1898 Original Farmhouse in Houston's Museum District. One of a kind.
Location: Houston, Gulf Coast, Texas, USA (Texas Medical Center, Museums, Downtown, Galleria) View Map
Accommodations: Bed and Breakfast Inn, 10 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 10 Baths (Sleeps 28-32)
An unique Bed and Breakfast Inn setting in the center of the fourth largest city in the U.S. Having said that, the Museum and Arts District, also called Montrose, which is where we are, can be likened to a rare jewel wrapped in a big town, to use the metaphor. We've got world-class museums, universities, an exciting downtown, hospitals, great restaurants, art galleries, parks, a fabulous zoo, old trees, etc., -- all within walking distance and/or a short tram ride.
Robin's Nest was founded in 1990, and today consists of three historical houses setting side by side. The "Big Nest", an 1898 Victorian; the "Little Nest", a 1920 Craftsman, and a 1938 stately two story brick.
For our long term stays, which is the majority of our VRBO guests, we offer a much reduced rate over 30 days, housekeeping once a week, and our guest for breakfast on the weekends (always interesting). Having said that, each guest is unique. If we can accommodate your special needs, we will.
We happily accept well behaved pets and children.
Come see us in the heart of Houston. You are welcome.
Beautiful, peaceful, quiet.

Why the Owner Chose Houston
This is a very interesting neighborhood. It began in the 19th century. The first "neighborhood" outside of downtown Houston. Houston is a city without zoning so there is a grand mixture of museums, universities, grand old homes ranging from the original farm houses, old mansions to MacMansions. the world renowned Texas Medical Center, Major Sports Teams -- all within a four mile radius of each other!
The Unique Benefits at this Bed and Breakfast Inn
Proximity to a lot of action. Downtown, Galleria, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Natural Science, Libraries, Universities, Texas Medical Center, Houston Zoo, Restaurants, Clubs, Alley Theatre, Opera, Ballet, etc. Robin's Nest is in very unique homes, c. 1898, 1920 and 1938. Great breakfast. Great staff.
Owner's Map of Houston
Robin bought the 1898 Victorian in 1978 as rental property. She converted it to a bed and breakfast in 1990. She began with one room in the Victorian. She now has three historical houses (the second and third being 1920 and 1938) setting side by side, totaling nine rooms, suites and/or apartments.
Returning to Houston in 1970 having resigned the Foreign Service shortly before. She had tours in Brazil, France and North Africa. Her Portuguese and French is rusty but still somewhat operable.
Robin's Nest has an excellent staff who enjoy the guests as much as Robin does. Come see us in the heart of Houston: a very interesting part of town with museums, the zoo, art galleries, libraries (the arts as well as traditional), the theatre, varied, good, restaurants, a walking neigbhorhood.
