Beautiful, spacious, 3200 sqare foot, 3 level home in San Francisco’s best neighborhood on a quiet tree lined street. The Castro is hip, vibrant, and almost always sunny. Public transportation, great restaurants and shopping are just steps away. This home has WiFi throughout and is a 5 BR/4 bath house that sleeps 9-11 with two Queen beds, two full beds, and 6 twins. The main level has high ceilings, crown moldings and hardwood floors, with an open concept living/dining and kitchen. Kitchen has heated floors and is fully equipped with cookware, beautiful dishes, spices, etc. Sliding doors open out to a slate patio with trees and flowers and outdoor seating. There is also a new Weber gas grill BBQ. Wood burning fireplace in living room, a 55 ' flat screen TV and DVD player. There is one bedroom on this floor with a queen bed and an en suite bath with shower. There is also a full bath on this level, as well as a washer/dryer.
Upstairs on the second floor there is a master suite with gas fireplace and seating area, treadmill, huge bathroom with large soaking tub and huge shower with a rainforest shower head and additional wall jets. The bath has top of the line finishings, custom tile, double sinks, heated floors, and granite countertop. The queen bed is made with Bella Notte linens and there is a 42” Flat screen TV with blue ray player.
There are two additional bedrooms on this level, one with a full bed and a twin trundle that pulls out, and the other has bunk beds and ensuite bath. and the third bedroom on this floor has access to this same bath through the hallway. The bath has a large jacuzzi tub, shower above that, glass shower screen and custom tile.
On the third floor there is a family room with skylights, gas fireplace, Wii and many games, ping-pong table, and day bed (twin), with an extremely comfortable double sofa sleeper (no bars, it's like a real bed). Since it is a private space (this room takes up the whole floor) we use it as a 5th bedroom as well. Depending on the size of your group we can also have two more twins that are like futons which can accommodate two more guests.
We try to combine the best of being in a hotel with the warmth and comfort of a home, and to that end we have spa robes in the bathrooms, chocolates by each bed and a chilled bottle of excellent California wine waiting for you upon your arrival.
This is a great house for families as the kids can be in the third floor rec room entertaining themselves and the adults can socialize two floors down in the main living room area.
There is Wifi throughout the entire house.
From our location, sightseeing in San Francisco starts when you leave the house. We are located in an historic neighborhood three blocks away from the Antique Trolley Line and the MUNI metro. We offer easy access to San Francisco's most popular sightseeing destinations. We are located two short blocks away from supermarkets, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, spas, shopping and most anything else you may want. Come enjoy the best SF has to offer!

Nine of us spent Thanksgiving in this great house in the Castro. The house was in great shape, clean and well equipped. The owner was very personable and accommodating when we had to make some changes. The house was very comfortable even with a large group, and the game room/loft was great fun. House is within walking distance of all the shops in the Castro, and we managed to hit the farmers market. Easy trolley ride to the other parts of the City. Would love to go back again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children.

The listing for this property doesn't do it justice.... it is way better then the pictures or the descriptions can describe. We had a group of 12 people (6 were kids) and wanted to stay together while in San Francisco and this home made that an easy reality. The home is spacious, very clean, well maintained, has all the comforts of home and the owners are the nicest people you could hope to meet. We grilled on the back patio, had plenty of space to accommodate everyone, and never had a problem with parking (which is a real plus in SF). I can not recommend this home enough...... I would prefer to give it a 10 star rating if possible. When we are back in the Bay area we will definitely attempt to rent this beautiful home. We hated to pack up and leave......... I feel this property is a true value in this market.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We stayed in the City for 5 days at the end of June, and the Douglass Street house was perfect for 7 adults. The house affords plenty of space, and would work especially well with children or teenagers. The back patio was an unexpected delight. The location also works well--it's quiet, yet within easy walking distance of the Castro shopping areas and bus or rail connections to downtown. The owner is responsive and helpful. Local relatives visited us at the house on two occasions, and they marveled at the spaciousness and beauty of the house. We give it our strong recommendation, and would absolutely stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children.

