Year Purchased: 1995
About the owner: I am from Washington State, lived many years in Japan, where my wife and I met. At the time we purchased the home it hadn't seen a paint brush in quite some time. We moved to Seattle 10 years ago I started a 30 month labor of love turning house back to its origin. We have four boys. Its a wonderful big family home. A fond memory is standing on the porch in front of the open door telling the boys to go pick-out your room!
Why the Owner Chose Leschi: During summer vacations visiting my mom, who lived two blocks away, we often admired this fascinating house on our way to Colman Park and a Lake Washington beach. My mom told us it was on the market. With reports from my family, we bought it without seeing the inside. Very happy we did!
The Unique Benefits at this House: The home is on the National Historical Record. Much thought and care went into refurbishing to enhance the unique historical character while adding modern convenient up-dates.
