Villa Falaride

Nestled along the beautiful coast of Avola, where the long stretch of golden sand meets the first limestone tuff promontory, stands Villa Falaride. The house is set in a beautiful garden facing the sea and is arranged over two levels. On the first floor, there is a spacious living room adjacent to the kitchen area, which opens onto a splendid veranda overlooking the sea, as well as a bathroom and a laundry room. On the upper floor, a large loggia provides convenient access to the three bedrooms, all of which have private bathrooms and air conditioning. A spacious balcony runs the entire length of the south-facing facade, offering guests a memorable view all the way to the Isola delle Correnti at Capo Passero, the easternmost point of Sicily.<br>In the garden, in the area facing the sea, there is a spa with a whirlpool, chromotherapy, and aromatherapy, complete with a spacious outdoor shower surrounded by greenery.

Very nice view overlooking the sea, we loved the jacuzzi too. The house is very comfortable with AC in all of the rooms. Angela and her husband were very attentive and polite. We had a great stay.

The house was spacious and well-equipped, and the hosts were nice. The only negative thing about the house is that the access to the sea was closed. The house was also clearly marketed as having three bedrooms and air conditioning. However, we were not given access to the third room, as we were told that we had only paid for four people. We could have paid 150 euros per night to get the last room, but we found this unreasonable considering the information in the advertisement. Upon check-in, we were also told that only normal use of air conditioning was included. We only used the air conditioning in the bedrooms at night, and very limited in the living room. Nevertheless, we had to pay 35 euros upon check-out.

Melissa and her family were welcome guests. A small misunderstanding regarding the correct booking process was noted. Having indicated a total of four guests, they wanted to use the third bedroom free of charge, without paying the supplement required for a fifth or sixth person. During the detailed check-in process, they were nevertheless offered use of the third bedroom, applying a discounted supplement of €150, for the entire duration of their stay, as permitted by the bookings made on VRBO. They subsequently declined this offer.

Beautiful villa, wonderful hosts!

Wonderful hosts, villa was perfect for our family. My husband and I and our 2 adult sons had a great time. Welcome snacks were great after a long day travel. Restaurant recommendations were awesome. Beautiful yard over looking the water was nice and relaxing. Thanks for a great vacation!

Clean Avola

Very nice place. Clean and quiet. Space and comfortable. Parking for car available. See a front of the house. Beautiful view. Not much of loud tourist around. Very safe place and most important no garbage around as in another places in Sicily. A lot of possibilities to visit great historical places around. Nice restaurants in Avola and places nearby. But car is the must. Salvatore and Angelawho is owning the place are best ever we met. What makes this place unique are the owners

Well-maintained sea-view property in Avola

Excellent! This rental property is at the ocean end of a 3-unit building (the unit nearest the narrow street is owner-occupied). The bedrooms are very nice, each with its own washroom (and there’s another washroom on the main level). You will love having meals overlooking the sea! If mosquitos are attracted to you bring spray for the evenings. Buy fresh fish at Pescheria Puglisi. The spa is not heated but was warm thanks to the sun. Easy day trips from Avola to Siracusa/Ortigia and Noto. Our hosts were very helpful with recommendations.

Sicilian Experience

True to photos and description, this place is a gem that can’t be beat! The peaceful atmosphere and the warmth from the owners was a joy; just what we needed. Wineries, amazing cuisine and views are all accessible when you stay here. The privacy and gated home also makes for a safe and efficient space as well. The only advice I would pass along to any new traveler is go for the small car! Not only for the community roads but for parking and navigation throughout Sicily! You’ll be thankful you did! Coffee on the balcony and refreshing dips in the spa, you’ll never forget the sounds and sights that the ocean brings. A sweet secret retreat, you’ll plan for your next stay here, I know we are!

Amanda and Riccardo are two very lovable people, sweet, affectionate, respectful of the house and the environment, special guys who after a few hours you have the sensation of knowing them forever. Well equipped kitchen and nice sea view

We did not realise when we booked that no toilet paper could be flushed ( septic tank) Apparently this is quite common in Sicily. We had to empty all used toilet paper into the organic waste bin outside. The owners lived next door and were on hand for any issues. The access road to the property was very narrow but fairly short, a small car would be preferred for access reasons. The WIFI was not adequate for us to stream a film.

Dear guests, we would like to clarify that our bathrooms are connected to the municipal sewer system, but due to bad past experiences, due to rude people who threw all kinds of paper, diapers and non-biodegradable tissues in the bathrooms, we strongly suggest our guests to avoid throwing paper or other things in the toilets, in order not to damage the drainage systems. All our bathrooms are therefore equipped with appropriate buckets and scented plastic bags for the adequate collection of toilet paper. Hope this may help to clarify your comments.

This charming and inviting stay was a wonderful complement to our visit to southeastern Sicily!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Falaride! Our hosts, Angela and her husband were lovey and happily accommodating to our needs before and during our stay (Angela and her husband both speak very good English). When we arrived at the property, they were there to greet us with a warm and spirited introduction and tour of their beautiful home and property, perched on the sea. They also took time to orient us to the places we wanted to visit and local restaurants to enjoy. The home and property were immaculate and comfortable. Being lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean was dreamy, and because we wanted to enjoy cooking, we found the kitchen well equipped, although several of the teflon pans were badly scratched and therefore unable to use. There is a hot tub, but if you intend to use it, let them know in advance because it takes a while for it to heat up and we missed an opportunity to use it. The property was perfectly located within close driving distance to Siracusa, Ortigia, Noto, Ragusa and Modica. I highly recommend this beautiful property if you are intending to visit southeastern Sicily!

Posto bellissimo e rilassante, vicino a mille spiagge e mille cose da vedere, un angolo bellissimo di Sicilia. Unico neo il fatto che la casa fosse in realtà una unità di tre, ed una delle tre unità è occupata dai proprietari e non una casa a se stante come appare dall'annuncio. Questo dettaglio avrebbe dovuto sicuramente essere meglio evidenziato nell'annuncio. Detto questo comunque i proprietari sono stati deliziosamente gentili e discreti, quindi non c'è stato alcun problema.

Casa junto al mar

La casa junto el mar está muy bien, la zona está cerca de los centros históricos de interés del suroeste de Sicilia. Los dueños son muy amables y simpáticos. Nos acogieron muy bien y ayudaron en todo con información y recomendaciones. Lo único es que se debería advertir en el anuncio de la casa que no se permite arrojar papeles higiénicos al wc, por la incomodidad que eso supone,
