Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Enjoy the beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Deep Gap, NC. Our cabin is just off the Blue Ridge Parkway just before Hwy 421 passes under the the Blue Ridge (mile marker 277) at an altitude of 3403 near Stoney Fork Overview.

We are perched at the Eastern Continental Divide looking southwest. Enjoy a short ride among majestic trees and mountain views before climbing Turkey Hill. A gentle climb that arrives at a most unassuming paradise at the end of Frog Hollar road. The cabin is nestled on 1.5 acres and gives way to miles of spectacular view. You will be inspired by a feeling of peace and solitude that will not be disturbed by any visible neighboring cabins or homes from any of the four cabin decks.

This is a very warm and inviting traditional cedar log cabin with views from each of the four decks and nearly every window! The main level has the master bedroom, and living room with cozy gas log fireplace, inviting furniture and deck as well overlooking the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The third bedroom is in the loft area, and has its own private deck. The lower level has a family room with sofa and a bedroom with two single pine-pole beds and full bath.

A six-person hot tub provides great relaxation after a strenous hike, skiing day, or just for fun. A fire pit also makes for the mountainy feel of camping under the stars. (Always remember to completely extinguish any campfires)

The cardinals and hummingbirds love hanging out at our cabin, and are entertaining to watch while enjoying morning coffee. Watch the sunset, or an approaching thunderstorm, with an evening cocktail around the comfortable dinette or in one of two oversized rockers. The deer and turkeys like to frolic about, too! There is plenty of hiking in the area including some interesting trails off of the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. Take your camera and a small bag to collect wild blackberries and blueberries.

While the cabin is very secluded and quiet, it is only minutes to lots of activities should you decide to leave the beauty and serenity of the cabin. The cabin is a short ride into Boone (sporting a college vibe), Blowing Rock (retirement village feel), West Jefferson (Southern artisan feel) as well as many smaller quaint communities.

This is a unique property for people who value quiet time, great views and bonding with nature. The cabin is about 20 minutes to Boone (via hwy 421) and Blowing Rock (via the BR Parkway), and a stone's throw to the beautiful and scenic Blue Ridge Parkway.

The cabin is complete with every amenity including WildBlue Broadband Internet access that lets you stay in touch and find the latest mountain entertainment. Play Station II is also available should you need a session of 'Guitar Hero', or Kareoke American Idol' to complete a great day. A piano keyboard is also available for mountain musicians. Bring your ipod so you can share and enjoy your own music on the digital music system.

See the facebook link below for more pictures of the cabin.

About Greg

Any excuse for an epic day on the slopes!

Greg purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Greg chose Deep Gap

Our cabin helps us to appreciate God's creation, to rest our souls and recharge from our busy city lives. It is quiet, away from distractions with views that are mesmerizing. We look forward to seeing the day's blue sky and the nights full of stars. Close enough to hike to apple orchards off the Blue Ridge Parkway or find a thrill fishing, rock climbing, skiing, or enjoying live blue grass music at MerleFest.

Perfect Cabin with an incredible view

  • 5 of 5

The pictures provided just do not show the high quality of this cabin. It is solidly built with quality materials and perfectly maintained. Everywhere I looked I found thoughtful and perfectly selected amenities and decorations. All of the furniture was in good shape and comfortable. I especially loved the real cabin furniture throughout the house. I have never stayed at a cabin, house or hotel that has been as clean as this cabin was. The cabin was impeccable in every way.

Our favorite feature was the roomy 6 person hot tub. It was properly maintaned and clean. Even the lid to the hot tub was clean, which often is not the case.

The owners were very responsive to all my contacts and very friendly. I would highly recommend this cabin!

Secluded mountain cabin, clean and well stocked

  • 5 of 5

This was probably the best VRBO property we have ever used. The location and amenities were as described if not better. The mountain road leading to the house is treacherous but adds to the feeling of seclusion. The house was impeccably clean on our arrival and our dogs enjoyed exploring in the woods and snow around the house. Kitchen is well appointed for home cooked meals and I think this is the first rental we have used where the knives are actually sharp. Hot tub was a relaxing bonus too. All linens and towels in excellent shape. Can't wait to go back!

Very cozy, clean, great amenities and an amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

Initially, I was a little worried that the cabin wouldn’t live up to the pictures. I was instantly proven wrong. It was very clean, had everything that you need to live comfortably and the views were breathtaking! Our group loved it so much that we’re going to make this a yearly trip! I couldn’t recommend this place more.

The view and amenities were great. Truly a mountain top cabin experience.

  • 5 of 5

Admittedly coming from a flat state like Florida the mountain road to the cabin was suspenseful. Wow what a great view from the whole back of the cabin. The way the cabin was outfitted was impressive. We had everything we needed to be comfortable even in the colder temperatures. We were close to a variety of scenic opportunities in the area. With snow flurries on Christmas Eve our family experience for the holiday was just what we wanted. It is easy to recommend this property with all its amenities.
