This home is owned by two brothers and their families. We love sand, saltwater, swimming and especially fishing. We chose Manasota Key because it is quiet, uncommercialized and still represents the unspoiled old Florida.

The layout of the home, the furnishings and the equipment was absolutely perfect. Really close to the beach for sunbathing and swimming. Great restaurants and water activities within walking distance or use the free shuttle services.
A beautiful place, inside and out!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 75 Wilhelm! The home was gorgeous, and had the perfect floor plan for our two families to stay comfortably. The view was arguably the best on the key - you could see both Lemon Bay on one side, and the ocean on the other. It is the nicest home we have stayed at during our visits to Manasota Key, and I’d highly recommend it for a large group or multiple families.
Great location, beautiful house!
House was well taken care of, very friendly owners and perfect for all our needs.
Beautiful home & perfect location
If you are looking for the beach within a few steps from your door, along with a beautiful place to stay, look no further. The beach view from one of the many porches was breathtaking with the sunset in perfect view. You can bring your whole family here, as the house is large and can sleep 10 people! There are several restaurants close enough to walk, or if you want, a couple of them will come get you on a golf cart. We thought that was the greatest thing since sliced bread! This area is on a dead end street that ends at the beach! The neighbors are great and more like a family. Many of them have been coming to this area for years. And, they were very welcoming and made you feel at home right away. There are two master bedrooms with their own bath, washer and dryer, etc. etc. They thought of everything down to cotton balls in the bathroom. We needed for nothing. We grilled out several nights on the nice gas grill, we even had crème and sugar for coffee, and lots of spices. The kitchen, dining room and den are all on one level, with 2 double doors going out to a beautiful patio that overlooks the beach. This area is spacious and beautifully decorated. The bedrooms are on the first level with another smaller den with a tv and your washer and dryer. Don't hesitate renting this house. Lynda, was one of the sweetest person I have ever worked with.
We're so delighted that you enjoyed your stay and hope you'll come back again soon!
Absolutely gorgeous beach home
My family just returned from a week at Lynda's home on Manasota Key and we could not have been happier with our stay. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous - upside down floor plan and open concept take full advantage of amazing views of the gulf, and the bedroom level is super well-designed (split masters, each with a kid-friendly room next door). Lynda also kept the house amazingly well-stocked - the kitchen has everything you could possibly need (including condiments, spices, and oils - the stuff you need to cook a meal, but that stinks to buy for just a week), more towels (both bath and beach) than you can count, all the bathroom essentials, and even laundry supplies. Really, all you need is your bathing suit.
Just a couple of notes - don't underestimate the number of stairs. We counted 48 from parking up to the kitchen. Those stairs are worth it because it allows for the best views from the living area and deck, but it might not be the best choice for those who have trouble climbing (we did just fine with two in their 70s, a 2-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a very pregnant lady). Also, based on the pictures, I thought the house was directly on the beach. It's actually the third (?) house from the sand, but, even with two small children, I was pleasantly surprised to conclude that it was no less convenient than being the first house. You don't have to cross the street, and there is no parking along the stretch of road leading to the beach so there is virtually zero traffic - it's essentially a private walking path from the house to the beach. And because it's an exclusively residential neighborhood (no condos, hotels, etc.), we had the beach to ourselves most days.
Thank you, Lynda, for sharing your home with us. I couldn't have asked for a better beach vacation.
A hidden hidden treasure and "Castle in the Sky" - Get ready for a fantastic vacation.
We rented this amazing home for a week to celebrate the life of my Uncle who recently passed away at 90 and who resided in Engelwood since the 1970's. We decided to bring some family together for a week in his hometown with my Aunt and his family. Luckily, this home was available and provided a wonderful solution and home for us during this time.
This house is loaded with design and luxury. It is decorated with both good taste and style. It has a unique layout with the first floor providing 4 nice size bedrooms, 3 baths and an informal recreation room. The upstairs level is for full entertainment with a wonderful kitchen that has everything one needs to entertain. The dinning room and living room are very comfortable with huge views of the Manasota Keys beach and the Gulf Ocean. There are outdoor space is available on both levels. The upstairs deck is to is breath taking with views of the Golf and the Bay. One feels like you are in a private treehouse with views abound.
The owner(s) has taken great detail to make this home a special get away in a private home with a resort / hotel feel including luxury towel, beach towels, nice bed lines and evening vanity shower gel, shampoo and conditioners in every bathroom. There are DVDs, games, books, hair dryers, all the cleaning supplies, laundry and dishwasher supplies one needs. The home has been well cared and demonstrates pride of ownership. I believe this to be one of Manasota Key / Engelwood's best vacation rentals and we feel fortunate to have stubbled upon it. "A hidden treasure - a castle in the sky".
The owner's communication is excellent and she executes on her word. I was nervous about renting and payment. Lynda was very professional and committed to making this a smooth transaction. Not one issue including seamless access through detailed instructions provided electronically for access and departure.
I would definitely recommend this vacation rental home and the owner's professional business transaction and communication. Deposit with returned without any issues. We will definitely stay there again!!!! We are grateful for this special home during a time of memorial and celebration with our family. My 85 year old mother said it best when we were flying home….."The vacation was a "10"!! Thank you Lynda for sharing your home. Wow!!!!!!
Manasota Key is one of the few beaches in the world where prehistoric, fossilized sharks teeth are abundant. Sand dollars are easily found in the shallow waters and the warm, calm Gulf waters make for ideal snorkeling year-round. This area is also world-renowned for its Tarpon fishing. Pack a picnic and take a quick walk to beautiful Stump Pass State Park. Stroll on groomed trails through 250 acres of Florida's native hammock. Several beach-side private picnic areas and secluded sandy beaches mark the trail. Bald eagle nests, beautiful herons and dolphins sightings are almost guaranteed. Launch a kayak and explore the best fishing on the Gulf coast. Looking for action? Walk to the public beach for public basketball courts, a covered boardwalk and a Pirate-themed playground. And there are Guided Segway Tours (ages 14 and older) around historic Olde Englewood and the bayfront areas. Discover what the Atlanta Journal-Constitution called 'one of FL's best kept secrets.'
