Absolutely Perfect Tuscan Retreat

If you are looking for a small, authentic, Tuscan village not overrun by tourists with incredible views and hospitality -- look no further. We originally booked a stay in Lucca, but -- while lovely in its own way -- it was not what I was looking for. It was big, crowded with tourists and kinda dark. I was fortunate to book this home a few days before arriving and it was THE BEST decision. The host family are lovely and staying here has a family vibe and not the typical rental. It's warm, cozy, and the views are spectacular. I enjoyed having coffee outside listening to the church bells, Barberino Val d'Elsa is perfect in every way. It is small, but has all of the charm. It is located within driving distance of all the best tuscan towns you will want to visit. This home is the perfect home base. I cannot wait to come back and wish I stayed longer!

Lovely Home!

This was a beautiful home in an enchanting medieval town! It was a good location to explore Florence, Siena and the surrounding areas. The view over the valley was wonderful!

Charming !

A lovely and comfortable house fully equipped. Strategic position to travel through Toscana and possibly to Florence (45 minutes). Tiny and typical village. Very welcoming host. Wonderful stay !

Ideal location and host

This is my second stay at this beautiful home in Barberino. If you are considering a trip to this region this is the ideal place to locate yourself. You are in a small town and yet so close to so much. Florence and Siena both in 35 minutes in either direction. The town also has two great restaurants in walking distance. As if that were not good enough, you have a host that is very responsive and treats you like family. I would highly recommend this property and everything about it.

Best location, host and property!

I stayed here for 10 days and so my review is based on more than a weekend at this house. My host (Benedetta) was terrific. We corresponded before the rental and she was very helpful by giving me answers to all of my questions of course. But, then she went above and beyond by sending me additional information on local activities. I was traveling on my own but, the house has plenty of room for 4. The condition was spotless. The bathroom is spacious and the shower in the tub has great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The views from the house are even nicer than they look in the pictures. The town is small but, a few very good restaurants and a few (Italian) bars, one on each side of town. COOP supermarket in walking distance too. Florence 40 minutes, Siena, 30. And, so much to do in between, 10 days just wasn't enough. I am not back home yet but, I am already trying to figure out when I can come back to Benedetta's house next year!

Einfach perfekt!

Das Haus lässt für einen tollen Urlaub keine Wünsche offen. Einrichtung und Ausstattung sehr liebevoll und vollständig. WiFi ist schnell und stabil. Die Umgebung spricht für viele schöne Ausflüge. Die Vermieterin ist jederzeit ansprechbar und sehr sehr nett. Wir waren absolut begeistert und kommen bestimmt wieder.

Herrliche Ferienwohnung zum Entschleunigen!

Barberino ist ein malerisches Städtchen, dass alles für einen ruhigen Urlaub bereit hält, dass wir uns wünschten. Die Wohnung passt hierzu perfekt. Sie ist liebevollst eingerichtet und gerade die kleinen Details bestechen. Neben der herrlichen Aussicht vom Wohnzimmer hat die Wohnung ebenso einen kleinen Balkon für ein gemütliches Frühstück. Sehr gute Restaurants sind ein paar Purzelbäume entfernt. Wir werden sicherlich nochmals kommen und haben die Wohnung bereits mehrfach und Freunde und die Familie weiterempfohlen. Vielen Dank für diese tolle Zeit!!

Wonderful location in Tuscany

This apartment provides a wonderful step back in time. Comfortable, roomy with all the amenities you need. Barber is a Val d’Elsa is centrally located in the Chianti area and we were able to visit many of the historic villages, wine taste, and had easy access to Siena and Florence. The owners we bery helpful with suggestions and we took a cooking class from Benedetta and her mother. For an authentic Tuscan experience, I highly recommend this apartment.

Amazing Location, Beautiful Property, Accommodating Host! Perfetto!!

The "sum" of all of this rentals "parts" was WONDERFUL!! I was especially grateful for the hostess' understanding as I experienced difficulty pulling up emails which has the correct address and instructions. She went out of her way to ensure I checked in and had an excellent stay. I do recommend one bring the essentials (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner) as it is not a hotel. Also note, the dryer is "line dry" which was not an issue for us since we had lovely weather. I also highly recommend any restaurant in the immediate area. The three I tried (and another was about to open also offering amazing views, Pico!) were absolutely delicious and fairly well priced! Wonderful to find so many good places to dine within a two minute stroll!! I can't recommend highly enough this property!! You will enjoy it and Tuscany!!

Beuatiful little town in the contryside.

We loved our stay here. The rental was perfect. There was more than enough room. We do wish there was parking at the rental but there was parking a short distance from the rental. It was quiet and clean in Barbarino. The restaurants near the rental were incredible. We loved them. Cafe Bijou, Ristorante Triocco & Osteria il Campanello were just a short walk from the rental. They all had amazing food. The prices were good too. We loved having Barbarino as a base to see Tuscany. There were so many places to see all around there. Get out of the cities and just take in all the valley has to show you. It was great.

Perfect Tuscan Retreat

This villa is perfect! Very clean, plenty of living space, and the views are spectacular if you enjoy seeing the gorgeous Tuscan countryside. The location is quite convenient with restaurants, shops, markets, and parks just steps away. Our host (Benedetta) was super sweet and extremely helpful and accommodating. She maintained good communication with us throughout our stay whenever we needed assistance.

Fantastic experience

Absolutely loved staying here. Plenty of space for 4 adults, able to cook meals if we wanted. Incredible views. Loved the experience of staying in a castle. Restaurant next door one of the best we had in italy. Enjoyed wine bar with a very short walking distance. Bernadette was a great host and gave us suggestions for some locals only sites. Great location for exploring Tuscany

The most breathtaking place to stay - a Tuscan beauty

This historic house right in the middle of the old town, was adorable. Just as you see in the photos. Great location, surrounded by local restaurants, amongst the locals, right next door to Al Fresco dining, amazing pizza's and pasta with fresh produce, beside a beautiful church and surrounded by hills and gorgeous views - what more could you ask for. Our host, Benedetta and her wonderful Mother, Franco Maria were just delightful. I recommend the cooking class run by Benedetta's mother. She showed us how to cook wonderful authentic Tuscan food - very delicious. Close to all amenities in the area, stone throw from San Gimignano where there is good shopping and worth a visit to Certaldo Old town at the top of the hill, reached by a vunicular. I would also recommend the 4x4 off road tour run by Jonny from Off Road Tour SSD through AirBnB. We had the most enjoyable time here spending 5 days in the region. Thank you so much Benedetta for making our stay the best part of our holiday. Martha x

Beautiful home in a breathtaking location!

This beautiful house is located in a perfect location to enjoy the countryside of Italy. We spent a day in Florence (2o minutes by car + 20 minutes by train) and another driving around to small towns in the area. The restaurant beside the house was our favorite in all of Italy! This is a lovely historic home filled with many happy family memories. It was very clean. Benedetta was darling and very easy to contact. The location was perfect - right in the middle of the Tuscany region. We had a very enjoyable visit in Barbarino.
