Another couple of miles up the coastline brings you to the traditional fishing port of Seahouses where there is a supermarket and a choice of places to eat and boat trips to the Farne Islands depart regularly from the harbour. Travelling 8 miles inland from Embleton is the historic market town of Alnwick where the Duke of Northumberland resides in Alnwick Castle. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction as well as Barter Books.
