Tranquil Cabin Green Lake, Interlochen School

Ready for Summer fun? Or do you just want to get away from it all feet from the water? It’s all here at our unique cedar cabin tucked in a quiet cove on Interlochen’s Green Lake. Mornings greet you with exquisite sunrises as you sip your coffee and take in the view from picture windows overlooking the water 30 feet away. Sandy beach and sandy bottom, just the way you like it. Water is practically ground level, clear and shallow for yards. Explore the lake in one of the boats provided (kayaks, paddleboard, and canoe), sit on the beach and watch the kids play in the sand, or grab a pole and hook some bass or pike or lake trout (BEST FISHING AROUND!).

So much to do...Is shopping your thing? You can be in Traverse City in half an hour. There you will find not just shops, but unique and renowned restaurants, second to none. All this amid the sparkling waters of Grand Traverse Bay. Head west and in less than an hour, you’re at ‘The Most Beautiful Place in America’ - Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park where you can check out the trails, wildlife and Caribbean-like waters. Or is golf your jam? Some of the most beautiful courses in America are located right here!

Once back at the cabin, enjoy an evening by the fire pit, right at the shore, watching the moon reflect off the water as you roast marshmallows and recount the day. You will sleep well, too! Two of the three bedrooms boast king size beds with the third ‘office’ which has an XL twin bed and twin trundle underneath (all with blackout curtains or in-window blinds). The kitchen is fully outfitted and the sofa table can be pulled next to the kitchen table for extra seating. Or dine on the deck on an expandable table.

Because we love our neighbors and respect their desire for an enjoyable season, too, we will strictly enforce our quiet hours of 9pm-9am. Sorry, no pets, no exceptions.

Really nice location

We had great weather, so we spent the week outside on the lake, but the cabin was really nice too. We loved the beach feel of the back yard. Very comfortable for our family. We also had our extended family join us for up for a couple days and that was very comfortable too.

Green Lake Treasure

Our two week stay was wonderful. This is a great family house that is equipped with everything you might need. We enjoyed having the Kayak and Paddle Board available as well as other family games and toys. Green Lake is very clean, quiet and lots of fish were caught. We had lots of treasured family time here and hope to come back. Also, the owner is very pleasant and helpful when needed.

Family memories

This is the 5th time weve stayed here. It is always clean, comfortable, and ample space for our extended family. Close to outdoor activities, and Traverse City as well. Our kids love the kayaks, and the new dock is a great addition. Great stone/sandy road for family bike rides. Owners are flexible, friendly, and easy to communicate with. We love the "brown cottage!"

Wonderful home on a beautiful lake

We really loved staying in this house. The sandy beach was used for hours daily by the kids, the kayaks were also enjoyed daily. We were lucky enough to see loons on the lake multiple times, along with many other birds that flew by while we enjoyed the deck, which we also did for hours daily. The house itself was also great, the beds were comfortable, the bedrooms were dark, the AC kept us cool and the house was very well stocked. The only slight downside to the home is the smell of the well water while showering, which is mildly unpleasant, but won’t stop us from hopefully returning for another stay.

Lakehouse Stay

All my adult children ages 22-29, enjoyed our stay. Loved the beautiful lake, all the amentities surrounded by nature. Perfect place to stay and visit the dunes, enjoy family time, hiking and lake living.

Beautiful North Woods lake house.

Charming lake house

We had such a lovely stay at this house. Everything in the description was accurate and we had everything we needed. The outdoor space really can't be beat. It was very convenient to our group's activities at Interlochen across the lake. The hosts were great with communication and the caretaker was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

Tranquility

Beautiful cabin! We stayed for a girls trip and it was absolutely wonderful! We had coffee every morning by the lake and had a fire every night. The cabin has everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed our stay and it was hard to leave. Great weekend to rest and rejuvenate. We will definitely come back. Debi was amazing to deal with. She was so helpful and her response time to my messages were immediate. A great experience overall!

Stunning!

This property was the perfect location to celebrate my niece’s 21st birthday. It feels like a secluded getaway but is close to so many great destinations. The cabin is spacious (more than the photos show), modern, and absolutely beautiful. I would absolutely suggest this cabin for anyone looking to stay close to Traverse City but also wanting to get away from it all.

