My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and wanted a getaway where we could bring our two little girls along with us. This was the perfect choice!! Cathy's home really is a 5 star home away from home. Everything is top of the line, perfect and clean. It was so nice to go somewhere that is so spotless and had everything we needed. It was relaxing, quiet and a beautiful escape. The home is full of warmth, love and happiness. Thank you Cathy for letting our family create some special memories we will treasure forever.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What can I say about this beautiful house, it was clean, it was very nicely furnished, high end appliances, magnificent views of the lake from every room especially the living room/kitchen. We loved the open space concept. The patio was great. As soon as we arrived the owner, Cathy called to make sure we found the house & if we needed anything, which was very kind and thoughtful of her. We were so lucky, when we first arrived, there was fresh snow & then it started snowing. Our twins had so much fun. The house was very close to the village, which was perfect. There were a lot of restaurants, shops, an Arcade and an Amusement Park. We had breakfast, the kids played at the Arcade, they fed the ducks then had a few rides at the amusement park. Thank you Cathy for allowing us to stay at your beautiful house. We enjoyed every minute we were there. We would highly recommend your house to our friends and relatives.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Every year a group of girlfriends meet for a weekend retreat. This year was our 28th year and our second year at the lake house. From the moment you open the door you feel at home. The house invites you to relax , laugh with friends, take nice long walks or take a swim in the lake. The main area is open so even cooking is shared with friends. Coffee in the mornings on the deck off the living room becomes enchanted with views in every direction, morning boaters cruising by and laughter in the distance. I keep telling my husband I want to bring him one of these days too! This place will definitely continue to be a retreat for myself and friends. My wife and I rented this beautiful home for our 40th wedding anniversary. The home is gorgeous and the setting is spectacular. The room decor and bedding are what you would find in the finest hotels. There are beautiful views of Lake Arrowhead from multiple rooms and the deck. The kitchen is gourmet and well appointed. We enjoyed use of the kayaks and plan on taking their boat out when we bring our grandkids with us on our next visit. There is a wonderful pathway from the house that will take you on a beautiful walk from the home to the Village in about 30 minutes. The stress of the city melted away after a few minutes on the deck overlooking the lake. We look forward to many future stays at this charming home.Did you find this review helpful? WE LOVED THIS PROPERTY. I took two branches of my family with children on this trip and both adults and kids had a great time. We enjoyed being on the inside and outside of the home. The kitchen was well equipped for gourmet cooking. The house was beautifully appointed and organized. In addition all of the bedrooms were furnished with a comfortable bed and linens. High quality furnishings with a view that was unusually beautiful. We spent time on the upper deck enjoying the sunset and warm fresh air. We would go down to the lake several times a day to use the paddle board and boats. Swimming was also wonderful. We took trips around the lake to enjoy the other homes and scenery. Big bear was also close to be utilized for picnicking or hiking. The whole trip was like living in another world, it was difficult to leave and return to the city. We would hope to return there again. Exceeded our expectations for a rental. Thank you many times over!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

my husband and i stayed at the lake house with our 17 month old daughter and two other adults in june. we had a remarkably relaxing and wonderful time. the house is beautiful and spacious. all of the appliances and fixtures are brand new and first-class. we cooked many dinners in the kitchen and grilled on the patio several times - the view from the deck is breathtaking. cathy was extraordinarily helpful in setting up the house for us - she supplied a full-size crib with bedding and a diaper pail as well as a few gates that we used to keep our toddler safe on the deck. we loved having the beach club access for our daughter who very much enjoyed the playground and lake there. we would be thrilled if we had the chance to return - it was a peaceful and relaxing family vacation!Did you find this review helpful? What an incredible vacation home experience! From the moment we arrived, we were so appreciative of their design and architectual details. The home has a great balance of openness combined with little nooks and window seatings, etc. We travelled with our two sons, and they were well entertained with the amazing view of the lake and nature's activities. My husband and I plan our vacaions around food so the kitchen is an important feature in any rental we pursue. This kitchen design would please any foodie and this home carries high-end kitchenware and appliances. Catherine is so pleasant, and she was sure to make us feel that her home is our home! We look forward to our return to this fantastic rental.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house is AMAZING! The rooms decor was superb, the beds lush and soft, the towels and bedding of the highest quality, the kitchen was fully equipped and organized, the views spectacular, the dock was playful and relaxing, and the owner made the entire trip EASY. We had the most amazing time at the Lake House and thoroughly appreciated the love, attention, and hard work that the owners put into every detail of the house. The location of this home was close to the village and only took us 2 hrs to get there from LA. There were plenty of areas to hike and fishing right off the dock was so convenient! We even caught four 5lb trout! I would highly suggest this home to anyone planning a vacation or trip or anyone wanting to just get away for a weekend.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I enjoyed the lake view almost 24/7! The decor and warmth of the Lake House was welcoming from the moment we arrived. My husband and I trekked down to Lake Arrowhead itself, where we did a bit of fishing and dreaming. Everything was than better than we imagined. Great experience was had by the Olson family of Manhattan Beach! Thanks to Cathy for the special touch of a Christmas tree!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

About the owner: My husband and I live in Santa Monica CA and have owned 'THE LAKE HOUSE' for over 24 years. Our children were young when we bought the house and they have so many wonderful memories of time spent there. Our children are grown and have moved away and while we would never so much as think about selling The Lake House, we are happy to share this magical spot with other families.

We love pine trees, mountains, crystal clear lakes and the four seasons. We found all we were looking for when we bought our Lake House 24 years ago (it seems like yesterday.) It is so much like Switzerland in its beauty. Our home is right on the water and the views are amazing from every room, bringing the unique peace and quiet of another time into each room in the house. The drive to Lake Arrowhead from Los Angeles is only 1 1/2 hours - traffic permitting. For years, we’ve been able to spend most weekends at The Lake House giving our family the best of both Los Angeles and Lake Arrowhead as well as many priceless memories.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our Lake House has easy access from the road and is just steps away from the Lake Arrowhead. There you will find our private dock & boat with a sandy beach near by. The house is nestled in pine trees away from everything. It is so very quiet during the week as well as most weekends. It is a perfect hideaway for a romantic getaway as well as family fun-filled holiday. While we love taking our friends to the Lake House (sometimes never even leaving the property all week-end) you will find that it is the perfect escape when you just want to get away by yourself to repair, relax and ‘find’ yourself. In addition to the unique bedrooms (each one done with its own personality) and the open and comfortable living areas, you’ll find cooking with friends to be the best in our open, gourmet kitchen. To that end, you will find one of the finest grocery stores in California just 10 minutes away in Blue Jay. For anything else you need or want, Lake Arrowhead Village is a 5 minute drive away. The Village is known for its discount shopping, restaurants, and a 5 star spa & gym at The Lake Arrowhead Resort Hotel. If you’re in the mood for a walk, there is path just steps down from our Lake House that will take you for a beautiful 30 minute walk by the lake to the Village where you can rent a boat with a water ski instructor, take a ride around the lake on the Arrowhead Queen. There is snow skiing and sledding only 20 minutes from the home.
