Great location for everything just a few things need upgraded to make this apartment good Could do with a proper clean the crockery had chips on them Rug in living room health hazard slips and has turned up corners Needs curtains lights from courtyard shines in bedroom Sofa sinks when you sit on No shower mat Shame about noisy neighbours

Lovely apartment

Lovely apartment with 2 good bedrooms and bathrooms one of which is en suite, in a great location. Only 2 minute walk from Betty's Tea room and shops. On first floor but has a lift. Beautiful views of Minster.

Once we were able to check in, we did not have any other difficulties. The apartment was immaculate and very nicely decorated. Very conveniently located to everything. The difficulty was entering in the later evening. It was confusing. Once in, no other problems.

Wonderful

This is our second stay at the property and have already booked another. The location is perfect with everything right on your doorstep, including a stunning view of the minster from the living room, yet the property is quiet. Good size kitchen for cooking and living room for relaxing, cannot fault it at all.

A spacious comfortable apartment in the heart of York. A nice touch with a small welcome pack. Free parking was a bonus. Stays York was very helpful with all my questions and enquiries. Only downside was apartment not available until 4pm on day of arrival which is rather late.

Great location. Busy on Saturday. Everything in apartment suited us. Wifi and heat kept shutting down. Figured out on our own to shut everything down and turn on. Worked like a charm after that. Would be nice to have a few kitchen staples as we are coming from another country with no car so difficult to carry salt, cooking oil, plastic wrap, kitchen paper as we travel.

Wonderful York trip

Great location, clean, comfortable, very nicely furnished, secure. There were three of us, my husband, me and my sister. We liked being able to come back to the apartment any time we wanted to-location in city centre made this possible. Close to everything. Apartment is on the second floor, but there is an elevator (we used the stairs). Queen bed in the master is two singles pushed together, and a dresser or drawers in the second bedroom would be helpful, or maybe a luggage rack. All in all, we'd come back again.

The apartment is in the most perfect location. In the centre of York with amazing views of the Minster. So easy to pop in and out when you need a rest from the whirl of the city. The apartment was lovely and clean, very comfortable. It is looking a tad tired in places and could do with some tlc plus a rug in the living room would be great. However, it cannot be faulted for location. The staff at Stays York were friendly and helpful

The location was very convenient for tourism albeit we had not accounted for York's popularity as a "hen night" destination. Consequently there was a bit too much late night noise. However, the apartment was exceptionally clean. The mattresses were quite uncomfortable though and the children's bedroom had a blind with warped slats which let in light very early in the morning. But , in all, kitchen and bathrooms worked and the value proposition was good. Stays York was a great vendor and very responsive to messages.

Nice location

Great location in a quiet area behind the shops. The flat was a bit tired and there were a few things that could have been cleaned a bit better, however, it was fine for a short stay. The parking permit had not been registered (no fault of ours, the details were given in an email) so when we came to leave the car park we were asked to pay a significant amount. It took about an hour, but eventually the situation was resolved by Stays York, meaning our 6-hour journey was even longer. There's a question below this that asks whether we'd recommend the property to others. That's not a thing we do, so can't be taken as a judgment on the property itself.

Great location and good value for money

Overall the accommodation was really good value for money and the location was perfect. It was clean and tidy, however the drainage in the twin bed bathroom needs looking at as the water did not drain away very quickly when using the sink and the shower as they kept filling up with water. The heating was easy to use and control (which was handy as it was very cold outside!) The bed I slept in was harder than I’m used to but the bedding was clean and warm. As I previously mentioned, the location was perfect as it was in the city centre which made it very easy to travel around the city and it was only a 10 min walk from the station, however, there was some noise disturbance due to the city nightlife. The accommodation does need some updating as it looks a little tired in some areas. I would consider coming back to this accommodation in the future - thank you Stays York for excellent customer service and providing lots of information relating to the accommodation and also York and surrounding areas.

Fantastic location but needs a re-fresh

We had 3 nights here, the location is fantastic literally can’t get anymore central than this. There were a few quite disappointing issues inside the properly that needs addressing -for the price point this apartment is at its dissatisfactory. The metal Venetian blinds were extremely dusty and some of the mechanism were breaking. The kick board (skirting) along the sink and dishwasher in the kitchen kept falling off! This wasn’t a pretty sight. The tv signal was really bad wether it was through the Ariel or the internet sometimes it was unwatchable. The sink and shower in the en-suite kept filling with water so some drainage issues there not being maintanined. I know iv written a lot of negatives but the things iv listed are big things In my opinion. the size of the apartment was perfect for us and we enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table a lot The beds were comfortable and there was fans in each bedroom which was lovely. Having 2 bathrooms was a bonus

Fabulous Apartment

After studying the Internet for suitable accommodation to stay in York for a family ‘get together’ we decided on number 12 Stonegate, due to the location and positive reviews. We were not disappointed and we would definitely stay in this apartment again, it is in a central location, spacious and very well equipped. There were a couple of issues about the apartment which we needed to contact Stays about, and they provided an excellent level of customer service in sorting these out. I have not used ‘Stays York’ before, but following their excellent level of customer service prior to and during our stay, I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others or using them again.

Great apartment, very comfortable and in a good location. Disabled access wasn’t good enough for guest in a wheelchair due to inadequate ramps. Parking permit to park near to apartment not available which was only disclosed after the booking was made. parking was at a public car park a distance from the apartment.

12 Stonegate Court - March 2020

The process of having to return the parking permit to the flat and then the keys to the office is a pain, particularly if you have to leave your car in the car park as this means extra expense once the parking permit is taken back. The television reception is awful. The one in the kitchen didnt seem to work at all and the one in the lounge had virtually no tuned channels when we arrived. We retuned the set but still could not get any BBC channels and the ones that did tune in initially kept disappearing. It would be good to know what food.drink is provided at the outset but there is a small food shop next door. Otherwise the location is great and the flat is well presented. Otherwise, the flat is very nice

Hi Michael Thank you very much for your review. We have noted the comments that you have made. We are really sorry to hear that the TV wasn't working correctly, if you stay with us again do please let us know immediately about any issues like this and we will have them rectified as soon as possible, we don't want any of our guests to have any problems whilst they are staying with us. We have also noted your comments about the keys and the parking permit. The parking permit is for the use of the guests whilst they are staying in the property, but we do need to have it returned at the 11 am check out so that it is in place for the following visitors and the keys need to be returned to the office as it isn't possible to place a key safe at this particular property due to its location. We do though try to make things as easy as possible for our guests and our office is only 5 minutes walk from the apartment. All the properties that we manage in York are self catering and all are only minutes walk from restaurants, supermarkets and deli's. We hope that these areas didn't impact too much on your stay, Number 12 is a lovely apartment and, as you say, in a great location and we hope that you will stay with us again in the future.
