  • Peaceful Hilltop Villa Perfect for Two Large Families

"This peaceful villa was the perfect getaway in Tuscany. The little town nearby, Citta del Pieve, was by far my favorite and the least touristy of all that we visited. The location of this villa allowed for several easy day trips to Rome, Florence, and famous wineries. We consisted of two families with young children, thus the layout of this house was absolutely perfect. It had 3 bedrooms 2 baths and a kitchen on each of the levels. Swimming in the large pool was a great way to end the day for the children. A couple of nights we hired a woman named Beatrice to come in and cook a large meal for us when we knew we were going to return late and tired from a day of sightseeing. The price was reasonable when compared to going out, and the food was delicious. It was wonderful to be able to relax on the porch, watch the sunset while the children played, and have Beatrice cook a fantastic meal. I highly recommend this beautiful villa to anyone."

  • Magical corner of Tuscany

"There are places that meet expectations and then there are places that raise the bar so high that they will forever provide comparison of the perfect holiday. Such was the case this fall as we came to call this Tuscan villa home for nearly three months. We are a family of four with two teenage daughters that wanted to find a place to experience the magic of the Tuscan countryside. And we could not have imagined a more idyllic location. The villa is set on a hill, about a kilometer from the village of San Gusme It is surrounded by endless rolling acres of sangiovese grapes. Enjoying the views of distant Siena at sunset became our daily routine with a glass of Chianti. The grounds are full of olive groves, fruit trees and open gardens where we would picnic, pick free figs, and relax by the pool. The villa is located on an enormous Villa d'Arceno vineyard estate. Wild pheasants would cross our path on morning walks. The vineyard workers would wave as they passed. And the peaceful solitude and scenery were truly magical. The house itself is spacious and comfortable, and clearly lived in and cherished by the owners who were friendly, attentive and gracious hosts. It's cozy, clean, light, and well provisioned (there is even a vintage proscuitto slicer!) It is a rare find in a special place that we will long to return to. If you go, be sure to find the hiking trail into San Gusme, and spend at least one evening at the Porta de Chianti restaurant where Augusto will work magic with steak and pasta."

  • A Little Slice of Heaven

"As American/New Zealand expats currently living in Frankfurt, Germany, we took off in our car for a week vacation in Cetona, Italy. What a slice of heaven! Located right on the Piazza Garibaldi, this tiny town in Tuscany is steeped in history and very beautiful. Everything you need is right there on the piazza; a delicatessen, pharmacy, bakery, wine shop and quaint stores selling lovely items to take home. The two restaurants at the end of the Piazza were really good and we loved Osteria Merlo so much that we had a second meal there. The apartment itself is stunning with everything that you need to make your stay perfect. The photos posted of the apartment are a true reflection of how beautiful it is. We used this location as a springboard to not only visit local towns suggested in the Welcome Book in the apartment but to do day trips to Pisa, Florence and and an overnight stay in Rome. Everyone we met were very helpful and welcoming. Traveling with two 14 year olds, our girls had a great time and would love to return again to explore more of the small towns and to go in a warmer season."
