Because we have received so many inquiries about the 'total' cost for a weekly rental we have changed our rates to an 'All inclusive' pricing structure. There are NO additional fees,taxes,etc to calculate. The use of our personal golf cart is INCLUDRED as well. ($275+ Value) Please keep this in mind when comparing other properties. Be sure to watch for taxes, cleaning, golf cart rental, etc. Theses fees can add substantally to the weekly rate.
We feel that our home is very well maintained and equipped and is above average in all areas. Because this is our home we keep it equipped with extras that you will NOT find in a traditional rental unit. Another important factor is that we use a profession cleaning company to care for our home. We do not rely on our tenants to have the house ready for the next occupant. We want you to walk into a fresh,clean, sanitized home. Having to clean a house before your departure can really put a damper on a GREAT week at the beach!! Our beach ' home' has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and is located on a quiet street in Oceanside Village. The entire house is decorated in a fun, beach-like theme. Laminate wood and ceramic tile floors throughout. Our home is very clean and the furnishings are updated.
The Master bedroom has a King bed,TV,ceiling fan and private bath with shower. The Guest Bedroom has Queen bed, ceiling fan and TV. The utility room is off this bedroom and has a full size washer and dryer.The 3rd bedroom in the front of the house will be great for the kids. It features a Queen size comfortable futon.There is a full bath in the hall.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to prepare meals for your hungry crowd.The living room has a sofa, 2 recliners and other seating. We have cable TV, games,videos,cards, puzzles and books for an occasional rainy or lazy day.
There's a covered car-port and parking for up to 3 vehicles.We provide a gas grill & patio furniture for your grilling and outdoor dining.Lots of outdoor chairs are also available.We recently picked up a nice, used set of golf clubs for our tenants use.Tupulo Bay Golf Club is right across the street. Dad can drop Mom and the kids off at the beach and head out for a round of golf. All on our golf cart!! Tupulo Bay also has a driving range, par 3, lighted night golf, putt putt and a GREAT Ice Cream Shop. You can access all of this by exiting the Village thru the Bermuda Bay exit and traveling straight across Rt 17 on the golf cart.
For your trips to the beach or the pools we have coolers,boogie boards,beach chairs,umbrella, sand toys, bocce, and best of all a golf cart for your trips to the beach as well as to the grocery store.(This is at least a $300 value if renting the cart through Oceanside Village).We also have 3 bicycles for the kids to visit the playground and ballfields.(Maybe the library ?)
After several years as renters at Oceanside Village we decided that it truly is our favorite place to relax,play and spend our leisure time with friends and family. We invite you to do the same. Please treat our home as you would your own.
Oceanside Village is a 100 acre resort community that offers many amenities; heated indoor swimming pool ,(for year round enjoyment) an outdoor pool ,basketball, bocce, lighted tennis courts and volleyball courts, a new community center, fitness center, children’s playground, 24 hour gated security, small lakes for fishing and our own private beach access, plus Oceanside dining @ the Conch Café . The beach is a short walk or a 3-minute golf cart ride away. There are clean restrooms and an outside shower at our beach parking lot.
A bit about the area....
There is so much to do, you might need to stay an extra week.We are located mid-way between Surfside Beach Pier and Garden City fishing Pier. The lakes inside of Oceanside Village are great for your younger anglers. Bicycles are also a great way to get around in the Village. Feel free to bring yours along.
Golf, golf, golf more than you can count. putt putt, exec golf, driving ranges, par 3 and major golf courses as far as one can see throughout the low country. Spring and fall offer incredible days on the courses.
There are over 1700 restaurants in the area serving steaks, seafood and everything in between. Choices range from fine dining to casual hamburger joints. Of course the Conch Cafe- our own dining treasure offers great seafood and yummy frozen drinks. You can even get there on the golf cart.
Shop till you drop!! Everything from malls, outlets & flea markets are close by.

OSV was quite nice, and I look forward to returning next winter. The home I rented was in need of some minor repairs and hard to heat due to drafty doors and windows. Met some very nice folks here and will take up friendships next season.Recommended for: Families with young children.

