Eastward, enjoy the oceanfront from Windjammer 110’s large covered balcony--there are no buildings to block your view. Sliding glass doors from the living room and the master bedroom open onto this space, where you’ll find a dining table and chairs so that you can enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise. The native grasses and palmetto palms on the dunes provide homes for the resident sea turtles and rabbits, while flocks of seagulls and pelicans patrol the ocean shore.
Through the west-side windows you can watch the sailboats, yachts, and fishing boats floating along the Intracoastal. Tides change the landscape all day, with islands, sandbars, and oyster beds emerging and disappearing; exotic birds fly back and forth from the Matanzas Inlet.
Sunlit from both sides, Windjammer 110's open dining, kitchen, and living area is designed for relaxation. From the living room’s plush sofa and chairs you can watch your favorite shows on the 39" LED smart HDTV, take advantage of the free wireless web access, or play Jenga with the kids. The dining table seats 6 people easily, and there’s room for a few more at the breakfast bar on the opposite side of the kitchen. The kitchen itself comes equipped with everything from oven and stove to microwave and programmable coffee maker, not to mention cookware and tableware galore.
Because there’s so much to see and do during a stay at Windjammer, getting a great night’s sleep is especially important. Our two bedrooms make that easier than you can imagine. The spacious master bedroom has a king-size bed and an ocean view--and if you want to watch something other than the waves of the Atlantic there’s also a 24" LED TV with internet streaming and DVD player. The en-suite bathroom has his-and-her sinks, a walk-in shower, and plenty of storage and counter space.
The 2nd bedroom, with stunning views of the Intracoastal, sports 2 twin beds and a 24" LED TV with wifi streaming and DVD player. There’s a 2nd bathroom as well, with a washer and dryer behind folding doors, along with extra beach towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards. Plenty of fresh bedding and towels will be waiting upon arrival. And should you have an extra overnight guest stop by, Windjammer 110 even comes with a self-inflating air mattress.
A stairway near 110's door provides a shortcut to the fenced-in pool. Once you’re outside, you can head to Windjammer’s tennis courts or take the private boardwalk to the sugary white sands of St. Augustine Beach. Enjoy a stroll to Windjammer's private pier on the Intracoastal, where you can launch a kayak, fish for flounder or sea trout, or simply glory in the sunset. And should you get lucky and haul in a great catch, you can barbecue it on one of Windjammer’s outdoor grills.
You could have an action-packed stay without hopping into your car once. But you’ll probably want to venture out at least a few times. After all, you’ll be just minutes from historic St. Augustine and Marineland. You can even make it to the Orlando theme parks and back again in a day.
