A spacious mountaintop home, secluded on 15 acres, yet 5 minutes to groceries, shopping, the Pisgah National Forest entrance; and ten minutes to waterfall parking lots and hike / mountain bike trailheads in Dupont State Recreational Forest.
Sit back on the wrap-around deck and see for miles and miles as the views constantly change with the sun moving across the sky and occasional clouds passing by.
There are no neighbors in sight. But you're just moments away from shopping, ten minutes from downtown Brevard, twenty minutes from Hendersonville, twenty minutes from the Asheville Regional Airport, and thirty minutes from downtown Asheville and Biltmore Estates.
This classic 2 1/2 story Post and Beam architecture, 2,600 sq. ft., 4 bedroom, 2 ½ bath home is ideally suited for:
Plenty of space and privacy for one, two or three couples.
Indoors and outdoors space to play. A good fit for two families with a handful of kids each. Adult nuclear family reunions with parents are also a great fit for up to eight. Kids will love Sliding Rock, just 10 miles away; and exploring the river and waterfall scenes from the Hunger Games movie, set in Dupont.
Location is between Dupont and Pisgah. You can leave the house, get in a nice ride and be back home in 90 minutes. Or go for the day and never ride the same moderate to expert-level trail twice. Sycamore Cycles and The Hub are both two miles.
In the heart of the Land of Waterfalls, you can experience a different waterfall every day for weeks on end. Some are on the side of the road. Some are easy, moderate, or difficult hikes. Some are grandiose and jaw-dropping. Some are intimate, private and tranquil.
Craft Beer Explorers.
There are dozens of breweries in the surrounding area, each designed in its own unique style to accommodate the bustling beer tourism scene. Two of the superstars are especially convenient. Oskar Blues might list “Brevard” on a can of Dale’s, but they’re right next door to the Pisgah Forest Post Office, less than 4 miles away. Sierra Nevada – locally known as “Malt Disney World" – is an easy 20-minute drive. Most breweries are family-friendly and many have toys and games for little tykes.
Owners are foodies and the kitchen is fully equipped. The region is richly populated with independent restaurants that pride themselves on supporting local farmers. Minutes away in downtown Brevard you’ll find some excellent chefs making their mark. Drive 20 minutes to Hendersonville to widen your choices. Or go 35 minutes to downtown Asheville for tons of options without a chain in sight.
Music and Art Lovers.
The acclaimed Brevard Music Center attracts classically trained talent from all over the world, and supports a vibrant live music culture of many genres. Almost half of the Summer Festival concerts there are free and open to the public, and recently they began mixing in mainstream acts like Lyle Lovett, Lee Ann Womack and Ricky Skaggs. The area hosts many festivals, and you’re 30 minutes from Asheville’s thriving independent music scene. You’ll also find movie theaters devoted to independent and foreign films, and an active theater scene and many concert venues here. Visit the artists’ haven West Ashville, just 30 minutes away to discover mountain artisans and their works.
Folks come here from long distances for the best fishing Western North Carolina has to offer. Transylvania County has nearly 500 miles of coldwater creeks, streams and rivers. From our home you are literally minutes from Davidson River and the French Broad River. We’re 9 miles from the Pisgah Fish Hatchery. There is no shortage of guides and outfitters in the area to ensure a memorable, picture-perfect adventure.
Hop in the car and you are 17 miles to the Blue Parkway. Stop by the Pisgah Inn for lunch on a high-altitude deck, or pack a picnic and enjoy the outdoors, with views to both the east and west. The North Carolina Arboretum is 20 minutes away. Historic Biltmore Estate is 35 minutes from the house. And guests love visiting Pretty Place, a quiet, serene place of beauty that is breath taking.
You’ll find an abundance of the most beautiful mountain courses, both local and within a 30 – 45-minute drive from the house. Etowah Valley is just 5 minutes from the house. Connestee Falls and Sherwood Forest is just south of downtown Brevard. Nearby Hendersonville offers several amazing courses. And you are 25 miles from Lake Toxaway Country Club.
We love this note from of a couple celebrating an anniversary and had all kinds of plans for their visit. “We spent one full day on the deck, relaxing and taking in the amazing mountain views. All those plans and we never left the house. It tuned out to be exactly what we needed.”

We are a large family with roots in the area and a love for nature and, in particular, the wonders of the mountains. We are avid mountain bikers and selected this home for its proximity to Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Recreational Forest, arguably the most epic mountain bike trail systems in the eastern US. We are frequent travelers, typically finding accommodations for ourselves on VRBO or AirBnB. We strive to provide the ideal visit for our guests.

