Why Mark Dresslar chose Talmont

We have been traveling to Tahoe City since 1973 for holidays and summer vacations. We selected this property for purchase for many reasons:

1) Location is very desirable. We love Tahoe City and the West Shore area of Lake Tahoe. In addition, our home is next to Tahoe Conservancy lots with the Tahoe National Forest located across the street.

2) It is a member of the Lake Tahoe Park Association---normally referred to as "Tahoe Park". An excellent 4 acre lakefront private and gated family park located next to the Sunnyside Lodge. We enjoy using the outstanding amenities since we love the outdoors so much.

3) It is near town and we love Tahoe City and being near the Lake. It is the most beautiful area in the world and we are fortunate to enjoy all of its beauty and what it offers.

4) We enjoy the floor plan and the "Great Room" if offers.

5) We have great neighbors and it is a very friendly and quiet community.

6) Our property is within walking distance to Paige Meadows, within 20 minute drive all major ski resorts, the beach club, restaurants, shops, Emerald Bay, etc.

Needs attention. Not well kept.

  • 2 of 5

We were a group of families who have stayed in many Tahoe homes over the years. This home was large enough for us but otherwise quite disappointing. The hot tub did not work, the furniture was beyond well worn with tears in the sofa and chairs, and the kitchen was dirty when we arrived (greasy stove top, crumbs on the counter). There were a couple of holes in the drywall, the kitchen window had plastic bags and duct tape to seal edges, and the exterior doors were drafty and didn’t seal well. The location is nice and the house has potential but until it receives some attention I would not recommend it.

Owner's Response: We appreciate your comments. We contacted our Spa Tech during your stay and he reported the hot tub was working like it always has in the past. We have rented to hundreds of families from all over the U.S. and abroad during the last 15 years. Our property offers a functional floor plan on a large 2 acre lot with outstanding amenities at our private and gated Tahoe Park Beach Club for large groups and families. We will begin remodeling the property soon. Hope to see you again after it is completed.

Good location

  • 4 of 5

My friends and I chose this house for our annual winter vacation. Its in a very nice neighborhood and its convenient to Squaw Valley, Alpine, and Homewood. The house itself was in mediocre condition, but it was a good size and comfortably accommodated all of us. Mark was very responsive and very nice to work with. Overall we had a good time and we were pleased with our stay.

Not family friendy

  • 3 of 5

The beds were not comfortable and it was dirty. It is a great cabin for a bunch of boys in their twenties and not for families.

its ok but not great

  • 3 of 5

House is big and convenient location but we felt uncomfortable with heater downstairs gets too hot while the top floor is cold. Bath room doors doesn't lock easily need to struggle. All the vessels are very dirty and dirt doesn't go away even after washing, we bought paper plates and cups. Dishwasher doesn't work properly. most inconvinient sofa sets with holes in it and broken. etc., etc., I would definetely look for another option before getting into this.

Our first VRBO rental and it was great

  • 4 of 5

We had a large family reunion (5 adults and 6 kids from 1-11 years). There was plenty of room and the weather was perfect. While our hosts were not responsible for the great weather, our evenings were in a large family area with living, dining and kitchen co-located and if it had rained it still would have been fun. We could all be together or when needed hide in one of the more secluded bedrooms or the "game" room with foose ball table. Lake Tahoe is a must see.... we swam multiple times, hiked, biked, and had a nice dinner at Sunnyside restaurant. Access to the Association picnic and swim area was a bonus. One evening we reserved a section and had a nice BBQ. The drive to it was not far and the Association had wagons to move our stuff to the picnic area. Thanks for a great vacation!
