  • Big & Beautiful

"My daughter & I stayed 4 nights during Spring Break. The house was very spacious - especially since there were just two of us. We loved looking out the large windows to the mountains while we cooked, read or just relaxed. And at night we had a great view of the stars. The river just outside our door was low flowing. We loved putting our feet in the icy cold water. 2 miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park made hiking very easy. The beds were comfy and the place was very clean. Shoes off at the front door. The master suite is like a huge apartment. The bathroom had just been remodeled. We cooked each day and had everything we needed. There is a phone at the house to use because cell service with AT&T is spotty and nonexistent with Verizon. There is no internet either. Completely unplugged!! Nice! There is Satellite TV if you still feel the need to connect. We can't wait to come again and bring a larger group with us."

  • Gay Men of Faith

"I found my stay at 7 Circles Retreat to be peaceful and uplifting. Chris and Jim were the perfect hosts and the food was FANTASTIC!!! The diversity of the spiritual subjects covered was enlightening and pleasant. Patrick Davis"

  • Perfect Anniversary

"As parents of 3 kids under 7 years old we rarely have time for ourselves. We wanted to plan a trip for our 10th wedding anniversary that was far enough away from home, but close enough in case of emergencies. This place was perfect! Almost rather not write the review and keep this a secret. We were welcomed, given the tour of the land and treated like family - something so rare. Thank you for the great conversation! They are so welcoming and genuinely excited to share this small area of God's creation rich in local history. Completely surrounded by sights and sounds of nature . . no cars, no people. My wife and I felt like we were completely alone in a land far far away. While my wife isn't much into roughing it in the 'woods', I was in paradise. Spent half a day hiking in the national park seeing the giant trees for the first time. The rest of the time walking the property and especially enjoying the sight and sound of the river that brought back so many childhood memories. Her paradise came after "roughing it" all day with me, coming home to the cottage to a warm bath, relaxing on the deck enjoying the view, napping, then under a blanket keeping warm in the living room taking in a dvd or listening to music without any interruptions. As much as we enjoyed our time alone, we can't wait to be able take our kids for a few days, hopefully making it an annual trip. Thank you James and Kathleen for allowing us to recharge ourselves and our marriage in the Kaweah Cottage. God bless you always! R&D"

  • Get away from the city weekend!

"We loved staying the weekend here! Thank you for the bottle of wine that was awaiting us on our arrival. First thing we see outside the living room window were 10 deer grazing in the front yard. The cabin was extremely clean and had everything we needed. We were lucky enough to have a very warm Saturday so we drove down to the river and hiked to a spot all our own. it was gorgeous. We had lunch at Pierpoint Springs restaurant. They have delicious hamburgers. We try and come up to Camp Nelson every year since discovering it about 7 years ago. Every time we come up we find the break we've been looking for. No wi-fi or cell reception (except at the restaurant). We usually play cards and look at the stars for entertainment and barbecue for dinner. We usually come up in the summer, it was nice to see what it's like at this time of year. Sunday was a colder day and it had rained Saturday night. We went to see the 5th largest Sequoia, Stagg tree, which is 3000 years old. Your cabin is one of our favorites now, for the location, right in Camp Nelson, and for the very good ambiance. We really hope to be back soon, thank you so much!"
