were thrilled to find an attractive property that offered such a fantastic vacation. Surf City is a lovely family oriented community that boasts excellent beaches along with vibrant commerce. Our home on 16th Street is well off the main thoroughfares, yet just a short stroll from both the ocean and bay beaches (a real unique plus) as well as shops and dining. We are delighted to share our home with others who appreciate the beauty of the Jersey Shore. We are especially happy to host many repeat guests who share our love of our wonderful beach getaway!
The Unique Benefits of this House
- Beaches - Being on the beach is a prime activity for us. Most of all however, we enjoy listening to the waves meet the shore on the ocean beach or lap gently on the sand on the bay beach.
- Walks - We enjoy a morning walk along Barnegat and Sunset, taking in the bay views, followed by a right turn and over to Ocean Ave. to enjoy the ocean. We top it off with a stop in our garden to relax in the shade on the chaise lounges and listen to the birds.
- Dining out - So many choices and so little time! We happily share our dining recommendations (including the only diner in the US to win the James Beard award, and the best ice cream shop on the island) with our guests.
- Relaxing - Evening chats on the deck, books or DVDs from our collection, gallery hopping in the neighborhood, cooking out on the grill for family and friends.
- Sunsets - Sunsets over the bay beach are an amazing experience. We sit on the benches and just drink it all in.

I got a good feeling about this house from the start when I first asked about it. Michelle answered me within a few hours with a highly detailed response that addressed most of my questions before I even asked them. I was impressed with her professionalism and friendliness. The keys arrived a few days before our vacation along with plenty of useful information to help us pack and get there without any problems. The house is exactly as described and shown in the photos- nicely furnished, comfortable - plus it is very very clean! The location is outstanding as promised - right in between a bay beach and ocean beach, and close to shopping without being on a busy street. Having both beaches just a few steps away was great! Michelle has prepared a helpful book with recommended restaurants and activities. On our one rainy day, it was especially handy, as was the library of books and DVDs in the house. I feel so lucky that we found this wonderful vacation spot! We look forward to coming back next summer!

This home is beautiful and exactly as the photos depict. It is as stated, close to both the beach and the bay. It is on a quiet street yet very close to shops and restaurants. The owner is prompt to answer questions and easy to reach. I would defiinitely recommend this property to a small family or perhaps two couples. There were several extra touches that were a nice surprise and made us feel at home. We also enjoyed having central air (which many homes in Surf City lack), the gas grill and our younger family members especially liked having wi-fi. This was our first visit to LBI or Surf City and we would defnitely return.

Having spent many summers vacationing at the Jersey shore, this property is a jewel of a find. With the bay and the beach both 2 blocks away, getting to the water is simple. We really enjoyed the beach and the ocean but the bay was so relaxing that we found it to be even more enjoyable. The house has many amenities that give it that home feeling. Being off the main boulevard, the setting is peaceful. All dealings with the owner Michelle were handled promptly and professionally. We didn’t want to leave and look forward to our next visit!

A Great Beach Getaway In 2007, I was a bit nervous renting a vacation property on-line. But my choice turned out to be excellent! Michelle and Andrew are gracious hosts. This is my third summer renting from them! Their home is spotless and very comfortable - just as the description and photos indicated. As an artist, I appreciate the lovely artwork and photos on display. The welcome book Michelle and Andrew prepared has been extremely helpful with information about the property, neighborhood, restaurants and activities. They have even updated it each summer. Everything in the apartment is well-organized, so we start our vacation right away. In the morning, I like sitting on the deck to enjoy the sun during breakfast while my husband and grandson prefer the backyard which is shadier. We love the location, being able to choose between the bay or ocean beaches which areboth a minute away. Being near shops and ice cream was convenient too. We look forward to coming back this summer too!

Upon our arrival, we received a Welcome Gift when we walked through the door. The three bedroom, one bathroom, living room, and kitchen was absolutely spotless. Michelle and Andrew, owners, were very friendly and easy to deal with when making the vacation arangements. We were sad to leave this beautiful Surf City home. It suited us perfectly and everything was just as promised! The apartment is lovely, clean and convenient. The owners have really thought of everything we might need for a great vacation: comfortable furnishings, well equipped kitchen, cable tv, dvds, books, games, air conditioning, wifi, outdoor seating, etc. etc. The beds were so comfortable we had the best sleep in a long time. We loved the location and being able to choose between the bay beach (fantastic sunsets!) and the ocean beach (great waves!). It was also so easy to get to shopping and diversions that we rarely got into our car. Thank you for the gracious hospitality, all the organized information and suggestions - and also the welcome gifts. We felt right at home from the minute we arrived. We look forward to returning next summer!

Home Away From Home - A Real Find!

What you see is what you get with this rental - the owners of this apartment have taken great care in preparing for guests, and that is what you will feel like instead of a renter. You will feel at home. It is clean, beautifully decorated and well appointed with modern appliances, including central air conditioning. We were three adults and a 7 year old child and we had plenty of room. We entertained guests on the spacious deck and enjoyed our dinner there while watching the sun set. The house is equidistant from both bay and ocean beaches - both within a two minute walk. The bay beach is a gift for parents of small children -the kids can swim to their hearts' content in the clean, life-guarded, waist-high water, while Mom reads without having to worry about surf. Plenty of interesting shops within easy walking distance assure an easy and interesting week - you can rent a bike, pick up dinner, stoll for ice cream, pick up a bood and shop for souveniers all within a couple of minutes. Fishing, boating, mini golf, kayaking, are all very close by. There is too much to do in just one week! And if it rains, the owners have outfitted the apt. with books, toys and dvds that will appeal to kids and adults alike. Very comfy beds and a quiet neighborhood provided a great sleep. Owner Michelle is lovely and extremely responsive, and goes out of her way to be welcoming, including a handwritten note and welcome gift upon arrival! You really can't do better than this property. I would recommend it to anyone.

So many times I am disappointed with my online "purchases". Almost nothing is as it seems. I must tell you that in the case of this beautiful, well appointed, comfortable, clean vacation rental, my expectations were MORE than met!! We immediately felt at home and began enjoying our vacation. I was impressed from the start because of the always courteous and prompt responses I received from the owner. When we arrived, we knew we had found our "beach home away from home". We will be back next year and hopefully for many years to come...and we are bringing the rest of our family to rent the downstairs apartment too :) The welcome book was most helpful and well organized. The kids loved both beaches, and I was thrilled with the "library" of wonderful titles (both dvd and books) that was available to borrow. I will be counting the weeks until we can return!
