What a wonderful stay…..

If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, this is the place for you. Plenty of good restaurants and the best part is you are less than a two minute walk to the beach. Your host, Doc, is a pleasure to work with and accommodating.

Great location, quaint property

We were fortunate to have the “penthouse” location, which was a funny title. We were the only unit on the second floor and had lots of windows. That made the unit very bright and cheery. Honestly, it was nothing fancy, but met all of our needs. Additionally, it was wonderful that lounge chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels were provided. I would stay there again.

We had a great time. The penthouse was very convenient to the beach, restaurants and other things. If we had any questions Doc was very helpful. We would stay at this place again! Great view of the sunset from our deck!

This was our 5th vaca in the area, but our 1st at Sunglow. AMAZING! Everything about our stay was fabulous! The photos don't do justice to the beauty and privacy you get staying at this little gem. Everything you need for a beach vacation is provided: umbrella, loungers, towels. The host, Doc, is very attentive without being intrusive. He is a big part of the charm of Sunglow! If you're thinking about staying here, DO IT! We are already looking forward to next year and this will be where we stay. No more looking for this couple!

Penthouse upstairs was nice, not perfect but nice and clean. A little dated furniture and minor scratches here and there but a good little spot on the beach. Ocean view from small deck, beach was 39 yards maybe. Nice little beach bar within walking distance then Uber rides to John’s pass were around 10. Beach was not busy at all. Wife and I could sit and listen to music and not bother anybody around us. Nice break compared to the big hotels with hundreds of people around. Would definitely stay afain

Doc was very accommodating he checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I knew he was just a phone call away if we needed anything which was nice to know. The condo was nicely decorated and clean. We had all we needed in the room and enjoyed the provided lounge chairs for the beach. Truly enjoyed the beach which was not crowded at all. I have wonderful memories with my girls. Thank you Doc for an exceptional vacation! We will visit again!

Everything exactly as advertised, on the quiet end of Mad Beach and close to everything. Had no issues working during the days and knowing my wife had a very safe beautiful area to relax while I was away. The owner Doc stopped by to check on us and was very nice. I will book again.

We were very happy how close to the beach this place is. It was nice that it's within walking distance of grocery and drug store. There are lounge chairs that we took to the beach. The bed was nice but the futon/couch needs to be replaced. We were disappointed that we were not able to use the Wifi. Owner tried helping us but was not able to. TV was not working properly but we got that resolved promptly. It is definitely a 10 for location to beach. Enjoyed the nice weather!

We enjoyed our relaxing week at this location! Pros- excellent location. You can see the ocean/beach from the balcony & one living room window. You can walk to the beach which is maybe 100 steps out the door. Very nice beach loungers and umbrellas provided. Condo was a comfortable size for 3 people. The owner is always around and available by phone/text if you need anything. Super responsive & nice. The wine he left was very nice. Cons- we had a very late arrival due to weather flight changes & notified the owner. When we got to the condo, there was no bedding or pillows for the pull out sofa and only enough towels for 2 people & we had 3. We had to contact the host & have him bring these things (after midnight … which is definitely a plus as far as responsiveness goes!! But should have been provided initially so we didn’t have to wait on him to come to get to sleep.) The floors were very dirty when we arrived to where our feet were visibly dirty after walking on them so we opted to always wear shoes inside. Limited kitchen utensils, no hot pads or towels in kitchen. Dirty pan left in oven. Mattress needs to be replaced- sunken in place where people have slept over the life of the mattress.

