An enchanting private cottage, ideal for two. Steps from the sand, whale spouts, sand dollars and sea otters to greet you. Private entrance, King size bed, fireplace and private bath. Outdoor seating area to enjoy ocean sunset views. Small refrigerator, microwave and place settings to make your stay easy and comfortable. Outdoor storage for beach toys, if you would like to bring them. Private washer and dryer.
You are surrounded by fabulous scenery and places to visit, whether walking, biking, horseback riding, surfing, kayaking, paddle-boarding or hiking. Morro Bay's Embarcadero is a relaxed walk from the cottage. For further jaunts, you can get in your car with easy access to major Central Coast attractions, such as the famous Hearst Castle, Paso Robles wine country, Cayucos pier, Cambria's moonstone boardwalk and Montana de Oro.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is only 15 minutes by car, so parents can visit children at school and escape back to the coast easily.
We do not allow smoking, children or pets.

I can’t say enough about the Captain’s Java Cottage. It is clean, well appointed, had a lovely patio, well stocked with special treats and anything you may need. All the comforts of home! The owners are friendly, helpful and quick to respond. This is our second stay and will definitely be back!!!

This is a nice choice to stay in if you're looking for a simple and affordable way to stay near the beach, hear the ocean sounds, and immerse yourself in the beach community.It's a very comfortable studio apartment set up attached to a house but with its own entry and privacy.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Captain Java’s Cottage!!! We always do. It is always smells and looks so freshly clean!! The fireplace was a so nice to have during the storm last night! Everything the hosts do at Captain Java’s is done with a very tasteful, and thorough approach/touch! We have stayed here several years now to join our family that camps at Strand Beach, and it is the perfect 5 minute walk to see them. If we forget something, we can walk a few minutes to grab it. It’s just PERFECT 🤩 We highly recommend Captain Java’s over any hotel. This is like your home away from home. The hosts make you feel like you’re at home!!! Hotels do not Thank you again to our gracious hosts!!!

David met us at our arrival and was very friendly and accommodating. The unit was spotlessly, clean and well appointed. There were a lot of extra touches, not usually found. Such as juice, coffee, milk, and the rare but coveted drip coffee maker. The bed was very comfortable. Location was great, just steps from the beach. We had a great visit.

What can I say... I can just attest to the fact hat everything that the previous stellar reviews said is true. With the exception that the photos of the interior posted by prior guests don't really give a justice to this place that is bigger and nicer that it appears on the photos. Also it is super clean, comfortable, quiet, and tastefully decorated. Am I posting my own inside photos? No because I was too busy running around taking pics of sunsets or resting comfortably on this ginormous bed...
