Brevard cottage description
We fell in love with this mountain cottage the first time we saw it. There is a wrap around porch with rocking chairs, where you can rock and enjoy the wooded view. We would love to share it with you.
It is 10 acre within a quiet, safe, gated community. The Master Bedroom and Full Bath are on the first floor. There are two bedrooms and full bath are upstairs.
All rooms including the front porch have ceiling fans (except baths & kitchen). You may not need to use the ceiling fans as there is always a wonderful breeze blowing across the mountains. The home has central heat and air conditioning.
On the first floor is the Master Bedroom with a New Queen size bed, closet and dresser. The first bedroom upstairs has a King Size bed using a day/trundle bed with a Serta 4-inch memory foam mattress topper and contour pillows for extra comfort. There is also sofa that opens into a twin bed a foam mattress is supplied for it. This bedroom also has dresser and a TV with DVD/VCR player. The other upstairs Bedroom has two double beds and a bunk bed.
There is a new infant crib and a twin bed guard for toddlers. All beds have mattress and pillow covers, linens, blankets and quilts. An extra large sleeping bag is also available. This allows for spacious room, yet numerous sleeping arrangements.
The dining room table seats eight, and opens to seat 16. There are over 16 place settings of dishes and silverware. For children there are plastic dishes and bowls, as well as a highchair and booster seat.
In the living room there is a wood burning fireplace, comfortable furniture, TV, Radio, DVD/VCR & CD players. DVD/VCR library, games, puzzles, books, cards; something for everyone: TV Converter box and Unidirectional antenna. Phone with limited service; no long distance calls You May use a calling card. A new cell tower was built in the area the summer of 2008 allowing Verizon Cell and Internet service outside and inside the cottage.
Both the Dining Room and Living Room have skylights.
3 Large Pillows and matching Fleece 4x6 covers are handy to sit on the floor or wrap up to sit outside.
The kitchen is well equipped with a refrigerator (with ice maker), stove & pans, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, blender, and bread maker. There is a garbage disposal but no dishwasher. You will find plenty of cooking utensils. Three feet of the kitchen counter has been lowered to accommodate the handicapped. The stove is a flat top, easy to use, with controls on the back, out of the reach of small children.
The laundry area has a washer and dryer. There is an ironing board and iron. The bathroom has plush, Biltmore towels, soap, shampoo, lotion, and hair dryer.
Most all doors on the first floor are wide and have lever handles. The furniture is arranged to accommodate a wheelchair bound person.
The house is 1350 square feet. The wide porch on three sides of the house is roomy and relaxing with plenty of seating. A swing and hammock are on the side porches for your relaxation, including a table with four chairs on the corner of the deck. There is a propane gas grill. Also Horseshoe and 'Throw Golf' games.
Everyone loves to sit around the open fire pit and cook hot dogs and S'mores, or rock on the porch at night and listen to the sounds of nature.

EXCELLENT home for anyone but especially for individual in wheelchair! Chair lift made our visit with Mom so much easier! Very nicely decorated home. Graveled, somewhat steep - but short - drive up to house - just to prepare you in advance. Lovely wrap-around porch with lots of rockers and nice porch swing. VERY relaxing and peaceful. Beautiful waterfalls in are - Off Highway 276 South. GREAT lunch at Mayberry's in Brevard. O.P. Taylor's toy store much fun and other neat stores in Brevard.

Our church group enjoyed the cabin and many of the ladies were impressed by the quilts on each bed. The chair lift for one of our members was ideal and made it so easy for him to access the house and also the downstairs bathroom was also a great help for him and his wheelchair. We enjoyed the porch and fire pit. The church group left on Saturday and some of my friends came on Sunday for the remainded of the week. We too enjoyed the porch, and watching movies when we were not exploring Mt. Pisgah, Brevard and Hendersonville. We enjoyed our stay in the cabin and everything that we needed was there. The fact that there was no wi-fi did not hender our experience, those with Verizon had no trouble getting a signal. We saw a deer in the front yard, we had a visit from a mother bear and her three cub wondering around the fire pit. We even saw a white squirrel in Rosman. The only draw back of our trip was the long steep gravel drive way to the house. The handicap van had a hard time making the trips back up to the cabin and I also experienced rough times as I returned to the cabin after trips out. Four wheel drive would be a recommendation for those renting the cabin.

Owner response: We are glad that you enjoyed your week at our cottage. We plan to make driveway improvements by the end of the year. Sorry for the inconvenience.
This cabin was awesome! It was the perfect get-away to relax and reconnect with family. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who loves a mountain experience. With so many options for hiking, sight-seeing, and adventure right around the corner you can't go wrong. The house was clean, cozy, warm, and perfect. It more than accommodated our family of 5, in fact we would love to come back with the grandparents or friends there was so much room. My favorite part was the rocking chair porch.

My family and I spent a wonderful week at this cottage. It was cozy and comfortable. Even though it rained almost every night, it was peaceful to sit on the porch and listen to the rain. The kids enjoyed watching the videos that were there, and everyone enjoyed the fire pit. The bed were comfortable. The furnishings are lovely and perfectly suited for the cottage. We spent a lot of time in Brevard and at the Dupont State Forest looking at waterfalls. We also went thrift shopping in Rosman and Brevard. Excellent shopping! We look forward to returning to this peaceful place.

Great Mountain Getaway
Great Mountain Getaway
We stayed at the Blue Arrow Cottage during Memorial Day weekend and can't say enough good things about this place. The house was beautifully decorated and very family friendly. The setting was very quiet and peaceful. There were plenty of dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc much more than would be available in most hotel/motel efficiency suites. Pretty much everything we needed was available. The only negative, and this is a very small one, is that we could not get reception on either of the TVs. However, each TV had a DVD/VCR and there were movies available in both formats if you wanted to view them or take you own. The good side of this, is that we had even better quality time together because of this. We explore the woods and creeks during the day and built a fire in the firepit both nights. It was just a great, great time. Our cell phone reception wasn't great, but I did have a Verizon Mi-Fi and we had a great internet connection with that, enough to stream videos without buffering. One caveat t would be renters, the nearest "grocery" store in Rosman is an IGA which pretty much is a convenience store with convenience store prices. If you're coming in from the Brevard, there are several grocery stores that would be a better choice. I don't know about coming in the SC, but you may want to stop and buy groceries before getting to Rosman. Again, that's not a negative, just some friendly advice. One of the great things about being secluded is how quiet and beautiful it is, so it's a very minor trade off. We highly recommend the Blue Arrow Cottage. My wife is already talking about a "Girl's Getaway" and we'll definitely visit again as a family.

Our trip to NC Mtns was for fly fishing on the Davidson River. There was five fellows staying at the cottage during our time fishing. The cottage was as stated by the owner, quiet, well kept, very comfortable, great beds, and well appointed. The owners were very easy to work with and prompt with cleaning deposit return. I would stay here again and enjoy it as much as we did during our visit. Mike A

We had a delightful experience at the Blue Arrow. The cottage was in a safe, secluded area in the midst of God's country. We loved the porch and spent most of our time at the house on the porch or by the fire pit. We were minutes away from hiking to waterfalls, swimming holes and Sliding Rock. We enjoyed our adventures.
