Fantastic house in a fantastic location

We love it here. The house and it’s environs are beautiful. Elisa and Arne are great hosts, attentive and thoughtful for their guests. The WiFi was perfect, the house well equipped and the views from the terrace are just stunning. A great experience all round. We are very well travelled, have stayed in dozens of towns, villages and homes and rate this very highly.

Arno has been writing this after we asked what we have been missing. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- With 'need an update' we mean to say that some things need a refresh. For instance - We didn't use the sofa on the veranda. We found the mattress not clean. -The cupboard with the television was moldy. - maybe it is a tip to install anti-mosquito screens for the windows. This prevents mosquitoes from coming in. Overal we love your place, the house, the view and the pool. Thanks again for making our vacation a pleasurable time. Greetings Arno

A lovely ,peaceful setting in a comfortable property. Well appointed inside with everything needed for a relaxing stay. One negative - charged 110 euros for cleaning and were still expected to do most of the work, we did not receive notification of this until a few days before departure.

La Ferme Tremolat

Lovely clean accommodation, comfortable beds, covered veranda forgot or rainy weather, beautiful garden. The other property the tobacco barn is of an equal standard. Both have their own beautiful garden areas either side of the pool. Although not fenced off both properties have privacy from eachother. Shared washing machine and separate dryer in the pool house. Idyllic location with a short walk 10 to 15 mins to Tremolat where there is a cafe bar, two restaurants and another cafe. Fish and chip van on a Weds - order on line. Great location with easy drives to Lalinde, Issegiac, Bergerac, Domme, Sarlat and Beynac. Will definitely book again and stay here. My two dogs loved it too.

Nice house, beautiful shared pool & garden

We ultimately had a lovely stay. All in all, it's a nice house with a pleasant covered terrace and a view of the beautiful garden and delightful pool. However, to be honest, we definitely didn't expect to share the pool and garden with other renters, nor did we anticipate sharing the bathroom with our friends who visited for a week. Based on the advertisement, we were expecting complete privacy, which is something we always prioritize when renting a house, and never been an issue before. We value our privacy during vacations, especially due to our dog who gets uneasy around other people. Fortunately, the owners are dog lovers, which was a stroke of luck, and they were even kind enough to look after him for an afternoon. In our opinion, the house is better suited for a maximum of 2 adults or for parents with children, rather than 2 couples. (Please note: one of the bathrooms consists of the only toilet in the house along with a sink, but no shower or bathtub, so you share both bathrooms with eachother). Additionally, it's important to know that you have to pay separately for cleaning before departure.

Really nice place in an Ideal position

Firstly, i always write a lengthy review as I believe it helps everyone. We had serious problems finding the house and had to message the owner a few times. It would be helpful to have received precise info a week before we travelled. To have a photo of the road, exterior and clear signage would be beneficial. The house is very rustic with a fully furnished kitchen with everything you’d need. Sofa’s are comfortable and the whole living area is well planned out. Didn’t use the Dining table but it’s spacious for 4. Double Bed was comfy, pillows weren’t used as we always take our own, clothing space is a bit tight as only has a few small narrow shelves for anything other than hanging bits and could use a few more hangers. There is a small square window which doesn’t have any covering, which you can see in from what I believe is the owners side garden and could do with a curtain? The shower is good, power and heat wise but we advised when we left that the water wasn’t flowing away as it should and needs attention immediately… there’s a basin in the shower room as well as the toilet which is handy. The twin French doors open on to a good sized terrace with a large table thats great for outdoor eating & gives a lovely view of the garden. It also has a French day bed which has seen better days as the covering is quite soiled.. We booked this property as it has a lovely pool and unfortunately we found that later on arrival it was shared with another gîte at the bottom of the garden, it wasn’t mentioned on the Vrbo site that it was shared. Fortunately the other couple weren’t about the same time we used it. It is not fenced off. The pool house has the washing machine and dryer in it, but the outside covered area needs a spruce up and doesn’t look as the picture. The garden, although fenced off to the surrounding properties, isn’t fenced between the gîtes, but a lovely large space. A few items, the sofas/cushions need a serious vacuuming, once the vacuum cleaner has been fixed or replaced, we found it was blocked somehow ans doesn’t ‘pick up’, the description needs to be clear on the pool, a few glasses broke due to a couple being cracked, although we replaced the wine glasses. It’s a shame that the property can’t have insect nets attached as all the windows/doors open inwards. We never had any problem with the wifi, which was good. It’s a lovely house and could be a real gem if spruced up as looking a bit tired in some places.

Thank you for your nice review, but we have to correct you a bit. There are 16 hangers in the house and many coat racks. The tissue you mention was soiled, If you have looked better, it is the pattern. The small window prox. 40x40 is typical for the Tobacco barn here in Perigord. There is a basked just on the shelf, to place in the window. Sorry you did not like or understand our “beach look” by the pool house. We have send you a Drop-box with 10 pages of information’s before you came to Tremolat. Where is the key- the road to Tremolat- house no.- GPS coordinates- drawings, pool regulations- and so on. Our advice to you is, do not write: I did’nt see on VRBO…. because you admit , you don’t read, what you should have done, that goes also for our Drop-box file.

