Cabin in the woods
I must admit, I wanted to stay in a hotel and get pampered, it was the grandkids that insisted on a cabin in the woods. I was reluctant until I opened the door. The cabin is beautiful, cozy and warm. We ate meals on the deck, played in the hot tub and hiked around the area. It was just outside the chattahoochee forest, so the beauty was everywhere. We had a wonderful time and made many memories
The view was spectacular - mountain scenery every direction. Very cold and gray the week we were there but still such a welcome relief. Secluded and yet close to things. Couldn't have been happier. Thanks
Perfect for our family vacation - beautiful and relaxing.
We had an incredible spring break at the cabin. Our kids (9 & 11) loved it as much as we did. It is a bit off the beaten path which is good but is a short drive to anything we wanted to do. We hit up the Walmart (15 mins) first to load the cabin with food but never had to see it again! The rest of the week was hiking, sightseeing, relaxing in the hot tub, playing games and watching Netflix flicks together. Our favorite hikes (most pretty easy) were at Desoto Falls, Anna Ruby Falls, Brasstown Bald (which was closed due to icy roads so we just jumped the gate and walked the 3.5 miles up to see the most beautiful views in GA).
We also went zip lining at Unicoi. It was a little pricey but a lot of fun and our guides were great. We’ve done it before in TN but if you’ve never done it it’s worth it.
The cabin was great and the hot tub perfect after our days of hiking. The master bath has a jacuzzi tub too - great but filling it with hot water is a challenge if anyone else took a shower first.
Beds all comfy and living room and kitchen perfect for the 4 of us. No cable etc (just Netflix, roku) but hopefully nobody’s renting a cabin in the mountains to watch CNN. Bunk bed in the loft is in open area above kitchen/living room so if you have kids once they’re in bed, your time in living room is over. Didn’t bother us but should be noted for anyone wishing to watch tv or hang out after kids hit the sack.
Stocked kitchen and Danielle left us some charcoal for the BBQ so we had no complaints. And cheaper than a Holiday Inn by the way.
Danielle was great - always answered my texts in seconds and refunded our damage deposit the next day.
Can’t wait to go back!
Lovely cabin in a beautiful setting
We had a wonderful stay with our daughter and son-in-law. The cabin was very clean with comfortable furniture and beds. We especially liked the king bed in the master and the en suite bath. This is the first thing we look for when booking properties! Even though it was very cold outside, we were toasty warm inside. It is very convenient to Blairsville and Helen. as well as, many trails, which we hiked in spite of the cold.
Great for a Girls trip
The cabin was wonderful! Had all the essentials needed for a Great girls weekend!
The Bear Den was everything we hopes for on our long weekend! The cabin was clean and had all of the bear necessities. We enjoyed the views each morning and the hot tub each night. The weather could have been more cooperative, but it didn't stop us from visiting 3 local wineries, hiking to 4 waterfalls, and doing a tasting at the moonshine distillery. We all hope to come back again in the near future!!
