Enjoy spectacular views from this spacious cabin nestled on a mountaintop in the gated community of Powder Horn Mountain. Lucky Dog Cabin has everything you need to feel right at home; comfy beds, a fully equipped kitchen, hi-speed internet, smart tvs, game room, a wood-burning fireplace, and propane firepit. Enjoy beautiful long-range mountain views from the spacious decks and large screened porch. The kids and teens can have their own space in the downstairs bunk/game room with smart tv, toys, games, foosball table, and multi-game arcade. Powder Horn Mountain is a secure, gated community. The cabin has an exterior security camera mounted near the front door, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits. Guests have full access to the community amenities, including pool, clubhouse with gameroom, miles of marked hiking trails, children’s playground, tennis/pickleball court, basketball goal, 9-hole disc golf course, picnic/tent camping spaces next to beautiful Laural Creek, and more.

Graduation Getaway

During a very busy graduation and very congested Boone, this was a fabulous get away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. The views were spectacular and Sheila was very informative and was a super host. Thanks for sharing your lovely place!

Cozy Cabin

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Lucky Dog Cabin to celebrate Christmas. Sheila was a great host, who responded quickly, and gave great recommendations for our family with littles. The downstairs room was a fun area for the kids. She had everything we needed there. We will definitely stay again

Breathtaking views and wonderful host!

Our family of 4 + our dog stayed at Sheila's cabin and had a great time. The view from the deck is phenomenal, the beds were very comfortable and the kids loved all the toys and games available at the cabin. The cabin has a cozy mountain cabin vibe, and everything was sparkling clean with a well-stocked kitchen. Sheila was incredibly responsive and reached out proactively with detailed directions and suggestions before check-in. The location is a bit remote, so it isn't the most convenient in terms of making quick trips to restaurants and stores, but our family was happy to cook and eat in most nights.

A lot to celebrate

We had a wonderful time and wish we could’ve extended our stay. It was nice and cozy, just as described. The kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, and plenty of space for our group of 7 and the dog. We celebrated 5 November birthdays in our group. The weather could not have been more perfect! We enjoyed dinner outside on the open porch then the fire downstairs on the enclosed porch later in the evening. My only suggestion would be additional lighting in the kitchen. It was a bit hard to see while cooking. Overall it was a great experience!
