Beautiful home, sweeping view of Ohio, easy drive to Louisville attractions.

Why Becky Kiefer chose Prospect
My family have been boaters for many years. We happened upon this house, perfect for us, which has been my little piece of heaven for over 15 years. As I drove home from a hectic day, I could literally feel the stress drain away. I love being here on the mighty Ohio, where it feels like being on vacation every day.
What makes this House unique
The way the sun lights up the island across the river is a moment of joy at the beginning of each day, and the sunsets can sometimes turn the water a brilliant shade of orange. The quiet calm in the winter is a contrast to the activity of boats cruising by in the summer. Both are my pleasure as I spend time reading on the swing in my favorite "room", the deck overlooking the river.

We had a great time. The back deck space was great.
Our stay in Louisville was made so comfortable by having this wonderfully delightful home. The back deck is so inviting with the shade trees and the view of the river. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Everything one could need is provided.
Property is in a fantastic location about a 20-25 minutes to downtown, 10 minute drive to Captains Quarters (restaurant/bar a must visit) and Kroger. Pictures on Vrbo are true to the space with a fantastic view of the river.
We had a party of 10 and found the space to be excellent for the group. Four bedrooms: with two of them having an additional bed. The master bedroom is upstairs and has a futon that was spacious. Another bedroom upstairs had a almost full/twin size bed with a trundle pull out.
We took advantage of the yard by the river and brought corn hole game. I would recommend bringing outdoor games as they do not have any available. The deck is very spacious with two different areas, 1 patio table with four chairs, four additional adirondack chairs and a wooden patio swing.
1. Size of the grill - it's a two burner. Had to cook and eat all grilled meals in rotation when cooking for 10. We had brought four racks of ribs to cook prior to arriving at camp. It was determined that we'd take the ribs home because the grill didn't have the capacity to grill it in our desired time.
2. Dual oven. Stove top was excellent - no complaints. The oven didn't keep the temperature well. Two egg casseroles took 3 hours to fully cook vs same casseroles made at in most home ovens takes 1.5 hours. Another example it took 30 minutes to cook one Red Baron pizza (which time suggested is 18-20 minutes).
Excellent location, fantastic views, great times and a Becky is an friendly and helpful owner.
I bought a thermometer to check on the oven (which is only one year old) temperature. I set the lower oven at 350 for an hour, and then at 400 for an hour. It held both times. What I did notice was that in resetting it, using the setting buttons for the upper and lower ovens is confusing, and I'm wondering if it's possible the oven was inadvertently not set correctly. The oven is heating fine according to the thermometer, so what I will do is leave specific instructions for using the settings for the dual ovens. This is why I leave my phone number several times and in several places with every guest, and tell guests they are welcome to call with problems or questions at any hour. I wish I'd have known so I could have addressed this during the guest's stay.
The listing states that the grill is a small one, and when the guest additionally emailed to ask if there was a grill, I reminded them that it was a small one. However, I agree that a 2-burner grill is small for 10 people, and have replaced it with a 4-burner grill.
There is a cornhole game mentioned in the listing. It is sitting against door to basement in kitchen. Again, I wish guest would have contacted me to ask about a cornhole game. This would have saved them bringing one. Also there are a cabinet full of indoor games, including Mexican train dominoes. If there are other games which guests are interested in having, request them when booking, and I'll have them here.
Thank you for your review. I loved having you as a guest.I do apologize if your expectations were not met. Overall it sounds like you had a great vacation with your friends, and that's what we at Camp Husky strive to achieve.
