The view from the 15th and 16th floor of this Penthouse is breathtaking! It is truly paradise here. Picture yourself relaxing on a private terrace at the top with 180 degree view of the ocean. Or, perhaps, admiring a spectacular sunset while in the private jacuzzi on the upstairs terrace. Words just can't describe the natural beauty of the little piece of heaven known as the Mexican Riviera. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy a carefree vacation.
The penthouse offers 4200 sq. ft. between 15th and 16th floors. You enter into a large living room and dining room with floor to ceiling glass sliders that open up from either side allowing you to bring the outdoors in. There are two Master Bedrooms each facing the ocean where you can step out onto the terrace to welcome another day in paradise. The other two bedrooms face the golf course and have a lush tropical view where you can also see the heart of Ixtapa across the street. The towers were designed where there are only 2 residences per floor so you will have privacy and be able to have the best of both worlds, oceanview and tropical beauty.
The location is right in the heart of Ixtapa. You can walk to restaurants, nightclubs, boutiques, shops, grocery stores, and drug stores. Amara Ixtapa is a new development located right on the main Ixtapa Beach, Playa El Palmar, where you will have all the amenities of a luxury resort, including daily maid service.
Guests can take the elevator down to beautifully landscaped grounds that includes 3 pools, one huge infinity pool for families that feels like it goes right into the ocean, another infinity pool for adults only, and a small wading pool for children. Guests can enjoy very reasonably priced drinks and snacks made by Amara's own bartender, Ricardo. There is a gate that leads right to the sand where guests can enjoy private palapa's with lounge chairs.

The Penthouse condo at the Amara resort in Ixtapa was fantastic. The unit was very comfortable for 3 couples or 4 couples. The outside sitting area on the rooftop veranda is as good as it can get. The pools and beach are great and are very well cared for. Ixtapa and Zihutaunejo are beatiful cities and are very safe and comfortable. Fantastic restuarant and ativities are in abundance.

A Simply Spectacular Vacation

Though the photos on the website gave us some idea of the stunning views of this penthouse suite, they could not fully capture the beauty we experienced when we first walked in - and then savored all week long. This magnificent place provided great rest for our family including comfortable pool, gorgeous long beach to walk on, great couches and beds to relax on, and most of all, a terrace with a breathtaking view. The short walk across the street offers a multitude of excellent restaurants for dinner. All of the people who work at Amara could not have been more friendly, helpful, or competent. And even though we were there during Spring Break in late March, the place did not ever feel overly crowded either on the beach or in town. I would highly recommend these restaurants: El Faro (with a cable ride afterwards down to the beach), Emilios, Mama Nora and Deborahs, Chili Beans for breakfast, and Del Tascana for Italian food. If you want a truly spectacular evening, book dinner at sunset at La Casa que Canta - I had a birthday dinner there I will never forget. This property is totally as advertised, clean and well maintained. The owners are extremely helpful with answering any questions or concerns. I hope someday we get to return!

We recently returned from our 15th year of vacationing in Ixtapa. We used to stay at the Barcelo, but about 4 years ago, started renting condos at the Amara. This is our second year of renting this Penthouse condo. We simply love it. Last year, we had four couples sharing the penthouse and never felt crowded. This year, due to a medical emergency, one of the couples could not go, so we had the three couples. I don't know what was my favorite part, sitting on the balcony in the morning sharing coffee and breakfast or cocktails at night on the rooftop. The ambiance of the living areas is fantastic. From the full glass sliding doors that fully open to let the ocean breeze in, to the beautiful alabaster pillar lamps that impart a warm glow at night, to the remote controlled mechanical sunshades on the balcony and rooftop, to the well-equipped kitchen with all necessary appliances, including a wine cooler. The Amara itself is in a great location in Ixtapa. It is in the center of a two-mile long beach and in very easy walking distance to banks, restaurants and the Supermercado. :-) I sit in Missouri shut in with a foot of snow outside. Our wonderful week at the Penthouse is still fresh in my mind and I wonder why we ever came home.

WOW is the word I used to describe this condo. It is a beautiful condo, nicely furnished and equipped, and located on a great beach. The owners are very nice, helpful, and easy to work with. The services at the condo (admin, security, maid, pool, pool bar, etc.) are top quality yet unintrusive. Highly recommended!

This is best place in Ixtapa. The view, the furnishings the location are all outstanding. I am already planning my next visit. This time I will stay longer. Leaving a cold snowing place and arriving here was like heaven. Ixtapa and this penthouse make it perfect 10 vacation.

Stayed here jan.3 12th, 2008. We can highly recommend this luxury home. It is like having your own home in Ixtapa, and what a home. Privacy or socializing at the pools and bar. right on the beach for easy walks. security but easy access to the heart of Ixtapa. Clean, great maid service, your own penthouse, what more could you want.nicest on the beach at Ixtapa.great owners. complete trust on the business side of the deal. we will be back. ask for more pics.the ones are good but do not completely display the overall luxury.enjoy
