Overview

About the property

Enjoy a very secluded place amid the hustle and bustle of south city St. Louis. Built in 1890 with additions added later, this updated yet classic house has all you need. Landscaped courtyard, large shaded back patio w/ gas grill, all surrounded by fencing. Hardwood and tile floors, claw foot tub, high ceilings, central heat and air, ceiling fans, and room for up to 8 people plus Liza the Cat! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: THE 2 FLOOR SUITE, IF AVAILABLE, CAN BE ADDED TO THE MAIN FLOOR ADDING 2 MORE BEDS AND FULL BATH. That listing is under "Private Room + Bathroom in 1890's House". Please book this separately for either 1 or 2 people.

The double lot and high ceilings makes my place seem bigger than it really is guaranteeing that you'll never feel cramped. The gardens and patio are extra rooms in themselves (weather permitting)

I was in town for 6 days.i felt like I was at home instead of being on another persons property. The owner was very gracious and accommodating.

Dutchtown is the largest neighborhood in St. Louis city and was originally known as the German section. It now boasts a very mixed population. Young, old, white, black, gay, straight, affluent, challenged. It has an amazing history, wonderful architecture and a growing sense of renaissance and renewal. It's come a long way since the interstate highways fractured the city and white flight took off toward the suburbs. We still have a long way to go. Always be aware of your surroundings. Close to bus lines, drinking and dining districts. South Grand, Cherokee Street, Soulard, etc. 10 minutes from downtown, 15 minutes to Forest Park (museums, zoo, etc.) and The Grove, 5 minutes from the Anheuser-Busch Brewery and minutes from Ted Drewe's famous frozen custard!!!
