Welcome to Forsyth on the Green!
This is a tastefully furnished 3 bedroom ~1400 square feet condo directly on the east side of Forsyth Park. Literally ZERO blocks to Forsyth Park; simply walk out the front door and cross the street.
River Street is roughly a mile away. This can be best enjoyed via a lovely scenic stroll through historic Savannah. Faster transportation is also available via the DOT express shuttle, Savannah’s fare-free Downtown Transportation system. There is a pick-up point located roughly one block from the condo.
The property was constructed in 1905 and underwent major interior and exterior renovations throughout 2011-2012.
Browse fresh local produce on Saturday mornings at the Forsyth Park Farmer's Market. Stroll to the Sentient Bean for a fresh cup of coffee, light dining and local entertainment. Or stroll north a block and treat yourself to a wonderful dining experience at 700 Drayton. Sip on a glass of wine and enjoy a Forsyth Park concert from the privacy of your 3rd floor balcony. Watch the lights of hundreds of bicyclists as they pass on their Midnight Garden Ride. Stroll thru Forsyth Park, by the fountain and then head north on Bull Street to take in the lifeblood of Savannah's historic district. Take in the amazing chalk art during SCAD's annual sidewalk arts festival.
The main room has a 42' high definition flat screen TV with a Blu-Ray player, cable TV with premium channels and streaming wireless capabilities. A Harmon Karden receiver with bookshelf speakders provide plenty of room filling sound. An auxilliary input cable for MP3 players is provided. Wireless is available throughout the condo. The dining room table can be expanded to twice the width, leaving lots of room for guests. The sofa folds out into a queen-size bed. Plenty of comfortable seating in the main living space. Contact owner in advance for condo phone# and wireless key. Phone service is available.
The front bedroom has a queen size bed with two windows overlooking Forsyth Park. Matching night stands and chest of drawers complete the room. The middle bedroom features exquisite crotch mahogony antique furniture (double bed, chest of drawers, vanity with mirror, bookstand). The room also has a reach-in closet. The rear bedroom is furnished in a more contemporary fashion with a queen bed.
Overhead ceiling fans with lighting in each bedroom and main room.
The front bath includes bathtub, shower, toilet and sink. The rear bath has a claw-foot tub, toilet and sink.
The kitchen includes a dishwasher, range top, microwave, oven , refrigirator and garbage disposal. Cooking utensils, pots, pans, spices, glasses, etc are fully stocked. A rear covered porch with ceiling fan and chairs is directly out the back door by the kitchen.
Original artwork is hung throughout the apartment.
The fireplaces are decorative only and not intended for use.
Smoking is permitted on either front or back covered porch.
This is a 3rd floor walk-up unit. There are both front interior and rear exterior staircases.
Small pets ( 15 lbs) okay with prior approval from owner. A small non-refundable pet fee will be required.

A wonderful stay that was close to the Mansion and many wonderful places about Forseyth Park. The stairs were not a concern for us but might be for those who need assistance. Very comfortable and safe. I would not hesitate to book again if in the area.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

Forsyth on the Green was the perfect spot for a family vacation. We had 2 little girls who could have stayed at the playground in the beautiful park across the street the whole time. There are some fine restaurants near the condo, but we enjoyed strolling along the beautiful streets in the evening when going out for an evening meal. We felt quite safe here, and there was plenty of room for all of us to spread out. The balcony overlooking the park is a great place to relax while enjoying the outside. Mark is very professional and he was extremely helpful in every way.Owner response: Totally agreed; a stroll through Forsyth Park and heading north on Bull Street is an unforgettable time travel experience to an earlier, simpler time. We hope to see you again!

The condo was nice, I think it could have been a little better. But the location was perfect. It was right across from Forsyth Park and walking distance to EVERYTHING!! We toured for two days just walking around and went to Riverfront.. Savannah is awesome and we will be back and would like to stay in the condo again. This condo was absolutely perfect for my bachelorette party weekend. There were 6 girls total, and we had plenty of space. The location was ideal - it was less than one mile from town, so we did not have to drive anywhere. The few times we took a cab, the total ended up being between $6-$10, very reasonable. The beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of linens. The bathrooms were nice, and the kitchen was very modern and up to date. Additionally, Mark was very easy to work with. The only complaint I would have is that there is only one shower; the other bathroom has just a bathtub. By the time we all finished showering in the morning, there wasn't much hot water left. Also, be sure to wear shoes! The older wood floors, though beautiful, may cause splinters. This was an incredible vacation and my friends and I loved every moment we spent in this condo.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We were in town for Christmas to visit our son and could not have asked for better accommodations! Fantastic location and the home had everything we needed and then some. The owner was very helpful, making sure that everything was just right. The accommodations were great. We had everything we needed for a fantastic weekend. The condo is very close to the local grocery store and the kitchen is well-stocked for dining in. Plenty shops and restaurants within walking distance. And, being directly across the street from Forsyth Park was the best! Plenty of room for four adults and two children. Hope to book again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

Wow! This place gave us everything. We were close to our competition at the Civic Center, but the room to spread out for all the girls and their mothers. It was up-to-date, but had so much charm that the girls slept well and giggled like little girls the next day. All you could want for amenities, but the room and silence the older females wanted. Safe and secure, enough parking for three cars-quiet at night and totally within the budget of working mothers. Great place to stay, lots of room. 3rd story walk-up is for the strong. A long walk or short ride to Riverfront. Was surprised at how the food was at the Pirate House. We would recommend this placeRecommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

The front stairs are part of our exercise program. *grin* The sense of privacy on the third floor, especially the front porch, is what makes the Forsyth on the Green experience unique. It is amazing that people rarely look up as they pass through Forsyth Park. The DOT express is the quick free ride to River Street. A stroll down Bull Street is the scenic route.

There are no reserved parking spaces for the rental unit. When we stay at the condo, we usually park on E. Bolton in a parking lot directly behind a building facing Drayton St. Be aware that if you park on Bolton, street cleaning occurs one night per week. If you're parked on Bolton on that particular night, you will get a ticket. Just be sure to check out street signs.

About the owner: I'm an Enterprise Architect for the premier designer, manufactuer and service provider in the business aviation industry. I believe in my employer's quest for exceptional customer service and apply those principles to my personal life. My wife is a professor in the Animation department at the Savannah College of Art and Design with over 20 years of teaching experience. We enjoy travel, meeting new people,dining and music.
Why the Owner Chose Savannah:
My wife and I LOVE the location! We originally purchased this property as a downtown location for our college age children. We were looking for a property directly on Forsyth Park, a large city park that occupies 30 acres.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Forsyth is Savannah's own Central Park and the site of numerous year-round festivites and events. The convenience of the property to Forsyth Park cannot be overstated. This is an ideal location for weddings in the park. Its wonderful to see the joggers, soccer games, ultimate frisbee and other outdoor activities associated to a large green space. It is within eash walking distance to local restuarants and attractions.
