Newly renovated La Petite tour offers a unique place to stay in the beautiful Dordogne valley.
Forming the major part of a pre-Napoleonic tower, this fully self-contained beautiful little one bedroom gîte is nestled in the picturesque Dordogne valley itself, midway between the medieval towns of Rocamadour and Sarlat. It is located in an elevated position offering easy access to all that the area has to offer.
The Little Tower has been recently sympathetically restored, full of character and keeping many original features, comprising of a Lounge/kitchen/dining room which offers an oven, ceramic hob, dish washer, fridge, and a table that comfortably seats two.
This room has beautiful views over the duck pond and valley, two seater sofa, 36 inch tv with French tv channels, and also a selection of books.
There is a quite steep staircase to the charming and characterful bedroom, which has a double bed, hanging wardrobe, bedside drawers and lovely views over a duck pond.
There is new bathroom with larger than average shower cubicle.
The little tower is ideal for singles or couples looking for an active holiday or restful getaway.
This area caters to a huge variety of interests. We are 50 metres from the cycle track, the road to Sarlat, and only 250m from the Dordogne river, perfect for canoeing, kayaking or fishing.
Our two local villages of Carlux and St Julien de Lampon have restaurants, bars, Boulangeries, general stores, a chemist, post offices, churches and even a castle. A larger supermarket is just a ten minute drive in the local town of Souillac.
Fancy something a bit more relaxed? Take a wander around the many beautiful medieval towns located within a short drive and sample the food and wine the region is famous for: duck, foie gras and walnut (the locally produced walnut wine is particularly splendid!) Twice a week Sarlat hosts a large public market, take the opportunity to bring back some local produce and have dinner in the comfort of your own lounge or a bbq al fresco enjoying the scenic countryside.
