This is a warm and cozy a-frame cottage with a beautiful mountain view from our new huge deck. The screened porch seats 10 comfortably and has a dining area with the same view. There is lots of glass looking out over the water and mountains. Our inside dining area seats 8 to 10 and the kitchen is fully equipped, including blender, coffee maker, microwave, and cookware.
There is lots of extra space for blow-up mattresses in the living room for additional sleeping. There are many games and books for your enjoyment as well as a computer with games available. We do not have an internet connections but Verizon has pretty good coverage and our laptop works well there. Rental boats and jet skis are available at the marina. There are plenty of eating facilities in Robbinsville, 5 miles away. Water is clean and great for swimming. Gas grill available.

My best friend, of 27 years, and I have a standing ritual to spend the first week of May every year, together with our husbands! Both of our wedding anniversaries are in May as well as both of our husbands birthdays! We all love to ride motorcycles, so we got in touch with the owners and stayed at this incredible retreat for a week! Everything you need is within a short driving distance, but once you get to the house, you'll never want to leave! It was so relaxing and wonderful to be able to take off riding the motorcycles on The Tail of th Dragon and Cherahola Skyway and so on, then come home and relax out on the screened in deck with a home cooked meal! Only to go down to the dock and fish or just sit! The view is spectacular and the whole experience is a pleasurable one! We will definately make this our yearly retreat!! Thanks so much, Jane for letting us share a piece of your Heaven on Earth!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: We are SO glad you enjoyed it!! Thank you for the nice review!! Jane

A home a way from home, only BETTER...relaxing, comfortable....and so much fun watching my grandchildren and children enjoy all the wonderful entertainment this lakehouse santeetlah lake offered...the house is very accomdating and had everything one could wish for...the location is conveinient for shopping. taking long walks was great , every one was so friendly and welcoming. we had dinner at a really nice restrauant, you had to go up a mountain, but believe me it was worth the drive ..the food was wonderful...we enjoyed the farms that we could go to and buy fresh produce..and pick our own if we preferred, and we did pick some cherries. this is a warm and beautiful lake house....I would love to go every year with my family. thank you for making your home available to us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

If there are greater views than sitting on this big deck, looking over the cleanest Lake in the US, I would love to have someone tell me where it is. A comfy home like atmosphere and a view of the water from every room. So quiet at night you can slip off to sleep listening to the water lap the sea wall. That is how close you are to the water. An enormous dock that you can spend the day on and when it gets hot just roll over into the water. I just feels as if someone invited you to their home for vacation.A family or couples vacation you will never forget.Play games, watch movies or go for long walks. It has it all. You are 20 minutes from rafting the Nantahala River , a big grocery in Robbinsville, 6 miles away and just as close is Joyce Kilmer Forest for hiking...although you will have a hard time tearing yourself away from the lake. It is casual and comfortable and if you cannot unwind here than you need to reevaluate your life....no distractions just total relaxation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

My family (3) shared this beautiful A-frame with another family and it was heaven on earth. Waking up to the spectacular view of the misty morning Smokie Mts, sipping coffee while sitting on the deck overlooking the lake was how we started every wonderful morning there! The house had everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable get away. The lake is pristine, and was the center of attaction for our entire stay. I can't wait to return!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: Our family has owned property at Lake Santeetlah since 1962 and we love it here!!!
Why the Owner Chose Lake Santeetlah:
The lake is clean and most of it is on the Nantahala National Forest so is relatively quiet with low traffic on it. This is probably one of the most beautiful areas of the southeast.
