Bon!
We had a week here recently and it was lovely. The owners, Florence and Gerard, were very friendly and welcoming (their home adjoins the property) but basically left us to our own devices after the first day; this suited us fine.
The property is a modern barn conversion. The furniture and decor is tasteful throughout. The beds were comfortable and the shower worked, though as is often the case in France there was no shower curtain. Overall the property is peaceful and rural without being isolated. There was a reasonable internet connection and a modern t.v. The latter had no English channels but we knew this was the case before we arrived. The kitchen had no oven as such but did have an 'all singing all dancing' microwave. This was not a worry for us as we rarely go on holiday to hone our culinary skills.
The village of Mazan is only a short, level walk from the property and has all the basic amenities, including a fair sized budget type supermarket. There are considerably more shopping options in Carpentras, which is about 3 miles away. Bear in mind, however, that Carpentras is not much fun to drive through/around (due to its one way system). The market on Friday morning is worth a look but is of the functional variety, rather than being full of stalls selling (usually pricey) local products.
The pool at the property is delightful, though we didn't make full use of it as we were sightseeing most days.
This makes a good centre for exploring the area; the furthest afield we went was Arles.
We would recommend La Grange du Pape (we only learned that it was called this after we arrived) for couples, or small families. One thing we did notice was the lack of games or a DVD player but maybe this isn't the culture of French owned holiday rentals?
All in all, however, we would say that this trip was tres agreable!