Green Lake Cottage

We had a wonderful stay. The kitchen is well equipped, there was plenty of towels and the sheets were comfortable. We enjoyed the big deck, the sandy beach and the kayaks and fishing boat. Green Lake is beautiful and very clear. We also had fun fishing, tubing and skiing on the Pontoon we rented.

Great Location!

Our family had a great time visiting Green Lake. The house was perfect for our family of five. It is also in a great location to explore the area. We spent one day in a Frankfort and one day in Traverse City. The house is also in a perfect spot with beach front and uninterrupted views. Can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful week away!

Our family had a fantastic week at The Cabin on Green Lake! We were able to use the kayaks and paddle board out on the lake! We made s’mores in the fire pit! We traveled to area attractions (Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes) and ate at some great restaurants! The property was a perfect place for 6 of us (2 grandparents, 2 parents, 2 kids) to enjoy family time! Communication with the owners and property manager was always friendly, welcoming, and prompt. We would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great place to stay in this area of Michigan!

We really enjoyed the boats and paddle board Took the rowboat up the river to find turtles and birds. Enjoyed sitting on the porch of the cabin. Property as described Only thing missing was hand and dish soap.

Great Location to Enjoy NW Michigan

Our family of 5 (kids ages 11,8,8) stayed the week of 6/13/21 and had a wonderful vacation. At the time of our stay we found the house to be exactly as pictured and listed. We picked this rental based highly on outdoor space (sandy beach, kayaks/paddleboards, firepit, deck) and location to many towns/activities in NW Michigan. Inside is furnished nicely and had everything we needed. Twin boys loved sharing the loft space and we found the beds/linens nice after a busy day of exploring. Just a few restaurants close, but worked fine for us coupled with a 2 nights of a hot dog roast which the kids enjoyed. We are novice fishermen; caught a couple of little fish off the dock. Water depth is pretty shallow which is good for younger kids/playing (even at the end of the dock). We had great weather the entire week and the lake was very calm/quiet. Owner and Property Manager were helpful and attentive during the planning/booking process and during our stay. We visited Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, Leland, Traverse City, etc all 30-45 minutes away and did hikes/climbs, tube float on river, kayak on river, and explored shops. We went to a Traverse City Pit Spitters Baseball game on a last minute whim; nice stadium and fun outing one evening (less than 20 min away). Would definitely recommend!

Awesome place!

We had a great time at the cozy cabin! Enjoyed lots of time cruising the lake which offered amazing scenery and great fishing. The cabin was perfect and laid out nice. I would highly recommend staying here. I hope we can make it back!

Fantastic stay!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin and were so impressed with its charm, location, beauty, and cleanliness. The owners thought of everything and were so helpful and nice throughout our rental process. We loved the beach and enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous location

We had a perfect week - relaxing by the lake and taking in the lovely scenery was the highlight. We enjoyed using kayaks and paddle board every day. The kitchen was well equipped. Summer Vacation "On Golden Pond"

Our family loved our summer vacation on Green Lake. Watching the sunrise was absolutely stunning. The loons provided a nice symphony each morning. The cottage was well stocked and comfortable. We enjoyed all of the water toys especially the SUP and kayak. We rented a pontoon boat for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed tubing and swimming out in the lake. A rare peaceful lake in Northern Michigan- truly felt like we were "On Golden Pond"! Golfing at Interlochen Golf Club was a great side trip. The location is convenient and allowed us to tube the Platte River, explore Glen Arbor and Traverse City. We would love to see the fall colors on Green Lake. Thank you for sharing this slice of heaven.

This place couldn't have been better. It was everything we needed and more. It felt like staying at a family cabin with so much history and nostalgia. We all said we wish we could just keep coming back to this place every year. I hope we can.

Very classic lakefront cabin

We were pleasantly surprised with this home! Great up north, outdoors, experience. The kids loved wading in and out of the water and playing along the sandy shore. The water was clear and the atmosphere was very peaceful. The home was well equipped, and had all the comforts of home. Would recommend to any family looking for a relaxing Vacation, off the beaten path, but close enough to modern amenities.
