The apartment is situated in a ground floor of a private complex called “O Monte” with direct access to a beautiful lawn garden with a very large communal swimming pool with Roman steps, 2 children pools and a tennis court. It is a very quiet, relaxing and safe place. The complex is totally enclosed by walls and gates. Next to the complex there is a supermarket and a café with outside tables and free wireless broadband internet (Wi-Fi). There are several wonderful beaches and restaurants just a few minutes’ walk away and the Salgados golf course at 2km.

The apartment is very spacious, light and airy, comfortable, well-furnished and tastefully decorated. It is fully equipped with air conditioning and it has free access to Wi-Fi.

Accommodation comprises of a large lounge & dining area with a fireplace, cable TV with channels like BBC News, BBC entertainment, Sky News, CNN, France 24, TVE, Fox, AXN, MOV, Discovery, National Geographic among others and a DVD system. The lounge has a beautiful view over the pool and the garden and it has direct access to them throughout a patio door to a private covered terrace with a dining area and a BBQ. The master bedroom comprises of twin beds, ample storage, an en-suite bathroom and a patio door to the main terrace with a very nice view over the garden and the pool. The second bedroom comprises of twin beds, ample storage, an en-suite bathroom and a patio door to a small terrace with a nice view over the garden. Both bedrooms have an optional Z-Bed for a child. The third bathroom is located near the dining area and the 3 bathrooms features bath with power shower over. The kitchen/ breakfast room has a patio door to a small terrace and it is equipped with everything you would have in your own home namely, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, expresso machine, washing machine and a small TV with satellite channels.

Una casa para disfrutar

La casa no desmerece en nada a las fotografías, Es una casa bonita, amplia, luminosa y limpia. La cocina está completísima, con todo tipo de utensilios para cocinar a gusto. El salón es muy bonito y cómodo, con una gran mesa. El porche que da a la piscina es muy agradable, nosotros lo disfrutamos mucho. La piscina es grande y permite nadar a gusto. El ambiente es muy tranquilo y relajante. Mis hijos estuvieron encantados con la pista de tenis. Más que en una casa de alquiler te sientes como un invitado, a lo que también contribuye la amabilidad de Pedro, que desde el principio nos hizo fácil nuestra llegada un poco improvisada. Las personas que nos recibieron Alzira y su marido eran también encantadoras,( no deja de sorprenderme la exquisita amabilidad portuguesa) La zona es ideal para visitar playas y calas. Una casa para apuntar en la agenda.

Great property for family holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at O Monte, Gale. We were greeted by the housekeeper upon arrival to a very clean property and welcome basket of goodies and emergency food.

The apartment was exactly as the photos project, very spacious and so well equipped for a self catering holiday. It's not often you find a holiday apartment so equipped in the kitchen to be able to prepare any type of meal including a gas bbq and have a dishwasher and washing machine was also very convenient.

We loved the having a ground floor garden flat where you could view the communal grounds and pool from your own patio. The infinity pool was an excellent size around 16 metres in length so you can swim lengths and despite being July it was quiet and there was always an opportunity to swim alone in the pool!

The supermarket was just next door and the new Italian restaurant Bellavita was excellent for pizzas, steak and fish dishes but a 20 min walk.

I do recommend a car as there aren't many restaurants walking distance and the beach was really a 30 minute walk which was very difficult for 3yrs old. Gale is a very quiet resort and would benefit from a bar for the evening and a few more restaurants.

When we hired the car we were able to explore the Algarve and visit many beautiful beaches.

A local beach and an excellent fish restaurant on the beach please go to Evaristo beach and restaurant and also for cocktails at 7pm on the beach bar. You will have to book for the evening no matter what time of year!

Also recommend Quinta Saudade in the village behind Gale for horse riding. For an hour and half at 35 euro through the countryside and gallop on the beach, it's well worth the experience.

Albufiera is only a 15 minute drive with plenty of nightlife and restaurants.

Gale shopping complex on N125 may be worth a visit.

The golden triangle is interesting to see the beautiful villas and Villamoura marina.

Slide & Splash is great for kids and also Zoo marine and Aqualand are very close by.

Beautiful, practical and relaxing

We loved this place. The apartment is incredibly spacious and well equipped with anything you might need. We really enjoyed being able to cook and eat at home; so much more relaxing than a hotel. We also had a lovely welcome basket with helpful bits (including cake and wine!)