nothing short of amazing!
We were so fortunate to find this gem of a house in Pisgah Forest. The location is unreal - 270 degrees of spectacular views. The house has everything - wifi, hot-tub, grill, ping-pong, washer, drier, streaming tv, stereo system. it's clean and isolated. just perfect
This is where you want to be... and never leave...
Everything about our stay in this home was fantastic. Our group was two adult couples from Southeastern Wisconsin and a fifth friend who joined us while passing through. Though we were not traveling with children, this home was certainly very family friendly.
What we liked most were the indescribably spectacular views from all angles and the feeling of privacy, not being able to see or hear neighbors from the house. The drive up and down really built excitement every time we made it, and coming around the curve to when the house comes into view is breathtaking every time. The hosts are EXPERTS in hospitality, and no detail has been forgotten with amenities and helpful navigation of the property, including labeled light switches, home "instructions book", and even bird watching books. They are very friendly and professional in their thorough communications, yet still make it feel like you are just staying at a friend's house while they are away.
The architecture is in blissful harmony with the environmental surroundings, so welcoming and comfortable that we never wanted to leave. However, the location is also absolutely perfect for venturing to area activities in Pisgah, DuPont, Brevard, Hendersonville, Asheville, and the like. There are great restaurants and convenient shopping nearby. We were in town for the Mountain Song Music Festival, and we found this property to be a perfect retreat from our day in the crowd. Only 10 minutes or so from the Brevard Music Center, which was nice. The beds are EXTREMELY comfortable and the linens soft and fresh. Kitchen is well-stocked, and the large capacity laundry works well. We cannot thank the hosts enough for opening their home to share with others. A treat of an experience we will always remember and hopefully return to very soon.
DO NOT MISS a SUNSET from the deck when you stay here!
Amanda, we've found it hard to capture the essence of our home in words, but you've done a fine job. Thank you!
This house was perfect for two families! Beautiful views and sunsets.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at this house. The house was spacious for two families and comfortable. The views and sunsets were beautiful. The location was perfect. We enjoyed the nearby hikes, sliding rock, Brevard and Sierra Nevada. The owner was very responsive and provided lots of useful information. We would definitely stay here again.
We knew you would love the location. You were so respectful of our home. You are always welcome.
Beautiful Mountain views while still conveniently located to trails and rivers!
This was a perfect get away for our family! The lay out of the home maximized time spent together, on the beautiful wrap around deck and spacious living room bathed in natural light, while still providing individualized space that was just perfectly set apart. The kitchen is spacious and a joy to prepare meals in - we did not eat out once during our stay, and grocery stores within a mile of the cabin make it super convienient. Our overall stay was relaxing and jam packed full of exploring the area! we will definitely be coming back!
We loved hearing about your adventures, Alta. Your essay in our guest book overwhelmed us with joy. You and your family are welcome anytime!
We loved staying at this clean beautiful property!
We had an amazing time at this house. It is clean, beautiful, and a great place to unplug with the kids! We did spent alot of time exploring the beautiful sites and ammenities in this amazing state. The owner made the stay very warm and inviting. The kids loved the ping pong table as well as the lounge area downstairs. It was their escape to play games and read. Coffee on the beautiful deck in the morning is a MUST! The sunsets in the evening are one of a kind with all the fabulous views in the house. We will definitely be back! The house is perfectly located to where you can get to everything quite quickly! Thanks to the owners for making everything from booking to arriving very easy and painless for us. All we had to worry about was where and what we were going to do!
Thanks, Michael. The sunsets are mesmerizing. In fact, I just uploaded a photo that our current guests shared from last night. It's the one featuring the gazebo. Check it out!
Extremely beautiful and relaxing place to decompress and go out do all the fun things you want to do
My family and I absolutely loved this beautiful home. My boys really enjoyed the ping pong table every day which kept them away from their Electronics. We stayed very busy and on the road a lot but it was nice to come home and decompress in this relaxing cabin on the porch with the waterfall running and looking out to the mountains. We did spend one whole day at the cabin and that was the day it rained and it was just so relaxing and wonderful. Looking forward to being able to stay at this beautiful cabin in the future
We're so pleased your family had such an enjoyable vacation. There's nothing like sunny days, but relaxing on the porch and watching an occasional isolated rain cloud approach over the distant mountains and pass by is truly majestic.
