A beautiful and elegant apartment, situated in Via delle Carrozze, right in front of the Spanish Steps. It comprises three double bedroom (two master bedrooms, one twin bedded room), with sitting-dining room with a sofa bed, three bathrooms, and an ample and efficient kitchen.

The apartment is situated at the first European floor (second floor in the US), without elevator, but with a few steps, easy to climb. It is 140 square meters large (appr. 1,450 sq. Ft.). It is silent and bright.

It is also very well equipped (high quality AC in every room, HI-Fi stereo, telephone, washing machine also drying, dishwasher iron, microwave, iron board, dishwasher, color TV in every room, orange squeezer, American coffee percolator, Italian coffee pots, completely equipped kitchen, chess board, card and games set etc.). The property now has free fast 24/7 internet connection.

In this apt. the Italian national hero Garibaldi and his wife, Anita (a heroine in her own right), stayed in 1848, this is why the property is dedicated to her.

It is also dedicated to Anita Ekberg, the actress of Fellini's "La Dolce Vita", with Marcello Mastroianni. Few films have the same iconic power of this film, which embodies not only Rome, but also the cinema itself (especially the famous scene in which Anita Ekberg immersed herself in the Trevi Fountain, which is near the apartment).

The property was entirely renovated with utmost attention to detail both regarding the property (for ex. wooden floors in all the property, just renovated bathrooms, brand new equipment also etc.), the furniture ("modern classic"), the furnishing and the fittings.

We stayed in the "Anita" apartment near the Spanish Steps in June / July 2012. The location is excellent - the apartment is around the corner + 1 block from the Spanish steps and the area has high end shopping, good dining and a grocery store a couple of blocks away. It was walking distance (<= 1.5 km each way) for us to get to all the major sites: the Colosseum, Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, etc. We had a larger group: three adults, two children (9&10) and a baby. Mauro arranged airport transportation and had a crib waiting for us when we arrived. The apartment was clean and had all the amenities we needed. We really enjoyed the extra space: three bedrooms AND three baths were nice to have, and the dining area + living room was a great way to relax and unwind after days spent exploring Rome and Italy. We appreciated this apartment more as we went to hotels the rest of our trip through Europe (Paris & Munich): having a large table to be able to eat together at "home" was nice, being able to cook meals and store leftovers was also convenient and having three bedrooms for "quiet time" was fabulous. The cost was much less than two hotel rooms as well. Everything was as reflected in the listing & photos. There was good solid "Rome" food (Pizzas and Pastas) right downstairs, and a better restaurant called "Life" a couple of blocks away. Mauro was great at answering a ton of questions. We highly recommend this apartment based on our experiences and hope to return to this or another listing by Mauro & team. I had been a little concerned that there weren't a lot of reviews, but our experience was fantastic.

Rome was the highlight of our Italian vacation and this apartment was the perfect place to stay at. Right near the Spanish Steps, it is nested in a quiet pedestrian-only street with cozy cafes, restaurants and fancy shops. It is large - 3 ample bedrooms, 3 spotless bathrooms, an ample sitting/dining r., a good-sized kitchen with all the utensils to cook. It was clean and in pristine conditions, it comes with all mod cons and a reasonable price compared to the hotel suite where we stayed at last time we visited Rome. The handling of the property manager was an unexpected bonus. He was extremely timely, courteous and informative throughout the inquiry stage, and he organized our car service and a daily excursion. He is very dependable in his obligations. He supervised all aspects of our stay with his assistant, and upon check-in he gave us scores of tips and suggestions. As European he is quite knowledgeable of our country (US) and he likes us. We'll definitely rent this property again.

I would have given the property five stars if it were not for the challenging personality of the property manager, let's call him Dr. Property Manager. While a bit odd on the front end, it was not until after the contract was signed and payment was made that Dr. Property Manager became rude. In an email, he stated that "you and your compatriots (Americans) are rude and we know how to deal with you in Italy". After the string of arrogant and rude emails, I thought he must be mentally disturbed so I did a web search with Google. This search uncovered years of colorful comments about Dr. Property Manager and his belligerent history with renters. Why would any owner use his services? Regardless, the apartment (known as Anita) is as depicted in the VRBO profile. It is spacious, well decorated, well maintained and in a superior location. The restaurant on the street level has wonderful food and an excellent staff. The owner of the building is a very sweet and pleasant woman. I would rent this property again and highly recommend it ---- only if you can avoid working with Dr. Property Manager. Regretfully,

Owner response: This client behaved haughtily and unfairly when he got closer to actually rent the property, after the initial stage in which he was normally polite. In particular, he would not finalize the arrival arrangements, and he changed them 4 times (!) in the last 3-4 days before the rental beginning. His changes were substantial, at times he wanted to check-in during standard hours (after 1 PM) and sometimes in the morning, which meant every time changing the organization and work of the assistant and cleaners (during an August period in which they are difficult to organize), and it also meant changing the check-out time of the clients who had stayed until that morning (they asked to stay a few more hours). All this never without a "sorry", as if it were due, and for trivial reasons. Leaving this aside, he booked and paid for 3 persons, while his party had up to 5 persons. When this was brought to his attention, and it was notified that supplements by contract applied, he rejected this by saying that the reasoning was not correct because in some days there would be only two persons (?). Out of hospitality, we didn't charge supplements, despite the contract infringement. In essence, he wanted people do whatever pleased him at any time, without respect and fairness, and he was self-righteous and self-complacent, denying his unfair and ugly behavior. We did mention that he was behaving in an ugly way, and we asked him to stop or we would resort to the Italian authorities. Out of his usual haugthyness, he also felt vexed, and as spite he wrote this review, instead of being grateful for allowing 2 persons to stay without paying, and for bearing all the inconvenience he caused to many persons working (and to the clients who stayed before him). Signed: The property management and the owners.

My family of five (Wife, 3 older teenage children & I) stayed in this apartment during the first week in March of 2011. The location of this apartment could not have been any better! Just a few meters from the Piazza di Spagna in Rome. From the apartment we were able top walk to all the historic sites and museums. There is a small supermarket very close by for all the essentials. The apartment itself was very comfortable. Outside, the building is very old, but inside the apartment was completely upgraded with up to date bathrooms, windows (that kept out the cold and any noise) and kitchen appliances. There is nothing bad that can about the apartment that can be said.