This house was a great home away from home! Everything was there. We really enjoyed the use of the golf cart and loved the neighborhood itself. My family and I had a great time at "Shore Beats Workin". Darlene was great to work with. The house has everything you need for a wonderful beach vacation. Really cute beachy theme too! We especially liked coming into a freshly cleaned home that we knew had been cleaned by a professional and also not having to worry about cleaning the house before we left. That made for a even more relaxing stay. We would definitely stay her again. Thanks Paul and Darlene!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Delightful, comfortable, and everything that you described your property to be! We SO enjoyed our stay for the week of 7/30-8/6. I could not get over the many, many "pluses" - having a cabinet w/ seasoning salt (when I had forgotten it) was a small thing but one of the many, many that made your house into our home for the week. The master bed was beyond comfortable. (I meant to look at the brand) And having the golf cart was fabulous!!! In fact, we came home and bought one. Your lively colors scheme and decor were perfect for vacation. We'd never stayed at OSV and were beyond thrilled w/ what it offered. Met w. Betsy and looked at several properties. Again, thank you for making this wonderful home available to us. If we don't buy one, we will definitely rent again. YOU were so kind and helpful. Thanks for calling to check on us too! We had a wonderful vacation in the Myrtle Beach area! We loved the house and the use of the golf cart! We have stayed in other houses in Oceanside Village in the past, and I think this was the best. It is located near the front of the development, which was convienient for quick trips to the Bi-Lo grocery store. The golf cart allowed us to get to the beach, pool, and play area quickly and comfortably. The house was equipped with everything you could possibly need to have a great stay at the beach. The house was very clean and well maintained. We were very pleased with everything and would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Families with young children.

Hey Paul & Darlene We have made it home! It took us 12 hours...crazy traffic backed up before the tunnels, took us 40 minutes to go 10 miles it was hot cars broken down on the sides of the roads..but we are here wishing we were back at the house. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed it! Paul you were right there was nothing there we did not need, home away from home! We will contact you guys for next year also I MISS IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!! (14 Day visit for Spring Break) Beautiful weather for the most part. Really enjoyed going to the beach in the morning to jog.The kids would come and ride their bikes on the beach.We really enjoyed all of the great shopping. Thank you for sharing your beach house with us. We had absolutley everything that we needed. The house was very comfortable and clean. (Stayed entire month of March) Had only a few good days at the beach. It was GREAT for Dick's golf. We spent 2 days in Charleston. Dick golfed 2-3 times each week. We enjoyed our stay very much. (Stayed the entire month of February 2011) We loved staying in your house. Thank-you for letting us rent from you. Our boys loved all the books and coloring books. My husband enjoyed cooking on the grill, even with the cold nights. About the owner: Hi! Welcome to our VRBO web site for our Oceanside Village vacation home. Our home is affectionatley named 'Shore Beats Workin'' We are Paul and Darlene McCarty from Greencastle, Pa. We have 3 grown sons and 7 granddaughters. We both own and ride Harley Davidson motorcycles. We have made several trips on our bikes to Montana, Wyoming, Utah,Tennessee,Maryland and North Carolina and have stayed at wonderful homes that we found and rented from VRBO. From log cabins in South Dakota to Beach homes on the Outer Banks, we have always been 100% satisfied. That is a big reason why we decided to list our vacation home on this site. Chances are we will retire and spend our 'golden' years in South Carolina.
Why the Owner Chose Oceanside Village:
We've been coming to Surfside Beach for Bike Week for many years. About 5 years ago some friends found us a home to rent in Oceanside Village for the week and we've never stayed anywhere else after that. We rented from various owners for several years. In 2008 we decided to sell a rental property that we owned in Maryland and replace it with a property in Oceanside Village. Of course all or our friends and family were excited when we told them. We still return each year for Bike Week, but also return with the grandchildren for a family vacation each summer.We also try to squeeze in some long weekends when we can.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We feel that Oceanside Village is the most versatile comunity in the area for vacationing . We love the easy golf cart ride to the beach as well as the safety and peace of mind that we have when all the kids come. They can ride bikes, go to the pool and playgrounds and we feel comfortable to let them 'roam' around a little on their own.
Although we are not yet at retirement age (a few more years) we have met and continue to meet many full time residents that are now retired and living in ther 'village' full time. Everyone is so friendly and it seems as if they have so many activities going on year around. Most of these activities are open to our guests as well.
Summer, of course brings families to the beach. One of our guests came here as a child and now is bringing her young family back to enjoy OSV and all that she remebers plus more.
Spring is a GREAT time to enjoy the many golf course in the area. It would take many trips to OSV to play all of them.
Sept/October are starting to be our favorite time to really relax and kick back at the beach. The pace is slower and the beach is less congested. By now the kids are back in school and you will see mostly adults throught the week, with families returnung on weekends for one last visit for the season. Dogs are also allowed on ther beach at this time and that makes many pet owners happy. Fall also offers wonderful days for golfing as well. Reading and doing crossword puzzles as well as walks on the beach are just some of 'non-active' activities that we enjoy. Over the last few years our golf clubs have been pushed aside for the motorcycles, but they are now dusted off and we plan to play this fall.
We were down for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years last year. This year we have decided to stay home with our families and have taken on a long-term rental from folks in Maine. They will be enjoying our home from mid-November thru mid- April.
