  • Nice!

"Perfect location and nice little house. You can walk to most everything of interest in downtown Lake Placid, just a couple of minutes and you’re on Main Street and/or the walk around Mirror Lake. Main Street has most of the town's restaurants and shops, yet the house is quiet, with a nice front porch, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of entertainment, and all very clean. Great value. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here."

  • In a word - Amazing

"Stayed here two years in a row and it was like paradise. Words cannot describe how incredibly this camp is. Need a break from every day stress, this place is it. You just never want to leave and no other place on earth is quite like this property. It is so clean and has everything you could ever need. From the second you drive down the driveway and catch a glimpse of Lake Placid in your backyard, you know you have arrived. The porch is one of the biggest I have ever seen and the view is breath taking, you just have take pictures constantly and still feel like you haven't done it justice. The house is massive and fully equipped with everything. The common rooms are spectacular and jaw dropping, the bedrooms are beyond charming. Just when think you have seen everything, walk from your back porch onto the park like grounds down to the boat house and be prepared to be blown away. I truly love this place and hope to be back again real soon."

  • Great Location for Lake George Visitors

"We really enjoyed our two week stay at Horicon Hill after a four year absence. The newly remodeled kitchen was highly functional and well equipped for our group. The house was well maintained and we loved the new HDTV and Blu-ray DVD player. We thought that Cate's Italian Garden pizza was excellent but call ahead to order as they are packed at dinnertime. The house has lots of parking for cars and boat trailers."

  • Wow, is all I can say

"My friends and I came to wonderful Cedarcrest for a vacation. When we arrived the house looked exactly like the pictures. We entered the huge door and immediately saw the massive stone fireplace and wooden stairwell and floors. This was rustic, clean and well stocked with condiments, dishes, dishwasher, pots and pans etc. There were six of us and each of us helped ourselves to a bedroom, mine being the "Redroom". It is clear the sheets are hung out to dry as they smelled like the outdoors and not like a sheet of "Bounce" The bathtubs are the old fashioned claw type complete with shower. We were looking for something different than the usual and this home, with it's panoramic view was the perfect accommodation for us. The phone service is part of the package and was helpful in booking our hiking, canoeing, and kayaking events. We were able to walk downtown and hike around Mirror Lake (there really is not a monster there like the movie suggests, lol). We were able to wash our clothes which was wonderful as with our hiking etc we got pretty dirty at times and had not brought a lot of clothing with us. We took the liberty of hanging our cloths on the line in an attempt to replicate the outdoor smell. If you want the run of the mill hotel style accommodation, this is not the place for you. If you want something out of the ordinary and live in an different era, with the amenities of home slipped in, this is the vacation home for you and your friends and family. This would be a wonderful location for a family reunion as there is a large back and front yard, as well a very large back porch where one can rock and view the mountains and lake. My friends and I have booked Cedarcrest for two years from now and hope to do so every two years."
