A great family Essex Barn dating back to the 17th century, with lots of space for a great holiday or get together. We are in the middle of the countryside for great walks, there is a hot-tub so bring your wellies and swim gear! Nearest railway station is 10 minutes away (Newport) and Stansted less than 20 minutes. So much space, privacy, equipment and character... a great place to relax and get together, but no loud parties please as we are on a smallholding not too far from neighbours !

50 th celebration

We had an amazing time the pictures on line don’t do it justice it’s even more beautiful on arrival lovely walks close to thaxted and very peaceful only thing the mattresses could of been a bit more comfortable

Beautiful barn in a truly stunning location. We booked the barn as a girls early Christmas break and it was fabulous. Edwin is a great host.and very helpful.

Would love to stay again!

We all so enjoyed staying at this property. Our host could not have been more helpful. We had a marvelous time. The patio areas were wonderful for enjoying family and we enjoyed the peace and quiet and views over the fields. It felt like being at home and we would all love to stay there again. Perfect Spot for a Multigenerational Family Reunion

We stayed at this beautiful barn house for a family reunion / wedding, and it was absolutely perfect for our group, which ranged in age from newborns to 80-year-olds. The space was clean, spacious, and incredibly well-suited for entertaining guests of all ages.There were plenty of areas to relax, play, and catch up, and the open layout made it easy for everyone to feel connected while still having room to spread out. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed, and the host Edwin was fantastic—great communication throughout and always helpful when we had questions.We couldn’t have asked for a better place to create lasting memories with our family. Highly recommend!

Perfect Modern Barn in the Countryside

Booked our stay for my Daughter’s wedding and it was perfect! The pictures don’t do it justice - it’s so nice, has large rooms, and the decor is modern with a classic touch. So many great and useful amenities. It was perfect for all seven of us and we even had room for the bride to stay with us the night before the wedding. Day of the wedding, we had so much room and parking for the glam team! Edwin was an excellent host and we look forward to booking again in the future!

Beautiful property, sadly let down on hot tub not working and appliances are in need of being looked over and repairing where needed ie dishwasher, tumble dryer, main tv with no signal, lukewarm water throughout the downstairs area including the shower. Some bedding hadn’t been washed/dried properly resulting in us having to change bedding. We still managed to have a lovely weekend celebrating a birthday and Easter as a family and Edwin was very prompt in getting back to us with any help he could offer regarding appliances.

So Sorry for the Tub not working due an underground cable fault which has been prepared, as for the dryer - the washing machine is a washer dryer and is in full operation - however the tumble dryer is not connected and being removed - the TV works on both WiFi and Antenna , and water is does not seem to have any issues once heated up. Thank you for raising these points - the ones we can prevent will not be experienced again by future guests !

Great family get together

We had a lovely week celebrating a special birthday as a family. Property has plenty of space and nice communal areas. Garden area and hot tub a nice bonus. Good location to explore the local towns. As a 'lived in rental' it has the bonus of a well stocked kitchen and utility room. Room for improvement would be available wardrobe space as when staying for a week this would be helpful and a more detailed description of the house layout or floor plan would also be very helpful to gain a better understanding of exact bedroom set up. Thanks

Perfect family weekend

We were a family group celebrating an 80th birthday but also with a 5 year old and a teenager to keep happy. Edwins place was perfect. Everything you could possibly need and plenty of space for people to do their own thing if they wanted. Hot tub was a definite hit with the kids!

Great girls getaway

Fantastic space for us old school friends to spend a weekend catching up. There were only 4 of us but would have been plenty of room for 10. Very well equipped kitchen, lovely open plan dining and living area and the hot tub an excellent bonus. The area is quiet with great countryside walks and just a short drive to Saffron Walden where we enjoyed the Saturday Market and range of shops. Edwin was very helpful with all communication and local recommendations

Lovely barn and fantastic location

Had a great family stay at this property. The barn is lovely, lots of room, modern appliances, plenty to do in the area and a really nice host. Edwin was responsive throughout and was there at check-in to ensure it all went smoothly. Would recommend.

Fabulous barn

We had a wonderful stay. Excellent facilities, plenty of space and stunning views. We especially loved watching the sunsets and had great fun using the trampoline, fire pit and hot tub! Edwin was very easy to contact and happy to help us when needed.

From tree-swing to 21st century

A great holiday for a 3-generation family with lots of indoor and outdoor living (and playing) space. An excellent combination of hi-tech living (loved the coffee machine and the projector for movie nights) in a well-adapted historic building. We loved it!
