Second time even better than the first (which was exceptional!)
"We stayed here last July for 5 nights and loved it. This year we returned to CR for 17 days. First part of trip was in Dominical and then in Cabo Matapalo in the Osa. Both houses were great but there is something so so special about Villa Vista de Oro and it was the perfect way to end a phenominal trip. AC didn't hurt either!
THE VIEW!!! 180 degrees of ocean, sunsets, evening lighting storms, birds and flowers. Howler monkeys in the morning. I can never tire of the view.
THE FOOD!! Diego's food was delicious. Pancakes, freshly made sausages, toast, omlettes and fresh fruit for breakfast, lunches like ceviche or amazing nachos, and dinners and desserts that had us licking our plates (and raiding the kitchen later at night to eat some of that amazing coconut pie or icecream!) Pina coladas and milk shakes for the kids and mojitos and margaritas for adults. Lovely presentation too.
SERVICE!! After arriving from the Osa where everything is damp and stinky, laundry is done and folded and delivered to your room. House is kept impeccably clean. The new caretakers, Nestor and Carole, making sure we had everything we needed and then some, driving us to Pez Vela to go for a swim, keeping the wine and gin that we liked fully stocked, turning off lights when we went to bed and bringing the dogs for a visit and swim bc we missed our dog so.
THE ALL INCLUSIVE ASPECT-We stayed here for 4 days and never left except for a beach swim. We swam in amazing pool, played games, watched movies, napped in hammock. Everything is taken care of!
Beds are super comfy. Towels lush. Baths great. AC lovely. I love the open air aspect and THE VIEW!!!
And best of all, we got to meet Kelly, the owner, and Modesta, who was the interim caretaker last year. Cannot wait to return for a third time."

"Our third time at Dewy Pacifica. The house is just the best. Well designed, great appointments and sensational pool and decks. All the bedrooms are wonderfu and have great views of the ocean or the mountains. There are great spces in the house to hangout quietly and also a wonderful main floor that accomodates a crowd for cooking, dining or games. The third time won't be our last. It really is a super house. Fun to meet new people in Rancho Playa Negra and also to reconnect with friends from previous trips. Did I mention you should not just make one trip to Playa Nregra and Dewey Pacifica?"

"El Sueno de Mariana is a very private home yet, because the hosts live on site, it's priced reasonably as an apartment rental. This amazing home is perched at the top of a small mountain just above the surf town of Nosara, Costa Rica. Although the roads are a bit bumpy, to say the least, it's an easy drive from the Nosara airport and to the town and local beaches. Safety was never a concern for us as El Sueno de Mariana has an electric gate and is situated in a private neighborhood. Down the road a bit is a security guard who monitors traffic heading in and out of the neighborhood. During the day we enjoyed the spacious, sandy beaches around Nosara and in the early mornings and evening enjoyed our privacy at the house with gorgeous views, lush gardens, an infinity pool and the amazing sounds of jungle life.
The property has incredible views of the Pacific ocean framed by beautiful gardens with native trees, plants and flowers. I have to say, as other guests did, the photos don't do the property justice. It has one of the most beautiful infinity pools we've ever had the privilege to enjoy! The pool has a waterfall, lap lane and mosaic turtles on the bottom. Be sure and watch the video which highlights the surrounding gardens and views.
The bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, are spacious, clean and air conditioned and have all the amenities one needs for vacation.
Our hosts, Mikki and Don, are warm, easy going and have great tips on what to see and do in Nosara. They really tune into their guests preferences and if privacy is what you're looking for, you can bet you will have it here. We, however, enjoyed playing cribbage with them and I highly recommend Mikki's informal water aerobics class on site!
We brought our 3 daughters (all in their 20s) and 2 boyfriends and had plenty of room. No matter what your age you will feel right at home at El Sueno de Mariana.
Many thanks Mikki and Don for a fabulous stay! We hope to come back again."

"After two trips for two weeks each to this amazing refuge I can sit back and think of all the great memories of this extraordinary place with happiness. Fresh warm ocean air blowing thru the treetops as we looked out over the canopy from the open top floor of the treehouse, watching the iguana's in the jungle floor below eat fresh fruit, nitetimes looking out at the starts thru the floor to ceiling glass walls in our master bedroom, and relaxing in the hammock reading with the sounds of the jungle in the background. The house had everything we needed and is well cared for, and is private and spacious.
The country itself is welcoming, costa rican's are warm friendly people, and their are also the interesting expats who have figured out how to make a life down there running the local great restaurants.
We spent many days on the beaches, surfing, swimming, soaking up the sun, and side trips up to the hotsprings, volcano's, and offshore fishing.
This playa negra area is away from the overbuilt overtouristy (which are about an hour's drive away at Tamarindo)
and is much more to our liking, there is so much to explore, I can't wait to get back again."
