Paris Arrondissement 4 apartment description
FRENCH TRUE EXPERIENCE!
Please note that this apartment is 5 nights min( 2 or 3 if there is a 'free spot' in the planning).
Stay in the heart of Paris, This apartment is on the very chic and desirable Ile Saint-Louis, on the river Seine and next to Ile de la Cité and Notre-Dame. It is the most beautiful and central location in Paris. Ile Saint-Louis is an upscale neighborhood, one of the most prestigious in Paris, where you have quirky shops and restaurants, bakeries, food stores and clothes stores. You can walk everywhere from here; to museums including the Louvre and Musee D’Orsay, Pompidou Centre and Palais Royal. You are a quick stroll from the Marais, place des Vosges, Jardin Tuileries, Concorde and Champs Elysées. On the other side of Ile Saint Louis you have the Latin Quarter, Jardins du Luxembourg and Saint-Germain des Prés just a leisurely stroll away. There is a boat stop about three minutes walk from the apartment and the famous bus tours can be caught by Notre Dame which is about a five minute walk away.
There is ‘Paris plage’ just across the Seine during summer, starting mid July. This is great for children and teenagers as there are outdoor concerts and cafes and a large swimming pool.
This charming apartment is a beautifully decorated in one of the 'Hotel Particulars” on Quai Bourbon of Ile Saint Louis on the ground floor. The location is undoubtly one of the most convenient and safest in Paris. There is hardly any need for public transport or taxis as the main attractions are within walking distance.
The apartment is situated in a building which is more than 400 years old yet has all modern conveniences. The apartment is in the second courtyard of the building so there is not a single noise from the street. It is very quiet and peaceful, great for getting over jetlag!
There are two door codes and a guardian so you are very safe.
The apartment is 64 square meters and spread over three levels the bottom being in the basement with windows.
The ground floor is the entrance into the apartment with the kitchen and living room. Then above the living room is a mezzanine bedroom with window looking onto the courtyard and below the living room there is another bedroom and bathroom with separate toilet, these are basement level and have skylights to let in natural light and proper ventilation. The whole apartment is loft like in the sense that it is open plan but each bedroom has sufficient privacy.
It has a kitchen area with original tiles and a very high glass ceiling. There is a bar.The kitchen is new and fully equipped with everything you would need to cook a complete meal, plus a dishwasher, microwave/oven and electric elements.
The living room is cozy and has floor boards and original 400 year old exposed stone walls. There is a large three seater sofa , a television with Cable, wifi and a telephone which can be used to make calls to any landline, worldwide or USA cell phone for free.
There are two bedrooms, one is on a mezzanine floor above the living room which has a double bed, this has a window looking onto the courtyard. The stairs to climb to this are attic style and may not be suitable for elderly people or todlers. (Please look at photo) The other is downstairs by the bathroom and contains two single beds which can be pushed together if desired and a large chest of drawers. This is not closed by a wall, but has heavy curtains which provide privacy and would be perfect for two young children or if you were to have guests . Please look at photos. It is so quite and peaceful, you will sleep the best you have ever slept!
The bathroom contains a shower and a separate toilet. There is a very large wardrobe and chest of drawers in the bathroom as well as a washing machine with dryer. There is also a hairdryer.
The courtyard has a small table with benchs, great for having a coffee outdoors, this area can be used by smokers too. There is central heating plus very thick stone walls which ensure that the apartment is well insulated from the summer heat and winter time cold, and there is air conditioning.

Great stay on Ile Saint Louis
Great stay on Ile Saint Louis
My family enjoyed our stay at Isabel's apartment over Thanksgiving break. She was very responsive during the booking process and met us at the apartment when we arrived. Everything was as it was described in the listing. You cannot hear any street traffic because this apartment is located on the inner side of the building's courtyard, far from the street. The owner left fresh flowers which was a nice touch, as well as some refreshments. This place was great for a family with teenagers. The only problem we had was with the dryer. We couldn't get it to dry our clothes and so we flew home with a bag of wet clothes. The owner did try to help us with this but it probably needs to be fixed. She lives nearby and is easy to contact with any questions you may have. Overall, we had a great visit and enjoyed staying here during our time in Paris.