Mixed Review

I'm on a 2 and a half month trip in Europe, with friends joining me at different times. Over the last 2 months, I've stayed at 5 VRBO type houses and one B&B. I gave all 5 places (and the B&B) 5 star ratings. This property was an exception. Pros: Lovely house inside. Very clean. Tremolat is a lovely tiny town. Lots of open fields around the house. Cons: There are 3 houses on the property which all share the pool. Pool, patio and pool house pretty run down. Not as pictured on VRBO. Pool was clean. Being gone so long from home, I needed to see my emails, access websites, etc. When I asked about wifi, I was told that this house (of the 3) had the weakest wifi, so to speed it up, I had to go outside. In fact, my iphone never was able to log on at all, and my new Macbook Air laptop could access only one site (Yahoo mail), but was not able to open ANY emails. When she said slow email, I figured I wouldn't be able to stream. But NO access to websites or emails? Inside or outside. This to me should be marketed as "NO wifi "on the VRBO site. Check-in process was not up to standard. I was informed 4 days before my arrival that the owners would not be in France during my visit. I had to request someone to be there to give keys and answer questions. Yes, I know not all properties had owners present, but being from outside Europe, I did not rent those properties. At my other rentals, the owners were present, friendly and helpful, understanding that there are differences between Europe and US. There was no information book describing how to use TV (channels were given on a card, but they were 3 digits and the TV only had 1 or 2 digit channels). So never got to watch TV. Fridge was warm on a hot day. Finally figured out it was unplugged. Not a problem if that had been explained to me. No instructions for appliances, etc. Only instructions were on how to go into town to dump the garbage. One medium size bath towel and hand towel for 1 week. No pool towel. The oddest problem was that the owner REFUSED to give me directions from the town to the house. I requested this in 4 emails. I was given an address on a street that doesn't exist on GPS. I asked at the 2 restaurants in town and none of the restaurant owners had ever heard of this street. And they live in the town! After an hour of hunting, I stumbled on the sign hidden in bushes. In short, didn't feel welcome at all. This was not the right property for me.

Nous avons été extrêmement déçu de cette location dans laquelle il n’a pas été possible de rester : notre séjour a été de quelques heures au lieu de 15 jours…En effet le réfrigérateur ne fonctionnant pas ce que la propriétaire a mis près de 10 jours à reconnaître, refusant toute négociation financière après notre départ. Merci à Abritel d’avoir finalement réglé ce très désagréable problème. En outre, mais c’est bien moins grave, le ménage (facturé 110…) n’avait manifestement pas été fait (multiples toiles d’araignée, poussière partout etc…)ce que la encore la propriétaire ne reconnaissait pas. La région est magnifique mais il existe de nombreuses locations de qualité, autres que celle ci.

Heel mooi vakantiehuis

Het is een prachtig vakantiehuis met een grote tuin erbij waar ons hondje zich helemaal kon uitleven. Rondom het huis verschillende terrassen. Je krijgt hier echt het franse vakantiegevoel.

Superschönes großes Haus in ruhiger Umgebung mit tollem Blick

Wir hatten einen sein schönen Urlaub in Trémolat. Das Haus ist sehr schön und mit gutem Geschmack eingerichtet. Aus dem großen offenen Wohn- und Kochbereich blickt man durch große Fenster auf den riesigen Garten und die Landschaft. Ein perfekter Ort für Erholung und Entspannung - und gutes Essen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt in Trémolat, l‘Hangar

Dieser Urlaub in Trémolat ist mithin einer der schönsten Aufenthalte in Frankreich, unsere Erwartungen wurden bei Weitem übertroffen: das Haus hatte allen Komfort und ist sehr geschmackvoll und liebevoll eingerichtet, der Blich von der überdachten Terrasse über den Pool bis zum Waldrandist überwältigend, die Gastgeberin sehr hilfsbereit und hat viele tolle Tipps gegeben um die Gegend zu erkunden

Sehr erholsamer Urlaub

Tremolat ist ein wunderbares Dörfchen mit hohem Urlaubsfaktor. Die Unterkunft haben wir ohne Probleme gefunden, der Check-In war völlig problemlos. Wenn das Wetter besser gewesen wäre, hätten wir auch den schönen Pool und den großen Garten nutzen können. Und da das Haus leider nur Elektroöfen besitzt, die kaum Wärme erzeugen - nur hohe Zusatzkosten- war so mancher Abend sehr kühl. Gut, dass die Vermieterin noch Decken gebracht hat und auch sonst sehr schnell und effektiv auf Anliegen reagiert hat. Ich würde auf jeden Fall trotzdem empfehlen, warme Decken mitzubringen bei unbeständigem Wetter. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet - die Idee, dass die Mieter für die nächsten Mieter putzen, klappt leider nicht so ganz. Insgesamt haben wir uns gut erholt und wünschen den Vermietern alles Gute.

Wunderbare Unterkunft

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Urlaubswoche in dem Ferienhaus von Elisa und Arne. Es ist sehr schön eingerichtet und bestens ausgestattet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und die Ruhe genossen. In dem großen Garten im Schatten der Bäume oder am Swimmingpool konnte man nach Ausflügen durch das schöne Perigord wunderbar entspannen.

Urlaub in traumhafter Umgebung

Wir haben unseren Urlaub in dem wunderschönen Haus mit Pool und Garten sehr genossen. Die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll, so dass das Haus eine sehr schöne Atmosphäre hat. Die Schlafzimmer sind angenehm kühl, weshalb man auch im heißen Sommer gut schlafen kann. Die Gastgeber Eisa und Arne sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zurückhaltend. Der kleine Ort ist idyllisch, die Menschen alle sehr freundlich. Von hier aus lässt sich das Périgord wunderbar entdecken.
