This beautifully renovated 120-year-old schoolhouse, located five minutes from the coastside town of Half Moon Bay, California, is open, spacious and cozy - with wonderful views from every window. A tasteful blend of furnishings and decor create a warm atmosphere of rustic elegance. The gourmet kitchen, with custom cabinets, Viking Stove and stainless steel appliances, opens onto the living room with wall-to-wall windows and a stone fireplace - ideal for socializing while you cook. The dining room overlooks the canyon, and the large den has shelves full of books, movies and games - with a huge couch to enjoy them all.
Heated floors and radiant heat throughout. Flower, vegetable and herb gardens - and farm fresh eggs from our seven free-range, friendly hens!
Sleeping accommodations include a large master bedroom with a queen-sized bed, two bedrooms with full-sized beds and two full bathrooms, including a Victorian clawfoot tub (with shower). All of the rooms have views of the gardens and canyon.
Half an hour from San Francisco and Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay is known for its great hiking, biking, surfing and kayaking, as well as wonderful local restaurants, shops, music and theater. The Ritz Carlton Hotel, two world-class golf courses, and several tennis courts and fitness clubs are located less than five minutes away.

Why the Owner Chose Half Moon Bay
I had been looking for a country property close to town and beach for awhile. One day while riding my bike up the canyon I saw the FOR SALE sign on a house I'd never even noticed before. Next day I made an offer - then spent the next 5 years slowly renovating it. My friends thought I was crazy at the time. Now they come to visit whenever they can!

Fresh eggs every day, hiking and biking out the door - but best part is the symphony of natural sounds that changes every day: the birds chattering, the creek flowing, the trees dancing in the breeze, the soft clucking of our hens -- and of course the waves hitting the shore a couple miles down the road. Also, it's only about 40 minutes to San Francisco -- so we go whenever we want an urban experience.