A Week in Paris
A Week in Paris
The owner of the apartment was friendly, easy to deal with and attentive to one or two issues I had questions about. The kitchen has all sorts of little extras (guide books, maps, sewing kit, etc), so you needn't worry if you've forgotten anything. The apartment itself is immaculate and incredibly quiet, though not isolated. As others have mentioned, and can be seen in the photos, the inside stairs are steep and would be a problem for those with mobility or depth perception issues. The bedroom on the 2nd floor has a low ceiling, so taller folks might want to sleep in the twin beds downstairs. I'd never been to Paris before and struggled to decide in which arrondissement I should stay. The Ile St. Louis turned out to be a wise choice, with Metro and RER stations a 4 minute walk away. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Girls trip to PAris
Girls trip to PAris
This property is in a great location. It fells like a small community with stores and shops just around the corner. Very good restaurants which were recommended by the owner. The island is very quiet in the evenings. The owner was so helpful and friendly. We loved the basket of croissants and bottle of wine she left for us. This is a 3 story property which could be a problem with families with small children or older adults. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Chic Oasis in the Middle of Paris
Chic Oasis in the Middle of Paris
We loved the location of this rental and couldn't believe how quiet it was at night. The upstairs bed was very comfortable & perfect for a couple. The downstairs twin beds would be appropriate for kids. If traveling with friends, be aware that privacy is limited: there are no doors separating the sleeping areas and bathroom from one another, and everyone needs to pass through the curtained-off lower sleeping area to get to the bathroom. The kitchen was well appointed and stocked, and the remodeling of this 1643 property added clear glass skylights in the 2 upper floors to get natural light into the below-ground bedroom & bathroom. Isabel, the proprietor, was very accommodating & friendly. She also provides her rentors with a detailed description of the neighborhood including shops, restaurants, transportation and sightseeing recommendations, which helped us get quickly acclimated to our Paris setting. The interior staircases to both the upper & lower bedrooms are very steep and not suitable for persons with mobility issues. But I would gladly stay in this rental again & recommend it for young families and for groups of close friends who don't require total privacy from one another.

Paris - what a great adventure!
Paris - what a great adventure!
Property could'nt have been better located. Steps away from 2 metro stations, boulanger right around the corner, fantastic restaurants just around the corner as well. Cathedral Notre Dames only steps away. What more could you ask for! The appartment itself was great - although a bit small (top floor ceiling height is only about 5'8" high and there is only washroom located in the lower level (3 levels in total). Be advised that to go from floor to floor you must use a spiral staircase which is steep and not for anyone with any kind of physical limitations. Owner was always at the ready to provide answers and even bought a bodum for the appartment as we brought our own ground coffee, for our morning coffees to go with our croissants. The booklet she provided to help us getting around was complete and offer great suggestions. We would recommend highly recommend this appartment. Thanks Isabel!

Perfect Paris Location
Perfect Paris Location
Isabel 's apartment was perfect for my girlfriends and myself during our recent stay in Paris. The apartment was clean, well decorated and fun. The glass floors and stairs might not work for everyone but were no problem for us( we are all in our mid fifties). The apartment is in a great location and Isabel is a great hostess. We would recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a nice quiet, safe and well located address.

Our family stayed in this gorgeous apartment for a week and we highly recommend it. The location is the best-close to all the major attractions and right off the Rue de Rivoli for great shopping and the Chatelet metro stop is in the same block. The owner, Isabel, was very helpful and also gave us many recommendations for great restaurants that were all close by. We hope to stay here again the next time we visit Paris.

Excellent and charming small appartement in the heart of Paris. Just a little walking distance to Rue de St.Louis en L'ile , look like a small Parisiene Village that we can buy cheese, bread and a good French wine....also full of typical and sympathy French Bistro which the one that recommend by Isabel , Salon de The "Pain d'Epice" , here we can have a very good lunch or dinner , or just spend the afternoon time with a cup of tea or the very famous Bertillon Ice-cream. The appartement is very nice decorate with good taste , full of furnishing and kitchen equiped but no need for us to cook here because there are a lot of interesting restaurants around. Many thanks again to Isabel for your very kind information about Paris and waiting to come back here soon.

About the owner: I'm dance teacher (ballet and modern'jazz). i'm living in ile st louis 13 years ago at 1mn for the appartment. I travelling a lot but i like come back in this place. When i visited this appartment 'i fall in love '!!!! I did renovation it's a little more modern but more confortable.
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 4:
Because it's best place in paris to live or to spend vacation. It's so quiet and in the center of the town and for me it was dream to buy in 'ile saint louis'. And it's so charming and so 'frenchy' And to come for airports there is RER B St Michel exit 5 parvis notre Dame (less than an hour ) and 10 mn by foot for the appartment. It's very easy to go everywhere in paris after .
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Why this apartment verses a hotel for a trip to Paris? Hotels in Paris are expensive and a 4 star hotel in Paris is closer to a 3 star hotel on international standards also with 60 million tourists pouring into Paris a year the service and quality is not always as one would expect. There are two hotels on the island, Le Lutece and Jeu de Paume where double rooms start at around 250€. I have seen these rooms and they are quite small. Also eating out 3 times a day can become very expensive. By having a base where you can prepare and eat quick inexpensive meals (baguette and cheese!) can mean huge savings. There are three bakeries located within 30 seconds of the apartment and a supermarket 5 minutes walk away, plus an out door food market close by on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There is also a fromagery (cheese monger) on the island and one of Paris best butchers. Water is drinkable from the tap, however the apartment comes with a couple of bottles of mineral water, milk tea and coffee. If you want the beds made-up and apartment cleaned every morning this can be arranged at an extra cost of 30 Euros a day.
