Romantic Getaway

Guest: Kenton Grypp (Gilbert, Az)
Date of Stay: 11/20/10 Review Submitted: 11/16/11

My wife and I are experienced VRBO'ers and this was our first time visiting Paris. Our transaction with Thomas was very smooth and easy. This property was the perfect place for us due to it's easy access to the metro and close proximity to the Eiffel Tower. One of our favorite things to do was watch the Eiffel Tower light up every night from the apartment window. The apartment was accurately described, thus there were no surprises upon our arrival. The neighborhood was quiet and charming with a view of the Eiffel Tower from the apartment. We would highly recommend this property for your visit to Paris. When we visit again we would love to stay here as we felt right at home in this quaint and comfortable apartment. The kitchen was very efficient, my wife cooked breakfast every morning before we ventured out. We really loved using the coffee press for our morning coffee, this was a new experience we enjoyed learning together. During our visit we shopped at the nearby fromagerie, pastry shop, wine shop, market and butcher, which were all within easy walking distance. Our favorite cafe was the Cafe' Le Piquet located just around the corner. Thomas provides two bicycles, a hair drier for my wife, an iron, ironing board and a full sized umbrella . There were a lot of nice little extras provided for the international traveler with limited luggage space! We liked Thomas' little notes we found around the apartment on how to operate various devices, it was very charming and helpful : ) I literally had to drag my wife to the airport because she wanted to stay longer!!

A perfect Parisian apartment

Guest: richard (St Paul MN USA)
Date of Stay: 09/12/11 Review Submitted: 11/16/11

We stayed here in September 2011 and had a great experience. The location is perfect. It is a quiet neighborhood with families, kids and schools. It is close to several Metro lines. Thomas provided everything we needed and Katherine was available, warm and friendly. We soon felt as if this was our home and we were (almost) Parisians. Incidentally, there was a nice hotel right around the corner whose rate was almost 600 Euros per night, so this is a very charming and quiet place. We recommend it highly for two people who want to spend a week or more in Paris. The apartment was clean, light-filled and well equipped, just as promised.

Great Experience, Would Stay Again

Guest: Curt (Kansas City, Missouri)
Date of Stay: 09/27/11 Review Submitted: 10/06/11

My wife and I stayed in this flat from September 27-October 4, 2011 and would stay here again in a New ork Minute. It is a bit small but most in this range are very similar. We are planning to return to Paris next year for two weeks and will stay here if available. The location is what sets this place apart I think. There is a Metro stop literally 2 minutes away that serves 3 lines, 6, 8 and 10. From these lines you can get anywhere easily with usually only one transfer. There are several grocery stores within 3-5 minutes as well as many resturants and a Starbucks a block away. We were able to prepare our breakfasts in the flat, yogurt, fruit, coffee and get on our way each day. There is a great resturant around the corner, La Blanche Hermine, for salads and crepes that was awesome and cheap. We 'self catered' many dinners from the surrounding resturants to save some $$ and it was great. There is a Velib bike rental kiosk around the corner which was great fun. The flat is in a quiet neighborhood after dark, there is a school across the street and was cool to see the kids coming to school on scooters and such. The Eiffel Tower is a very short walk 5 minutes maybe which is also a great place to catch the bus, the #69 stops there and is a lot of fun to ride. That bus line takes you to all the tourist spots, or catch the #82 to Luxembourg Gardens which is a must see location in Paris. It all comes down to location and this place has it all as far as my wife and I are concerned. It has a private washer/dryer that you don't share which is a big plus. Pack light!! You don't go yo Paris to stay in the room and watch TV, just get some sack time and a shower and a bite to eat and this place checks all those boxes for me. On a previous visit we stayed in a hotel and this was so much better. There is a lady across the hall that speaks excellent English and was a big help getting us settled. As I said we plan on coming back next year and will stay here if available. Can't get a better endeosement than that. Thanks Thomas and Cathine for making our stay in Paris so wonderful.

Cozy apartment in a great neighborhood

Guest: Jenny (Shoreline, WA)
Date of Stay: 08/19/11 Review Submitted: 08/28/11

We were very happy with this apartment. Yes, it is small but in Paris, for the price, I didn't expect anything else. Someone said 3 is a bit much and I do agree. It was my husband, my 7 year old and myself. Since the bed in the bedroom was a little small, she and I shared it. My husband slept on the fold out couch. The sleeping arrangements worked great for us. Tom helped us get into our apartment and he was very kind, gave us hints about the city, transportation, places to go and things to do. He made us feel very warm and welcome. I knew going in that the property was small and it didn't bother me a bit. It's a very sweet apartment and was perfect for hanging out a bit, sleeping then leaving to go see Paris. I would happily go back again.

What a joke!