The internet and UK TV channels (amongst others) also helped to make us feel at home.

The complex was peaceful and it was great to be able to sit on our veranda and feel we were next to the pool but still had our privacy. The beach is around 10 minutes walk with a few restaurants there as well. The beach was clean and wasn't overcrowded (although we visited out of season so not sure if that's the same all year round).

We loved it. We would definitely recommend it and consider going back again.

Wonderful and relaxing

We stayed at this apartment in September having visited Gale 3 previous times and this is our favourite accommodation by far. Everything is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with a quality finish which really added to our stay.

Communication with the owner before travelling was excellent and very helpful, ensuring we would have everything we needed for our 2 year old while away from home including a smart gas BBQ. We were greeted on arrival by a lovely couple who caretake for the owner and they work hard to keep the property looking lovely also visiting twice during our stay to clean and change sheets which was wonderful.

The grounds are safe,quiet and beautiful and the position is well situated for the beaches and restaurants near by, all are an easy walk. The re-opening of the supermarket next door is a real bonus and in no way detracts from the peace of the complex making it a great option to stay with or without a car.

We hope to return again next year and would not hesitate to recommend to anybody who appreciates tasteful, comfortable accommodation in a peaceful location with good access to attractions and facilities.

Lovely spacious apartment with v close pool

The apartment is lovely - spacious, clean and well maintained. It had everything we needed and was well located for supermarkets, beach and restaurants. The gardens are nice and private and well looked after and the pool is a good size and very close to the apartment.

A local map and information pack would be helpful but there is WiFi in the apartment so we used this to find what we needed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the apartment.

Very nice apartment

This is a lovely apartment on a corner plot. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The pool and gardens are also in immaculate condition. The apartment is very central-next to a supermarket and café/cake shop.. There are many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Would recommend Sao Domingos and O Girosol. The beaches are also only a few minutes walk away. Maybe for anyone who has not stayed there before-an information pack would be useful. Having holidayed for years in this part of the Algarve we would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and complex.

There are numerous Blue Flag beaches near the apartment, being the closest one Praia do Lourenço (500m) and Galé Beach (600m) with 3 beach bars/restaurants, water sport activities, sun bed hire and lifeguard in the summer months, within walking distance of the Salgados nature reserve (ideal for birdwatching) and within a very short drive of the Salgados golf course. The beach of Sao Rafael is located about 3km of distance and is has been recently voted the 5th best beach in Europe.


Just next door there is an extremely popular BBQ'd fresh fish restaurant – Ti Manel and about 5 minutes walking around there are a number of good value restaurants. Near the apartment (400m) is the Boutique Resort Vila Joya with a two-Michelin-starred restaurant into 2012 World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.


Next door there is a supermarket and just 5 minutes’ walk from the apartment is one of the finest supermarkets in the Algarve – Apolónia (Waitrose equivalent).


Algarve has several world class golf courses. The nearest one is the Salgados course on a distance of 2 Km and it is considered to be one of Algarve’s best golf courses. Within a short distance there are several world class golf courses such as, Balaia Golf Village (11.2 Km), Pine Cliffs (14.6 Km), Amendoeiras (9.5 Km), Old Course, Pinhal, Laguna, Millennium (23 Km). There are also many club hire shops.


Nearby Guia town, a wider selection of international brands shops is available at Algarve Shopping Mall and at a Retail Park. There is also a large supermarket (open Mon-Sun until 12:00 pm), restaurants, cinema which shows films in English with subtitles and bowling.

The Zoomarine and the Slide & Splash Water Park park are situated 6.5 Km and 9.5 Km away, respectively.


Guia town is 5 km away and is famous for many good value restaurants specializing in chicken “piri piri”. There is also a traditional food market with fresh local products such as fresh fish, fruits and vegetables.

The Old Town of Albufeira (8km) is one of the Algarve’s premier tourist hot spots, with its vibrant hub of restaurants, bars, street entertainers and shops spilling out onto the cobbled streets with old fisherman houses. The Marina of Alfubeira is located at 4 Km of distance.

The historical town of Silves (20 Km) has the last remaining Moorish castle in the Algarve.