The house was as advertised, ready for us, and a wonderful location to experience San Francisco for a week. We would do this again and again. The house has lots of room for a couple families to gather at the same table for dinner and lots of room for adults and kids to find some space and privacy. We enjoyed meeting the neighbors. Quiet since it is on a dead end. The house is quick and easy 2-3 block walk to streetcar stop and the subway. Having a car was a breeze since owner allows parking directly in front of house. We enjoyed lots of eateries with very good food and not over-the-top prices. Owner was great to work with and accommodating.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

My family stayed at this wonderful and luxurious house in the Castro District to celebrate my nephew's law school graduation and niece's master's degree. We had one great experience after another. In the house: beautiful appointments in kitchen, dining room and the very comfortable sitting room, beautiful bathrooms with a fabulous master bedroom; additionally the top floor was a combination sitting room/game room which was a lot of fun for everyone and an additional sleep area for friends. Outside the house: a lovely patio surrounded by great plantings made it feel very private. The neighborhood has numerous great restaurants of all types and all budgets and fun shopping. The Firefly Restaurant - about a mile away - is not to be missed. Mollie Stone's grocery is very close. Within walking distance is Buena Vista Park with fabulous views of the city and Haight-Ashbury shopping district. The San Francisco experience is hard to beat in this wonderful house. I am familiar with SF and loved staying here. The Owners are lovely people and very helpful.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

From the top, in case you don't read beyond the first sentence, I would come back here again and again. This was an awesome trip because of our A+ experience with this home and family. A large group of family and friends came together from many places for a weeks stay in San Francisco for my son's law school graduation. There were 8 of us staying at the house (not all couples) plus other local family and friends coming together to celebrate. The house was so easy for a large group to settle into and yet there was lots of options for private space in our rooms, in the loft family room and on the patio. The open great room for kitchen, dining and sitting area was perfect for gathering together. The owners are a wonderful family who made sure we were comfortable and really enjoyed the house, neighborhood and of course the city. There were plenty of easy instructions, easy access to the house for a large group going all different directions and lots of informtion about the neighborhood and city things to do. This neighborhood was typical San Francisco; it felt very safe; walking friendly and very close to all manner of public transportation. We did have one member rent a car and Sharon, the owner, went out of her way to help us with parking warnings to avoid tickets, options for nearby places and gave us full insturctions to purchase a temporary parking permit which was great. The kitchen is not only fully equipped but has extra details that make it upscale. Same is true of bathrooms and bedding, etc. We all were so pleased that we had the opportunity to stay together and the perfection of this home made it so easy. I guess I cannot say enough good things. To Sharon and Casey - Thank YOU! I will never again rent a hotel in SF after staying in this gorgeous home. (Actually , I rented this place for my out of town family here for a graduation, and stayed here a couple of nights rather than driving across the bridge). The photos don't do it justice. It is immaculate, extremely comfortable and spacious, with beautiful light accenting the classic decor. We had grandparents and grandkids here, and accommodations of this caliber in a hotel would've been 4x the price. A few blocks from the Castro makes it both convenient (and entertaining) for shopping and restaurants. My family had a terrific time, and it was by far the best VRBO I 've stayed. The owner left detailed information for us that was clear, and user friendly. I have no reservations recommending this place.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Absolutely beautiful - This luxury home has everything we needed and then some. We arrived on Christmas night and were so pleased! We had a long day and the house was perfect. We slept 7 adults very comfortably, the three full huge bathrooms made getting up and out in the morning really easy, and the open living room and dining room held 12 of us easily when local family was visiting us! The owners descriptions are very accurate, everything was meticulously clean, well-maintained, and luxury-hotel like including two huge jetted tubs & heated floors! Loft upstairs is huge and had large TV, DVD, Wii etc! Owners left a book of information re: the house and the city/area which was really helpful. The muni and antique trolly are just a couple blocks away and very convenient to use. We just loved walking the Castro distric shopping, dining, etc. and were not far from anywhere we went including Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square and Golden Gate Park. I was a little nervous when my daughter booked manicures at the "Hand Job" but it was a very luxurious, relaxing spa which I would recommend. We have rented many homes through VRBO and this felt much more like staying at a friend's home than a "rental". Would most definately recommend. This home would be great for most travelers - just be aware the Castro is very hilly (as is most of SF) and there is a full flight of steps to enter the home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
This is a great house for large families. Our third floor recreation room is two flights up from the kitchen/ living room area, allowing adults to enjoy some private socializing while the kids have a great time upstairs playing ping-pong or video games. The main floor is ideal for large family meals, enjoying each other while a warm fire is going in the fireplace.