The WORST VRBO experience ever. This property is a total misrepresentation. It is as far from a "Beachfront Penthouse" as you can get. This is not beachfront. There is a highrise condo building between it and the beach. The owner told use, "You don't want a water view because the sea is dark at night. Here, you can sit on the balcony and hear the cars go by at night." Verbatim quote. This is a decrepit ancient 6-room motel with one room on the 2nd floor, and that's what he calls the "Penthouse." His VRBO claims the bed is Queen size. It isn't. His VRBO listing claims there are 2 Queen sleep sofas in the living room. Absolute lie. There is one. The entire place feels like it was equipped using yard sale throw-away junk of the cheapest quality. If you are looking for a stay in a tiny, horrible 1950s motel room next to a busy road and 24-7 traffic at top prices, this place is for you. But if you are expecting a Beachfront Penthouse, don't look away, RUN.
You can barely see anything through windows caked with dirt
Crane your neck and look across the trash cans past the high rise building that really IS beachfront and you can see part of a beach. And this is advertised as a "Beachfront Penthouse"
Stove was so filthy that it belched smoke and cannot be used for fear of being a fire hazard
See the tall building? THAT is beachfront. THAT has a beachfront penthouse. The VRBO "Beachfront Penthouse" is the tiny second floor converted motel room on a busy road.

This place has everything you need to go to the most beautiful beach on the Clearwater/St Pete's strip. Quiet, peaceful setting right on the beach. Owner friendly and reachable. Publix grocery near by. Free WiFi, chairs, umbrella, grill. (don't forget change for the laundry ; ))

Loved this place!! The location was perfect ( right on the beach) our room #6 was very clean and spacious, the neighbors were very friendly and Doc the owner was amazing. He was always very helpful when we needed something or had a question. Everything we needed was provided, so don't pack anything needed for the beach, Doc has you covered. Doc was great. Everything was neat and clean. Nothing fancy but perfect for lounging at the beach. When he says private it definitely was maybe 8-10 people total on the beach area,but your still close enough to restaurants and shopping. Most of these are within walking distance. just want to say that it is time for vrbo to have a supervisor to check the properties that they advertises on its internet account, the place that I rented was horrible, totally unpleasant, with furniture that apart from being old looked dirty, a sofa bed that the mattress was pure springs, the place is so small that I felt trapped, the disgusting beach chairs and the grill was all filthy, on top of that 2 large cockroaches that came out from somewhere, the only good thing is that the beach is just a few steps away, but Even so, I do not recommend it, I rented for 3 days, and was not cheap , I only stayed 8 hours and went to look for another place (I had to stay because there was nowhere to rent at that time) I am not a person that like to make problems, I just sent a message to the owner that I have already left , that I did not like anything without giving details ( because I did not want to speak that angry ) and I have not received any response , not even as a courtesy to tell me , I am sorry , I can return some of your money , nothing at all , the curious thing is that of all the comments only one wrote what happened to me, the rest speak wonders of the place (perhaps they are paid) and I think that vrbo should also be responsible for these scams that are happening to many people, since these advertisements they accept on their platform without any revision

Description is very misleading.

We were assigned Condo #6 (which is really a kitchenette), which is on the 2nd floor. Advertised no stairs and no elevators. No lights for stairs at night. Room was filthy, shower head covering hangs from the wall, vents and ceiling fans are dirty. Owner sits outside in his car and watches. If someone does what he doesn't think they should, he texts or calls them, says. The beach chairs are old and dirty, and grill is disgusting. Nothing like pictures. No directions about check in or check out, just times. I was not comfortable safety wise. I could go on but you get the idea. I will not use VRBO or Sunglow again.

Living in the sun shine state has always been my dream. When I retired from practice in 1985, I had to find something to do that was less hours and less demanding. I miss my patients but a nice substitute are guests we meet in the hospitality rental vacation business. My wife, who is a retired psychiatric nurse, and I enjoy sharing stories with our guests while at the same time providing them with a nice safe updated place to stay while vacationing on Floridas #1 beach. Sunglow with just 7 units was the perfect size for my wife and I to manage.

PS.BENEFICIARY OF THE ESTATE WAS A FORMER MISS AMERICA FROM TAMPA, FLORIDA. AND HER SPOUSE IS STILL ON TV.

It’s just a short minutes scenic walk along beautiful Gulf Blvd to Wynn Dixie grocery store, dress&gift shops, hair salons , beachy restaurants /beach bars or the World’s Famous John’s Pass waterfront Boardwalk. The popular beach trolley stops out front and is a must scenic ride along the scenic Blvd to Clearwater Beach or St.Petersburg Beach at the other end. A 1 day pass is just $2.00.
