The cottage is situated fairly close to the centre of Bridport, within walking distance of the shops. It is situated along an alley beside a butchers shop, which was really handy to pop to when buying meat. They also do delicious scotch eggs and sausage rolls. The downside is there is no parking for the cottage, although we were able to pull up onto the street outside to unload and load up. Parking is in a car park near by which you pay for, or in nearby streets. The alley is quite narrow, which means that the lounge/kitchen/dinner is quite dark. We found we needed the lights on all the time in that room. Having said that, the cottage was very cosy and the kitchen was quite well equipped. In our opinion, the microwave oven could do with being replaced. Paint is flaking off on the inside and round the edge, and the exposed metal is rusting. It also seems to be impregnated with a strong curry smell! I washed it out, but it made no difference. A big plus point for me was the bath - always very welcome after a long walk. The dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer were also very welcome. Be aware that due to covid regs, loads of things have been removed from the cottage, including brochures and maps for the local area, the instructions for the heating, and the hairdryer, which I discovered when I realised I had forgotten mine! I worked the heating out by trial and error, but it might be helpful to laminate the instructions so they can be cleaned, and leave them pinned to the notice board.