Guest: Anita (California)
Date of Stay: 07/16/11 Review Submitted: 08/18/11

This apartment was just too small for 3 people. The pictures in this site are deceiving due to not showing the walls on each one. The bedroom window is shown along with a side table but the other wall was used for the bed and there was no room for a side table. There were notes all over the apartment to warn us to be careful with the glass table, the lamps, the window all were whimisical (not working right). The furnishings were impractical for this apartment. There was no closet and only hangers over the bed to hang clothes.*** Look at the sq. footage very closely before you pick this one.*** The manager was a sweet lady and very nice. I didn't come to Paris to read books and watch DVD's or listen to music. We were out most the time so we were able to make the most of it. Will not be back to this one.

Owner response:First of all, thank you for your review, it will improve the quality of annonce and the appartment. The apartment is 320 sft like annonce say, perfect for a couple, and couple with a child. Bedroom is cosy with a comfortable 2 persons bed, with a view on the eiffel tower. There are little notes in the flat just to be nice and clear with renters and to help them in their stay. Best regards. Thomas

Wonderful, convenient apartment

Guest: Laurie (Makanda, IL)
Date of Stay: 03/18/11 Review Submitted: 04/05/11

We stayed at this beautiful, light-filled apartment in March 2011. It was very homey and comfortable, full of books, dvds, original paintings and a well-stocked kitchen. The neighborhood is very quiet and has an extremely convenient metro stop that is the intersection of 3 lines. It was very easy to travel quickly to any part of central Paris and was very easy to come "home" for a little rest between museums or walks. I would definitely recommend this apartment to a friend or relative because of its comfort and convenience. Its also a great value for the money as most hotels in the area are substantially more expensive. Overall, this is a wonderful choice as a short-term Parisian "home".

Owner response:Thanks for your review Laurie and i hope to see you again in Paris and in my apartment with a real pleasure..

Lovely Pied-a-Terre

Guest: Pamela R (Concord, MA USA)
Date of Stay: 03/17/10 Review Submitted: 03/29/10

This apartment turned out to be everything we hoped for! The location was great...plenty of bakeries, restaurants, and even a well stocked supermarket within an easy walk. Loved exploring Rue Cler with its many vendors and the metro is steps away. Quiet area residential area within a block of many services. We enjoyed hearing the children arrive for school in the morning, the church bells chiming the time, and the view of the Eiffel Tower from the kitchen window. Thomas, the owner, was very helpful in his description of the apartment, and Catherine, who lives across the hall, was wonderful in welcoming us and being available for any questions. We would definitely return to this apartment again and would recommend it to our friends and family for a cozy pied-a-terre in a lovely, convenient, non-touristy location.

Date of Stay: 09/16/09 Review Submitted: 09/16/09

This apartment was exactly as described. For two it would be very comfortable, for three of us it was a bit "cozy" but did not take long to adjust. From a tourist's perspective the location could not be better. Everything you imagine about Paris was there, see the top of the Eiffel tower from the kitchen and walk to it in 15 minutes. The church clock sounds the time, too many nearby bakerys and cafes to count and the Metro (subway) is close. If you do stay there you will likely meet Catherine next door. She watches over the apartment, greets and assists on arrival, and is just a joy and big help with any questions or issues. We found the apartment to be clean, comfortable and certainly a "good deal" as far as cost. We were impressed that everything went so smooth. Thomas provides what he says and if we ever have a chance to return to Paris we would definitely try to stay there again. We were visiting from Mass. (USA) If you are interested in any further description from a tourist's perspective send me an e-mail. tedsilva at comcast dot net Wherever you stay... you will enjoy Paris. Ted S.

Date of Stay: 06/29/09 Review Submitted: 06/29/09

The apartment is lovely. It worked well for my husband, son, and I. It would work well for just 2 people as well. The apartment is nicely stocked with kitchen items, linens, and cleaning/washing products. It is a very airy and bright place. The windows are excellent at blocking out any noises; however, the neighborhood was fairly quiet. The view from the apartment is beautiful. The views of the Eiffel Tower from the kitchen and bedroom are great, especially at night. The neighborhood is convenient with 3 metro lines and a taxi stand. It was only a block or so from the metro. The shops and restaurants near the apartment are also very good. The Eiffel Tower and Champ du Mars are within very easy walking distance. There is also a playground just around the corner. The elevator always worked without fail, which was important on the 5th floor. Thomas left a wealth of information. There are also lots of books and CDs. The cable had a large selection of channels. Catherine was incredibly helpful and just right across the hall. The washer/dryer were also very convenient and had good instructions. I would recommend this apartment to anyone and would stay there again without hesitating.

Your apartment was charmless, quiet, safe, comfortable. It is beautifully finished and maintained. Great view of Eiffel Tower. We were one of the first to stay here. Our arrival were perfectly thanks to catherine, she went through everything with us so we understood it all before she left. We knew we could ask something at any time. The surrounding area was really great..All the grocery needs, great boulangerie, restaurants, fun shopping..And bus and metro are nearby the flat. Wonderful to walk in the parc du champ de mars and along the Seine. Would stay there again without hesitation!
